1 T he words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

3 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.

Така казва Господ: Поради три престъпления на Дамаск - да! - поради четири, няма да отменя наказанието му, защото вършаха Галаад с железни дикани.

4 A nd I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

Но Аз ще изпратя огън в дома Азаилов и той ще изгори палатите на Венадад.

5 A nd I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith Jehovah.

Аз ще строша лостовете на Дамаск и ще изтребя жителя от Авенското поле и от Еденовия дом - онзи, който държи скиптър; и сирийският народ ще бъде откаран в плен в Кир, казва Господ.

6 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gazah, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver up to Edom.

Така казва Господ: Поради три престъпления на Газа - да! - поради четири, няма да отменя наказанието му, защото плениха целия Ми народ, за да ги предадат на Едом.

7 A nd I will send a fire on the wall of Gazah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Но Аз ще изпратя огън върху стената на Газа и той ще изгори палатите му.

8 A nd I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Ще изтребя жителя от Азот и от Аскалон - онзи, който държи скиптър; ще обърна ръката Си против Акарон и останалите от филистимците ще загинат, казва Господ Йехова.

9 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant.

Така казва Господ: Поради три престъпления на Тир - да! - поради четири, няма да отменя наказанието им, защото предадоха целия Ми народ в плен на Едом и не си спомниха братския завет.

10 A nd I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Но Аз ще изпратя огън върху стената на Тир и ще изгоря палатите му.

11 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity; and his anger did tear continually, and he kept his wrath for ever.

Така казва Господ: Поради три престъпления на Едом - да! - поради четири, няма да отменя наказанието му, защото прогони брат си с меч и като отхвърли всяко милосърдие, негодуванието му разкъсваше непрестанно и той винаги пазеше гнева си.

12 A nd I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Но Аз ще изпратя огън върху Теман и той ще изгори палатите на Восор.

13 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

Така казва Господ: Поради три престъпления на Амон - да! - поради четири, няма да отменя наказанието им, защото разпаряха бременните жени на Галаад, за да разширят пределите си.

14 A nd I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.

Но Аз ще запаля огън в стената на Рава и той ще изгори палатите му, сред силно викане в деня на боя, сред вихрушка в деня на бурята;

15 A nd their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith Jehovah.

и царят им ще отиде в плен, той и първенците му с него, казва Господ.
