1 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

Entonces habló el Señor a Moisés, diciendo:

2 S peak unto the children of Israel, and take of them a staff, a staff for each father's house, of all their princes according to the houses of their fathers, twelve staves: thou shalt write each one's name upon his staff.

Habla a los hijos de Israel y toma de ellos una vara por cada una de las casas paternas: doce varas de todos los jefes conforme a sus casas paternas. Y escribirás el nombre de cada uno en su vara,

3 A nd Aaron's name shalt thou write upon the staff of Levi; for one staff shall be for head of their fathers' houses.

y escribirás el nombre de Aarón en la vara de Leví; porque hay una vara para cada jefe de sus casas paternas.

4 A nd thou shalt lay them up in the tent of meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

Y las pondrás en la tienda de reunión delante del testimonio donde me encuentro contigo.

5 A nd it shall come to pass, that the man whom I shall choose, his staff shall bud forth; and I will make to cease from before me the murmurings of the children of Israel, that they murmur against you.

Y acontecerá que la vara del hombre que yo escoja, retoñará. Así disminuiré de sobre mí las quejas de los hijos de Israel que murmuran contra vosotros.

6 A nd Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and all their princes gave him a staff, one staff for each prince according to their fathers' houses, twelve staves, and the staff of Aaron was among their staves.

Habló, pues, Moisés a los hijos de Israel, y todos los jefes de ellos le dieron varas, una por cada jefe según sus casas paternas; doce varas, con la vara de Aarón entre sus varas.

7 A nd Moses laid the staves before Jehovah in the tent of the testimony.

Y Moisés colocó las varas en la tienda del testimonio delante del Señor.

8 A nd it came to pass, when on the morrow Moses went into the tent of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and ripened almonds.

Y aconteció que el día siguiente, Moisés entró en la tienda del testimonio, y he aquí, la vara de Aarón de la casa de Leví había retoñado y echado botones, y había producido flores, y almendras maduras.

9 A nd Moses brought out all the staves from before Jehovah to all the children of Israel, and they looked and took each one his staff.

Moisés entonces sacó todas las varas de la presencia del Señor y las llevó a los hijos de Israel; y ellos las miraron y cada uno tomó su vara.

10 A nd Jehovah said to Moses, Bring Aaron's staff again before the testimony, to be kept as a token for the sons of rebellion, that thou mayest put an end to their murmurings before me, that they may not die.

Pero el Señor dijo a Moisés: Vuelve a poner la vara de Aarón delante del testimonio para guardarla por señal a los rebeldes, para que hagas cesar sus murmuraciones contra mí, y no mueran.

11 A nd Moses did so: as Jehovah had commanded him, so did he.

Así lo hizo Moisés; como el Señor le había ordenado, así lo hizo.

12 A nd the children of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Lo, we expire, we perish, we all perish.

Entonces los hijos de Israel hablaron a Moisés, diciendo: He aquí, perecemos, estamos perdidos; todos nosotros estamos perdidos.

13 E very one that comes at all near to the tabernacle of Jehovah shall die: shall we then expire altogether?

Cualquiera que se acerca al tabernáculo del Señor, muere. ¿Hemos de perecer todos?
