1 A nd it came to pass a long time after that Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua had become old, advanced in age,

След много време, когато Господ бе дал покой на Израел от всичките му околни неприятели и Исус беше остарял и в напреднала възраст,

2 t hat Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am become old, advanced in age;

Исус свика целия Израел, старейшините им, началниците им, съдиите им и надзирателите им, и им каза: Аз остарях и съм в напреднала възраст.

3 a nd ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done to all these nations because of you. For Jehovah your God is he that hath fought for you.

Вие видяхте всичко, което Господ, вашият Бог, извърши заради вас с всички тези народи; защото Господ, вашият Бог, Той е, Който е воювал за вас.

4 B ehold, I have divided unto you by lot for an inheritance, according to your tribes, these nations that remain, from the Jordan, as well as all the nations that I have cut off, as far as the great sea toward the sun-setting.

Ето, разделих между вас с жребий в наследство на племената ви земята на тези останали народи и на всичките народи, които унищожих, от Йордан до голямото море, към залез слънце.

5 A nd Jehovah your God, he will expel them from before you, and dispossess them from out of your sight; and ye shall take possession of their land, as Jehovah your God hath said unto you.

И Господ, вашият Бог, Той ще ги прогони пред вас и пред очите ви; и вие ще завладеете земята им, както Господ, вашият Бог, ви е обещал.

6 A nd be ye very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

И така, бъдете много храбри, пазете и вършете всичко, което е написано в книгата на Моисеевия закон, без да се отклонявате от него - нито надясно, нито наляво,

7 t hat ye enter not among these nations, these that remain among you; and ye shall make no mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them;

за да не се смесвате с тези народи, които останаха между вас, нито да споменавате имената на боговете им, нито да се кълнете в тях, нито да им служите, нито да им се кланяте;

8 b ut ye shall cleave unto Jehovah your God, as ye have done unto this day.

а към Господа, вашия Бог, да сте привързани, както сте били до днес.

9 F or Jehovah hath dispossessed from before you great and strong nations; and as to you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.

Защото Господ е изгонил пред вас големи и силни народи; и до днес никой не можа да устои пред вас.

10 O ne man of you chaseth a thousand; for Jehovah your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath said unto you.

Един от вас е гонил хиляда; защото Господ, вашият Бог, Той е, Който воюва за вас, както ви е обещал.

11 T ake great heed therefore unto your souls, that ye love Jehovah your God.

Затова, внимавайте добре да обичате Господа, вашия Бог.

12 F or if ye in any wise go back, and cleave unto the residue of these nations, these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and come in unto them and they unto you:

Иначе, ако се върнете някога назад и се привържете към остатъка от тези народи, към останалите от тях между вас, и се сродявате с тях, и се смесвате с тях и те с вас,

13 k now for a certainty that Jehovah your God will no more dispossess these nations from before you, and they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you.

да знаете добре, че Господ, вашият Бог, няма вече да изгони пред очите ви тези народи. А те ще ви бъдат клопка и примка, бичове по ребрата ви и тръни в очите ви, докато изчезнете от тази добра земя, която Господ, вашият Бог, ви е дал.

14 A nd behold, I am going this day the way of all the earth; and ye know in all your heart, and in all your soul, that not one thing hath failed of all the good words that Jehovah your God hath spoken concerning you: all are come to pass unto you—not one thing hath failed thereof.

Ето, днес аз отивам по пътя на целия свят; и вие знаете с цялото си сърце и цялата си душа, че не остана неизпълнено нито едно от тези добри неща, които Господ, вашият Бог, говори за вас; всички те се сбъднаха за вас; ни едно от тях не остана неизпълнено.

15 B ut it shall come to pass, that as every good word hath been fulfilled to you, that Jehovah your God spoke to you, so will Jehovah bring upon you every evil word, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Jehovah your God hath given you;

Но точно както се сбъднаха за вас всичките добри неща, които Господ, вашият Бог, ви говорѝ, така Господ ще докара върху вас всичките зли неща, докато ви изтреби от тази добра земя, която Господ, вашият Бог, ви е дал,

16 w hen ye transgress the covenant of Jehovah your God which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow yourselves unto them, so that the anger of Jehovah shall be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.

ако престъпите завета на Господа, вашия Бог, който Той ви заповяда, и отидете и служите на други богове, и им се кланяте; тогава гневът на Господа ще пламне против вас и вие скоро ще изчезнете от добрата земя, която Той ви е дал.
