1 N evertheless the darkness shall not be as when the distress was in the, at the time he at first lightly, and afterwards heavily, visited the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,—the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations:

Но на измъчената земя няма да има мрак, както в предишните времена, когато Той унижи земята на Завулон и земята на Нефталим; но в следващите времена ще я направи славна - нея, която е по пътя към езерото, оттатък Йордан, Галилея на народите.

2 t he people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them light hath shone.

Народът, който ходеше в тъмнина, видя голяма светлина; на онези, които седяха в земя на мрачна сянка, им изгря светлина.

3 T hou hast multiplied the nation, hast increased its joy: they joy before thee like to the joy in harvest; as rejoice when they divide the spoil.

Умножил си народа, увеличил си радостта му; радват се пред Тебе, както се радват във време на жътва, както се радват, когато делят плячка.

4 F or thou hast broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian.

Защото Ти си строшил, както в деня на Мадиам, тежкия им хомот, тоягата за плещите им и бича на угнетителя им.

5 F or every boot of him that is shod for the tumult, and the garment rolled in blood, shall be for burning, fuel for fire.

Защото всеки ботуш на обутия воин в шума и облеклата, валяни в кръв, ще бъдат за изгаряне и гориво за огън.

6 F or unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name is called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.

Защото ни се роди Дете, Син ни се даде; и управлението ще бъде на рамото Му; и името Му ще бъде: Чудесен, Съветник, Бог могъщ, Отец на вечността, Княз на мира.

7 O f the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with judgment and with righteousness, from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will perform this.

Управлението Му и мирът непрестанно ще се увеличават на Давидовия престол и на неговото царство, за да го утвърди и поддържа чрез правосъдие и правда, отсега и довека. Ревността на Господа на Силите ще извърши това. Наказание на надменна Самария

8 T he Lord sent a word unto Jacob, and it lighteth upon Israel.

Господ изпрати слово на Яков; и то връхлетя и върху Израел.

9 A nd all the people shall know, Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in pride and stoutness of heart,

И целият народ ще го познае, дори Ефрем и жителите на Самария, които гордо и с надменно сърце казват:

10 T he bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; the sycamore trees are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.

Кирпичите паднаха, но ние ще съзидаме с дялани камъни; черниците бяха изсечени, но ще ги заменим с кедри.

11 A nd Jehovah will set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and arm his enemies,

Затова Господ ще повдигне върху него онези, които се противиха против Расин, и ще възбуди неприятелите му -

12 t he Syrians on the east, and the Philistines on the west; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

сирийците отпред и филистимците отзад, - и те ще изядат Израел с отворени уста. При все това гневът Му не се отвърна, а ръката Му е още протегната.

13 B ut the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, and they do not seek Jehovah of hosts.

Но пак народът не се връща към Този, Който го поразява, нито търси Господа на Силите.

14 A nd Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, palm-branch and rush, in one day:

Затова Господ ще отсече от Израел в един ден и глава, и опашка, палмов клон и тръстика.

15 t he ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.

(Старецът и почтеният мъж, той е глава; а пророкът, който поучава лъжи, той е опашка.)

16 F or the guides of this people mislead; and they that are guided by them are swallowed up.

Защото водачите на този народ го заблуждават и водените от тях загиват.

17 T herefore the Lord will not rejoice in their young men, neither will he have mercy on their fatherless and on their widows; for every one is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

Затова Господ няма да се зарадва за юношите им, нито ще се смили над сирачетата и вдовиците им; понеже те всички са нечестиви и злодеи и всички уста говорят безумие. При все това гневът Му не се отвърна, а ръката Му е още протегната.

18 F or wickedness burneth as a fire: it devoureth briars and thorns, and kindleth in the thickets of the forest, and they go rolling up like a pillar of smoke.

Защото беззаконието изгаря като огън, който поглъща глоговете и тръните. Да! Той пламти в горските гъсталаци и те се издигат като тежки облаци дим.

19 T hrough the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land burned up, and the people is as fuel for fire: a man spareth not his brother;

От гнева на Господа на Силите земята изгоря. И народът ще бъде като гориво за огън; никой не жали брат си.

20 a nd he snatcheth on the right hand, and is hungry, and eateth on the left hand; and they are not satisfied. They eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

Човек ще граби отдясно, но ще остане гладен; и ще яде наляво, но няма да се насити! Всеки от тях ще яде плътта на своята мишца:

21 M anasseh, Ephraim, and Ephraim, Manasseh; they together are against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

Манасия - Ефрем, и Ефрем - Манасия, и те заедно ще бъдат против Юда. При все това гневът Му не се отвърна, а ръката Му е още протегната.
