1 A nd the whole earth had one language, and the same words.

А по цялата земя се употребяваше един език и общ говор.

2 A nd it came to pass as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and dwelt there.

След като хората тръгнаха на изток, намериха поле в Сенаарската земя, където се и заселиха.

3 A nd they said one to another, Come on, let us make bricks, and burn thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.

И си казаха един на друг: Елате, да направим тухли и да ги изпечем в огъня. Тухли употребяваха вместо камъни, а смола употребяваха вместо кал.

4 A nd they said, Come on, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, the top of which to the heavens; and let us make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered over the face of the whole earth.

И казаха: Елате, да си съградим град, даже кула, чийто връх да стига до небето; и да си спечелим име, да не би да се разпръснем по лицето на цялата земя.

5 A nd Jehovah came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men built.

А Господ слезе да види града и кулата, които градяха хората.

6 A nd Jehovah said, Behold, the people is one, and have all one language; and this have they begun to do. And now will they be hindered in nothing that they meditate doing.

И Господ каза: Щом като те са един народ, говорещ общ език, и са почнали да правят това; и няма да има нищо невъзможно за тях, каквото и да било нещо, което биха намислили да направят.

7 C ome, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

Нека слезем и там да разбъркаме езика им, така че едни други да не разбират езика си.

8 A nd Jehovah scattered them thence over the face of the whole earth. And they left off building the city.

Така Господ ги разпръсна оттам по лицето на цялата земя; а те престанаха да градят града.

9 T herefore was its name called Babel; because Jehovah there confounded the language of the whole earth. And Jehovah scattered them thence over the face of the whole earth.

Затова той бе наречен Вавилон, защото там Господ разбърка езика на цялата земя; и оттам Господ ги разпръсна по лицето на цялата земя. Потомството на Сим

10 T hese are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood.

Ето Симовото родословие: Сим беше на сто години, а роди Арфаксад две години след потопа;

11 A nd Shem lived after he had begotten Arphaxad five hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Арфаксад, Сим живя петстотин години и роди синове и дъщери.

12 A nd Arphaxad lived thirty-five years, and begot Shelah.

Арфаксад живя тридесет и пет години и роди Сала;

13 A nd Arphaxad lived after he had begotten Shelah four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Сала, Арфаксад живя четиристотин и три години и роди синове и дъщери.

14 A nd Shelah lived thirty years, and begot Eber.

Сала живя тридесет години и роди Евер;

15 A nd Shelah lived after he had begotten Eber four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Евер, Сала живя четиристотин и три години и роди синове и дъщери.

16 A nd Eber lived thirty-four years, and begot Peleg.

Евер живя тридесет и четири години и роди Фалек;

17 A nd Eber lived after he had begotten Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Фалек, Евер живя четиристотин и тридесет години и роди синове и дъщери.

18 A nd Peleg lived thirty years, and begot Reu.

Фалек живя тридесет години и роди Рагав;

19 A nd Peleg lived after he had begotten Reu two hundred and nine years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Рагав, Фалек живя двеста и девет години и роди синове и дъщери.

20 A nd Reu lived thirty-two years, and begot Serug.

Рагав живя тридесет и две години и роди Серух;

21 A nd Reu lived after he had begotten Serug two hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Серух, Рагав живя двеста и седем години и роди синове и дъщери.

22 A nd Serug lived thirty years, and begot Nahor.

Серух живя тридесет години и роди Нахор;

23 A nd Serug lived after he had begotten Nahor two hundred years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Нахор, Серух живя двеста години и роди синове и дъщери.

24 A nd Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and begot Terah.

Нахор живя двадесет и девет години и роди Тара;

25 A nd Nahor lived after he had begotten Terah a hundred and nineteen years, and begot sons and daughters.

а откак роди Тара, Нахор живя сто и деветнадесет години и роди синове и дъщери.

26 A nd Terah lived seventy years, and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

Тара живя седемдесет години и роди Аврам, Нахор и Аран.

27 A nd these are the generations of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begot Lot.

Ето родословието и на Тара: Тара роди Аврам, Нахор и Аран; а Аран роди Лот.

28 A nd Haran died before the face of his father Terah in the land of his nativity at Ur of the Chaldeans.

И Аран умря преди баща си Тара в Ур Халдейски, в родната си земя.

29 A nd Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, a daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.

Аврам и Нахор си взеха жени; името на Аврамовата жена беше Сарая, а името на Нахоровата жена Мелха, дъщеря на Аран, който, освен че беше баща на Мелха, беше баща и на Есха.

30 A nd Sarai was barren: she had no child.

А Сарая беше бездетна, нямаше дете.

31 A nd Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth together out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to go into the land of Canaan, and came as far as Haran, and dwelt there.

И Тара взе сина си Аврам и внука си Лот, Арановия син, и снаха си Сарая, жената на сина си Аврам, и излязоха заедно от Ур Халдейски, за да отидат в Ханаанската земя; и дойдоха в Харан, където се и заселиха.

32 A nd the days of Terah were two hundred and five years; and Terah died in Haran.

И дните на Тара станаха двеста и пет години; и Тара умря в Харан.
