1 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

Тогава Господ говорѝ на Моисей:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, and take of them a staff, a staff for each father's house, of all their princes according to the houses of their fathers, twelve staves: thou shalt write each one's name upon his staff.

Говорѝ на израелтяните и вземи от тях дванадесет жезъла, по един жезъл за всеки дом, от всичките им първенци според домовете на бащите им, и напиши името на всеки на жезъла му.

3 A nd Aaron's name shalt thou write upon the staff of Levi; for one staff shall be for head of their fathers' houses.

На Левиевия жезъл напиши името на Аарон; понеже ще има по един жезъл за всеки началник на бащините им домове.

4 A nd thou shalt lay them up in the tent of meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

Положи ги в шатъра за срещане пред плочите на свидетелството, където Аз се срещам с вас.

5 A nd it shall come to pass, that the man whom I shall choose, his staff shall bud forth; and I will make to cease from before me the murmurings of the children of Israel, that they murmur against you.

Жезълът на човека, когото избера, ще процъфти. Така ще направя да престанат пред Мене роптанията на израелтяните, с които те роптаят против вас.

6 A nd Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and all their princes gave him a staff, one staff for each prince according to their fathers' houses, twelve staves, and the staff of Aaron was among their staves.

И така, Моисей каза на израелтяните; и всичките им първенци му дадоха дванадесет жезъла - всеки първенец по един жезъл според бащините си домове; и Аароновият жезъл беше между жезлите им.

7 A nd Moses laid the staves before Jehovah in the tent of the testimony.

Тогава Моисей положи жезлите пред Господа в шатъра за плочите на свидетелството.

8 A nd it came to pass, when on the morrow Moses went into the tent of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and ripened almonds.

А на следващия ден Моисей влезе в шатъра за плочите на свидетелството; и, ето, Аароновият жезъл за Левиевия дом беше покарал и произрастил пъпки, цъфнал и завързал зрели бадеми.

9 A nd Moses brought out all the staves from before Jehovah to all the children of Israel, and they looked and took each one his staff.

И Моисей изнесе всички жезли отпред Господа при всички израелтяни; и те, като ги прегледаха, взеха всеки жезъла си.

10 A nd Jehovah said to Moses, Bring Aaron's staff again before the testimony, to be kept as a token for the sons of rebellion, that thou mayest put an end to their murmurings before me, that they may not die.

Тогава Господ каза на Моисей: Върни Аароновия жезъл пред плочите на свидетелството, за да се пази за знак против бунтовническия род; и така да направиш да престанат роптанията им против Мене, за да не измрат.

11 A nd Moses did so: as Jehovah had commanded him, so did he.

И Моисей направи така; както Господ му заповяда, така направи.

12 A nd the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Lo, we expire, we perish, we all perish.

Тогава израелтяните говориха на Моисей: Ето, ние загиваме, погубени сме, всички сме погубени;

13 E very one that comes at all near to the tabernacle of Jehovah shall die: shall we then expire altogether?

всеки, който се приближи до Господнята скиния, умира; ще измрем ли ние всички?
