1 I n the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, came this word from Jehovah, saying,

В началото на царуването на Юдейския цар Йоаким, Йосиевия син, дойде това слово от Господа, което каза:

2 T hus saith Jehovah: Stand in the court of Jehovah's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in Jehovah's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them: diminish not a word.

Така казва Господ: Застани в двора на Господния дом и изговори на всички Юдейски градове, които идват да се покланят в Господния дом, всички думи, които ти заповядвам да им говориш; не задържай нито една дума.

3 P eradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings.

Може би ще послушат и всеки ще се отвърне от нечестивия си път, за да се разкая за злото, което възнамерявам да им сторя поради лошите им дела.

4 A nd thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah: If ye will not hearken unto me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,

И да им кажеш: Така казва Господ: Ако не Ме послушате да ходите според закона Ми, който поставих пред вас,

5 t o hearken unto the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent unto you, even rising early and sending, but ye have not hearkened,

да слушате думите на слугите Ми, пророците, които пращам при вас, като ставам рано и ги пращам (но вие не послушахте),

6 — then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

тогава ще направя този дом като Сило и ще направя този град предмет, с който всичките народи на света ще кълнат.

7 A nd the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of Jehovah.

А свещениците, пророците и целият народ чуха Йеремия, като говореше тези думи в Господния дом.

8 A nd it came to pass when Jeremiah had ended speaking all that Jehovah had commanded to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people seized him, saying, Thou shalt certainly die.

След като Йеремия свърши да говори всичко, което Господ му беше заповядал да каже на целия народ, тогава свещениците, пророците и целият народ го хванаха и казаха: Непременно ще бъдеш умъртвен.

9 W hy hast thou prophesied in the name of Jehovah, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah.

Ти защо пророкува в Господнето име, като каза: Този дом ще стане като Сило и този град ще запустее, за да няма жител? И целият народ се събра около Йеремия в Господния дом.

10 A nd the princes of Judah heard these things; and they went up from the king's house unto the house of Jehovah, and sat in the entry of the new gate of Jehovah.

А Юдейските първенци, като чуха това, излязоха от царския дворец в Господния дом и седнаха във входа на новата порта на Господния дом.

11 A nd the priests and the prophets spoke unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die, for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.

Тогава свещениците и пророците говориха на първенците и на целия народ: Този човек заслужава да бъде умъртвен, защото пророкува против този град, както чухте с ушите си.

12 A nd Jeremiah spoke to all the princes and to all the people, saying, Jehovah sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.

Тогава Йеремия говори на всички първенци и на целия народ: Господ ме изпрати да пророкувам против този дом и против този град всички думи, които чухте.

13 A nd now, amend your ways and your doings, and hearken to the voice of Jehovah your God; and Jehovah will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.

Затова сега оправете постъпките и делата си и послушайте гласа на Господа, вашия Бог; и Господ ще се разкае за злото, което е изговорил против вас.

14 B ut as for me, behold, I am in your hand; do unto me as seemeth good and right in your eyes:

А за мен, ето, аз съм в ръката ви; направете ми каквото ви се вижда за добро и угодно.

15 o nly know for certain that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof; for of a truth Jehovah hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

Но добре да знаете, че ако ме умъртвите, то ще докарате невинна кръв върху себе си, върху този град и върху жителите му; защото наистина Господ ме прати при вас да говоря в ушите ви всички тези думи.

16 A nd the princes and all the people said unto the priests and to the prophets, This man is not worthy to die; for he hath spoken to us in the name of Jehovah our God.

Тогава първенците и целият народ казаха на свещениците и пророците: Този човек не заслужава да бъде умъртвен; защото ни говори в името на Господа, нашия Бог.

17 A nd there rose up certain of the elders of the land and spoke to all the congregation of the people, saying,

Тогава някои от местните старейшини станаха и говориха на всичките събрани хора:

18 M icah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Zion shall be ploughed a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.

Михей моресетецът пророкуваше в дните на Юдейския цар Езекия, като говори на целия Юдейски народ: Така казва Господ на Силите: Сион ще бъде изоран като нива, Йерусалим ще стане на грамади от развалини, а хълмът на дома - като високи места на гора.

19 D id Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? Did he not fear Jehovah, and supplicate Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil that he had pronounced against them? And we should be doing a great evil against our souls.

Умъртвиха ли го Юдейския цар Езекия и целия Юда? Не се ли убоя той от Господа и не Го ли умилостиви, та Господ се разкая за злото, което беше изрекъл против тях? И така, ние бихме причинили голямо зло на своите души.

20 A nd there was also a man that prophesied in the name of Jehovah, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjath-jearim: and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah;

А имаше и друг човек, Урия, Семайевият син, от Кириат-иарим, който пророкуваше в Господнето име; и пророкуваше против този град и против тази страна със същите думи, както и Йеремия.

21 a nd Jehoiakim the king, and all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, and the king sought to put him to death; but Urijah heard it, and he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.

И когато цар Йоаким, всичките му силни мъже и всички първенци чуха думите му, царят търсеше случай да го умъртви; а Урия, като чу, уплаши се, побегна и отиде в Египет.

22 A nd Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and men with him, into Egypt;

А цар Йоаким прати мъже в Египет - Елнатан, Аховоровия син, и някои мъже с него;

23 a nd they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king; and he slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the children of the people.

те изведоха Урия от Египет и го доведоха при цар Йоаким, който го порази с меч и хвърли трупа му в гробищата на простолюдието.

24 — Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.

Но ръката на Ахикам, Сафановия син, беше с Йеремия, за да не го предадат в ръцете на народа, за да го убият.
