1 T he words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Palabras de Amós, que fue uno de los pastores de Tecoa, de lo que vio en visión acerca de Israel en días de Uzías, rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam, hijo de Joás, rey de Israel, dos años antes del terremoto.

2 A nd he said, Jehovah roareth from Zion, and uttereth his voice from Jerusalem; and the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withereth.

Y dijo: El Señor ruge desde Sion, y desde Jerusalén da su voz; los pastizales de los pastores están de duelo, y se seca la cumbre del Carmelo.

3 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke, because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Damasco, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque trillaron a Galaad con trillos de hierro.

4 A nd I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

Por eso enviaré fuego sobre la casa de Hazael, y consumirá los palacios de Ben-adad.

5 A nd I will break the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the valley of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Beth-Eden; and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith Jehovah.

También romperé el cerrojo de Damasco, extirparé al morador del valle de Avén y al que empuña el cetro de Bet-edén, y el pueblo de Aram será desterrado a Kir —dice el Señor.

6 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gazah, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver up to Edom.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Gaza, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, por haber deportado a todo un pueblo para entregar lo a Edom.

7 A nd I will send a fire on the wall of Gazah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Gaza, y consumirá sus palacios.

8 A nd I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn my hand against Ekron; and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord Jehovah.

También extirparé al morador de Asdod, y al que empuña el cetro de Ascalón; desataré mi poder sobre Ecrón, y el remanente de los filisteos perecerá —dice el Señor Dios.

9 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant.

Así dice el Señor: por tres transgresiones de Tiro, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, por haber entregado todo un pueblo cautivo a Edom sin acordarse del pacto de hermanos.

10 A nd I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.

Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre la muralla de Tiro, y consumirá sus palacios.

11 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because he pursued his brother with the sword, and cast off all pity; and his anger did tear continually, and he kept his wrath for ever.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de Edom, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque con espada persiguió a su hermano, y suprimió su compasión; su ira continuó despedazando y mantuvo su furor para siempre.

12 A nd I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Enviaré, pues, fuego sobre Temán, y consumirá los palacios de Bosra.

13 T hus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not revoke its sentence; because they ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

Así dice el Señor: Por tres transgresiones de los hijos de Amón, y por cuatro, no revocaré su castigo, porque abrieron los vientres de las mujeres encinta de Galaad para ensanchar sus fronteras.

14 A nd I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.

Encenderé, pues, fuego en la muralla de Rabá, y consumirá sus palacios en medio de gritos de guerra en el día de la batalla, en medio de una tempestad en el día de la tormenta;

15 A nd their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith Jehovah.

y su rey irá al destierro, él y sus príncipes con él —dice el Señor.
