1 A nd Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, Rise up and go, thou and thy household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn; for Jehovah has called for a famine, and it shall also come upon the land for seven years.

Y Eliseo habló a la mujer, a cuyo hijo él había devuelto la vida, diciendo: Levántate y vete, tú y tu casa, y reside donde puedas residir, porque el Señor ha llamado al hambre que vendrá sobre la tierra por siete años.

2 A nd the woman rose up, and did according to the saying of the man of God, and went, she and her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

Entonces la mujer se levantó e hizo conforme a la palabra del hombre de Dios, y se fue ella con los de su casa y residió en la tierra de los filisteos siete años.

3 A nd it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines; and she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.

Y aconteció que al cabo de los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los filisteos; y salió a implorar al rey por su casa y por su campo.

4 A nd the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha has done.

Y el rey estaba hablando con Giezi, criado del hombre de Dios, diciéndole: Te ruego que me cuentes todas las grandes cosas que ha hecho Eliseo.

5 A nd it came to pass as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

Y sucedió que mientras él contaba al rey cómo había devuelto la vida a un muerto, he aquí, la mujer a cuyo hijo había devuelto la vida, imploró al rey por su casa y por su campo. Y Giezi dijo: Oh rey señor mío, ésta es la mujer y éste es su hijo, al que Eliseo devolvió la vida.

6 A nd the king asked the woman, and she told him. And the king appointed a certain chamberlain, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the revenue of the land since the day that she left the country even until now.

Cuando el rey preguntó a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Entonces el rey le asignó un oficial, diciendo: Restáura le todo lo que era suyo y todo el fruto del campo desde el día que dejó el país hasta ahora. Eliseo en Damasco

7 A nd Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-Hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him saying, The man of God is come hither.

Entonces Eliseo fue a Damasco. Y Ben-adad, rey de Aram, estaba enfermo, y le dieron aviso, diciendo: El hombre de Dios ha venido acá.

8 A nd the king said to Hazael, Take a present in thy hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Jehovah by him, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?

Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma un presente en tu mano y ve al encuentro del hombre de Dios y consulta al Señor por medio de él, diciendo: “¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad ?”

9 A nd Hazael went to meet him, and took with him a present, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden; and he came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?

Y Hazael fue a recibirlo, y tomó un presente en su mano de todo lo bueno de Damasco, la carga de cuarenta camellos; y vino y se puso delante de él y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad, rey de Aram, me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: “¿Sanaré de esta enfermedad ?”

10 A nd Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, Thou wilt certainly recover. But Jehovah has shewn me that he shall certainly die.

Entonces Eliseo le dijo: Ve y dile: “Ciertamente sanarás ”; pero el Señor me ha mostrado que ciertamente morirá.

11 A nd he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.

Y puso rígido su rostro y fijó sus ojos en él hasta que se sintió avergonzado, y el hombre de Dios lloró.

12 A nd Hazael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel: their strongholds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou kill with the sword, and wilt dash in pieces their children, and rip up their women with child.

Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Entonces respondió: Porque sé el mal que harás a los hijos de Israel: incendiarás sus fortalezas, matarás a espada a sus jóvenes, estrellarás a sus niños y rasgarás el vientre a sus mujeres encinta.

13 A nd Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha said, Jehovah has shewn me that thou wilt be king over Syria.

Entonces Hazael dijo: Pero, ¿qué es tu siervo, sino un perro, para que haga tan enorme cosa ? Y Eliseo respondió: El Señor me ha mostrado que tú serás rey de Aram.

14 A nd he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to thee? And he said, He told me thou wouldest certainly recover.

Entonces él se alejó de Eliseo y regresó a su señor, quien le dijo: ¿Qué te dijo Eliseo? Y él respondió: Me dijo que ciertamente sanarás.

15 A nd it came to pass the next day, that he took the coverlet and dipped in water, and spread it over his face, so that he died; and Hazael reigned in his stead.

Pero al día siguiente Hazael tomó la manta, la empapó en agua y se la puso al rey sobre la cara, y murió. Y Hazael reinó en su lugar. Reinados de Joram y Ocozías

16 A nd in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.

En el año quinto de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, siendo Josafat rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.

17 H e was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

Tenía treinta y dos años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó ocho años en Jerusalén.

18 A nd he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the sight of Jehovah.

Y anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, tal como había hecho la casa de Acab (porque la hija de Acab era su mujer); e hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

19 B ut Jehovah would not destroy Judah, for David his servant's sake, as he had promised him to give him always a lamp for his sons.

Sin embargo, el Señor no quiso destruir a Judá por amor a David su siervo, ya que le había prometido darle una lámpara por medio de sus hijos para siempre.

20 I n his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they set a king over themselves.

En sus días se rebeló Edom contra el dominio de Judá, y pusieron rey sobre ellos.

21 A nd Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him; and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites who had surrounded him, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled into their tents.

Entonces pasó Joram a Zair, y todos sus carros con él. Y aconteció que se levantó de noche y atacó a los edomitas que lo tenían cercado a él y a los capitanes de los carros, pero su ejército huyó a sus tiendas.

22 B ut the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.

Y Edom se rebeló contra el dominio de Judá, hasta el día de hoy. Entonces Libna se rebeló en ese mismo tiempo.

23 A nd the rest of the acts of Joram and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

Los demás hechos de Joram y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

24 A nd Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

Y durmió Joram con sus padres y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David; y su hijo Ocozías reinó en su lugar.

25 I n the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign.

En el año doce de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.

26 A haziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

Ocozías tenía veintidós años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un año en Jerusalén. Y el nombre de su madre era Atalía, nieta de Omri, rey de Israel.

27 A nd he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

El también anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab, e hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho la casa de Acab, porque era yerno de Acab.

28 A nd he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael the king of Syria at Ramoth-Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

Entonces fue con Joram, hijo de Acab, a la guerra contra Hazael, rey de Aram, en Ramot de Galaad; y los arameos hirieron a Joram.

29 A nd king Joram returned to be healed in Jizreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab at Jizreel, for he was sick.

Y el rey Joram regresó a Jezreel para ser curado de las heridas que los arameos le habían hecho en Ramot, cuando peleó contra Hazael, rey de Aram. Entonces Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, descendió para visitar a Joram, hijo de Acab, en Jezreel porque estaba enfermo.
