1 T hen sang Deborah and Barak, the son of Abinoam, on that day, saying,

¡Por haberse puesto al frente los jefes en Israel, por haberse ofrecido el pueblo voluntariamente, bendecid al Señor!

3 H ear, ye kings; give ear, ye princes, I, I, will sing to Jehovah; I will hymn to Jehovah the God of Israel.

¡Oíd, reyes; prestad oído, príncipes! Yo al Señor, yo cantaré, cantaré alabanzas al Señor, Dios de Israel.

4 J ehovah, when thou wentest forth from Seir, When thou marchedst out of the fields of Edom, The earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, Yea, the clouds dropped water.

Señor, cuando saliste de Seir, cuando marchaste del campo de Edom, la tierra tembló, también cayeron gotas del cielo, y las nubes destilaron agua.

5 T he mountains quaked before the face of Jehovah, That Sinai, from before Jehovah the God of Israel.

Los montes se estremecieron ante la presencia del Señor, aquel Sinaí, ante la presencia del Señor, Dios de Israel.

6 I n the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, The roads were unused, and the travellers on highways went by crooked paths.

En los días de Samgar, hijo de Anat, en los días de Jael, quedaron desiertos los caminos, y los viajeros andaban por sendas tortuosas.

7 T he villages ceased in Israel, Ceased until that I Deborah arose, That I arose a mother in Israel.

Cesaron los campesinos, cesaron en Israel, hasta que yo, Débora, me levanté, hasta que me levanté, como madre en Israel.

8 T hey chose new gods; then was war in the gates: Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?

Los que cabalgáis en asnas blancas, los que os sentáis en ricos tapices, los que viajáis por el camino, cantad.

11 B ecause of the voice of those who divide in the midst of the places of drawing water; There they rehearse the righteous acts of Jehovah, His righteous acts toward his villages in Israel. Then the people of Jehovah went down to the gates.

Al sonido de los que dividen las manadas entre los abrevaderos, allí repetirán los actos de justicia del Señor, los actos de justicia para con sus campesinos en Israel. Entonces el pueblo del Señor descendió a las puertas.

12 A wake, awake, Deborah! awake, awake, utter a song! Arise, Barak, and lead captive thy captives, thou son of Abinoam!

Despierta, despierta, Débora; despierta, despierta, entona un cántico. Levántate, Barac, y lleva a tus cautivos, hijo de Abinoam.

13 T hen come down, thou, the remnant of nobles, people; Jehovah! come down with me in the midst of the mighty ones.

Entonces los sobrevivientes descendieron sobre los nobles; el pueblo del Señor vino a mí como guerreros.

14 O ut of Ephraim those whose root was in Amalek; After thee was Benjamin among thy peoples. Out of Machir came down governors, And out of Zebulun they that handled the staff of the ruler.

De Efraín descendieron los radicados en Amalec, en pos de ti, Benjamín, con tus pueblos; de Maquir descendieron jefes, y de Zabulón los que manejan vara de mando.

15 A nd the princes in Issachar were with Deborah; And Issachar, like Barak; They were sent into the valley at his feet. In the divisions of Reuben there were great resolves of heart!

Los príncipes de Isacar estaban con Débora; como Isacar, así también Barac; al valle se apresuraron pisándole los talones; entre las divisiones de Rubén había grandes resoluciones de corazón.

16 W hy abodest thou among the sheepfolds, To hear the bleating of the flocks? In the divisions of Reuben there were great deliberations of heart!

¿Por qué te sentaste entre los rediles, escuchando los toques de flauta para los rebaños? Entre las divisiones de Rubén había gran escudriñamiento de corazón.

17 G ilead abode beyond Jordan; And Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat on the sea-shore, And abode in his creeks.

Galaad se quedó al otro lado del Jordán. ¿Y por qué se quedó Dan en las naves? Aser se sentó a la orilla del mar, y se quedó junto a sus puertos.

18 Z ebulun is a people jeoparded their lives unto death, Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.

Zabulón era pueblo que despreció su vida hasta la muerte. Y también Neftalí, en las alturas del campo.

19 K ings came,—they fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan; At Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; They took no spoil of silver.

Vinieron los reyes y pelearon; pelearon entonces los reyes de Canaán en Taanac, cerca de las aguas de Meguido; no tomaron despojos de plata.

20 F rom heaven was the fight; The stars from their courses fought with Sisera.

Desde los cielos las estrellas pelearon, desde sus órbitas pelearon contra Sísara.

21 T he torrent of Kishon swept them away, That ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon. My soul, thou hast trodden down strength!

El torrente Cisón los barrió, el antiguo torrente, el torrente Cisón. Marcha, alma mía con poder.

22 T hen did the horse-hoofs clatter with the coursings, The coursings of their steeds.

Entonces resonaron los cascos de los caballos por el galopar, el galopar de sus valientes corceles.

23 C urse Meroz, saith the Angel of Jehovah; Curse, curse the inhabitants thereof; For they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah among the mighty.

“Maldecid a Meroz”, dijo el ángel del Señor, “maldecid, maldecid a sus moradores; porque no vinieron en ayuda del Señor, en ayuda del Señor contra los guerreros.”

24 B lessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, Blessed above women in the tent!

Bendita entre las mujeres es Jael, mujer de Heber ceneo; bendita sea entre las mujeres de la tienda.

25 H e asked water, she gave milk; In the nobles' bowl she brought forth cream.

El pidió agua, y ella le dio leche; en taza de nobles le trajo cuajada.

26 S he put her hand to the tent-pin, And her right hand to the workmen's hammer; And she smote Sisera, she struck through his head, Shattered and pierced through his temples.

Extendió ella la mano hacia la estaca de la tienda, y su diestra hacia el martillo de trabajadores. Entonces golpeó a Sísara, desbarató su cabeza; destruyó y perforó sus sienes.

27 B etween her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell, overcome.

A sus pies él se encorvó, cayó, quedó tendido; a sus pies se encorvó y cayó; donde se encorvó, allí quedó muerto.

28 T hem other of Sisera looketh out at the window, And crieth through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the trampings of his chariots?

Miraba por la ventana y se lamentaba la madre de Sísara, por las celosías: “¿Por qué se tarda en venir su carro? ¿Por qué se retrasa el trotar de sus carros?”

29 T he wise amongst her ladies answer, Yea, she returneth answer to herself,

Sus sabias princesas le respondían, aun a sí misma ella repite sus palabras:

30 H ave they not found, divided the booty, A damsel, two damsels, to each? A booty of dyed stuffs for Sisera, A booty of dyed stuffs of embroidery, Dyed stuff of double embroidery for the neck of a spoiler?

“¿Acaso no han hallado el botín y se lo están repartiendo? ¿Una doncella, dos doncellas para cada guerrero; para Sísara un botín de tela de colores, un botín de tela de colores bordada, tela de colores de doble bordadura en el cuello del victorioso ?”

31 S o let all thine enemies perish, Jehovah! But let them that love him be as the rising of the sun in its might. And the land had rest forty years.

Así perezcan todos tus enemigos, oh Señor; mas sean los que te aman como la salida del sol en su fuerza. Y el país tuvo descanso por cuarenta años.
