1 Y e shall make yourselves no idols, neither rear you up for yourselves carved image, or statue, nor shall ye set up a figured stone in your land, to bow down unto it; for I am Jehovah your God.

“No os haréis ídolos, ni os levantaréis imagen tallada ni pilares sagrados, ni pondréis en vuestra tierra piedra grabada para inclinaros ante ella; porque yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios.

2 Y e shall observe my sabbaths, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am Jehovah.

“Guardaréis mis días de reposo, y tendréis en reverencia mi santuario; yo soy el Señor.

3 I f ye walk in my statutes, and observe my commandments and do them,

“ Si andáis en mis estatutos y guardáis mis mandamientos para ponerlos por obra,

4 t hen I will give your rain in the season thereof, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit;

yo os daré lluvias en su tiempo, de manera que la tierra dará sus productos, y los árboles del campo darán su fruto.

5 a nd your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing-time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land securely.

“Ciertamente, vuestra trilla os durará hasta la vendimia, y la vendimia hasta el tiempo de la siembra. Comeréis, pues, vuestro pan hasta que os saciéis y habitaréis seguros en vuestra tierra.

6 A nd I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; and I will put away the evil beasts out of the land; and the sword shall not go through your land.

“Daré también paz en la tierra, para que durmáis sin que nadie os atemorice. Asimismo eliminaré bestias dañinas de vuestra tierra, y no pasará espada por vuestra tierra.

7 A nd ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword;

“Y vosotros perseguiréis a vuestros enemigos y caerán a espada delante de vosotros;

8 a nd five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; and your enemies shall fall beside you by the sword.

cinco de vosotros perseguirán a cien, y cien de vosotros perseguirán a diez mil, y vuestros enemigos caerán a espada delante de vosotros.

9 A nd I will turn my face towards you and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

“Me volveré hacia vosotros y os haré fecundos y os multiplicaré y confirmaré mi pacto con vosotros.

10 A nd ye shall eat old store, and clear away the old because of the new.

“Y comeréis de las provisiones almacenadas y tendréis que sacar lo almacenado para guardar lo nuevo.

11 A nd I will set my habitation among you; and my soul shall not abhor you;

“Además, haré mi morada en medio de vosotros, y mi alma no os aborrecerá.

12 a nd I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be to me a people.

“Andaré entre vosotros y seré vuestro Dios, y vosotros seréis mi pueblo.

13 I am Jehovah your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you walk upright.

“Yo soy el Señor vuestro Dios, que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto para que no fuerais esclavos de ellos; rompí las varas de vuestro yugo y os hice andar erguidos. Resultados de la desobediencia

14 B ut if ye hearken not unto me, and do not all these commandments,

“ Pero si no me obedecéis y no ponéis por obra todos estos mandamientos,

15 a nd if ye shall despise my statutes, and if your soul shall abhor mine ordinances, so that ye do not all my commandments, that ye break my covenant,

si despreciáis mis estatutos y si aborrece vuestra alma mis ordenanzas para no poner por obra todos mis mandamientos, quebrantando así mi pacto,

16 I also will do this unto you—I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and fever, which shall cause the eyes to fail, and the soul to waste away; and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

yo, por mi parte, os haré esto: Pondré sobre vosotros terror súbito, tisis y fiebre que consuman los ojos y hagan languidecer el alma. En vano sembraréis vuestra semilla, pues vuestros enemigos la comerán.

17 A nd I will set my face against you, that ye may be routed before your enemies; they that hate you shall have dominion over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.

“Fijaré mi rostro contra vosotros, para que seáis derrotados delante de vuestros enemigos; los que os aborrecen os dominarán y huiréis sin que nadie os persiga.

18 A nd if for this ye hearken not unto me, I will punish you sevenfold more for your sins,

“Y si aun con todas estas cosas no me obedecéis, entonces os castigaré siete veces más por vuestros pecados.

19 a nd I will break the arrogance of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as bronze,

“También quebrantaré el orgullo de vuestro poderío, y haré vuestros cielos como hierro y vuestra tierra como bronce.

20 a nd your strength shall be spent in vain, and your land shall not yield its produce; and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.

“Y vuestras fuerzas se consumirán en vano, porque vuestra tierra no dará su producto y los árboles de la tierra no darán su fruto.

21 A nd if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring sevenfold more plagues upon you according to your sins.

“Y si procedéis con hostilidad contra mí y no queréis obedecerme, aumentaré la plaga sobre vosotros siete veces conforme a vuestros pecados.

22 A nd I will send the beasts of the field among you, that they may rob you of your children, and cut off your cattle, and make you few in number; and your streets shall be desolate.

“Soltaré entre vosotros las fieras del campo que os privarán de vuestros hijos, destruirán vuestro ganado y os reducirán en número de manera que vuestros caminos queden desiertos.

23 A nd if ye will not be disciplined by me through these, but walk contrary unto me,

“Y si con estas cosas no os enmendáis ante mí, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí,

24 t hen will I also walk contrary unto you, and will smite you, even I, sevenfold for your sins.

entonces yo procederé con hostilidad contra vosotros; y yo mismo os heriré siete veces por vuestros pecados.

25 A nd I will bring a sword upon you that avengeth with the vengeance of the covenant, and ye shall be gathered together into your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

“Y traeré sobre vosotros una espada que ejecutará venganza a causa del pacto; y cuando os reunáis en vuestras ciudades, enviaré pestilencia entre vosotros, para que seáis entregados en manos del enemigo.

26 W hen I break the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall deliver you the bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

“Cuando yo os quite el sustento del pan, diez mujeres cocerán vuestro pan en un horno, y os darán vuestro pan en cantidades medidas, de modo que comeréis y no os saciaréis.

27 A nd if for this ye hearken not to me, but walk contrary unto me,

“Si a pesar de todo esto no me obedecéis, sino que procedéis con hostilidad contra mí,

28 t hen I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven-fold for your sins.

entonces yo procederé con hostilidad airada contra vosotros, y yo mismo os castigaré siete veces por vuestros pecados.

29 A nd ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

“Comeréis la carne de vuestros hijos, y la carne de vuestras hijas comeréis.

30 A nd I will lay waste your high places, and cut down your sun-pillars, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols; and my soul shall abhor you.

“Y destruiré vuestros lugares altos, derribaré vuestros altares de incienso y amontonaré vuestros cadáveres sobre los cadáveres de vuestros ídolos, pues mi alma os aborrecerá.

31 A nd I will lay waste your cities and desolate your sanctuaries; and I will not smell your sweet odours.

“También dejaré en ruinas vuestras ciudades, desolaré vuestros santuarios y no oleré vuestros suaves aromas.

32 A nd I will bring the land into desolation; that your enemies who dwell there in may be astonished at it.

“Asolaré la tierra de tal modo que vuestros enemigos que se establezcan en ella queden pasmados.

33 A nd I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out the sword after you; and your land shall be desolation, and your cities waste.

“A vosotros, sin embargo, os esparciré entre las naciones y desenvainaré la espada en pos de vosotros, y vuestra tierra será asolada y vuestras ciudades quedarán en ruinas.

34 T hen shall the land enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, when ye are in your enemies' land; then shall the land rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

“Entonces la tierra gozará de sus días de reposo durante todos los días de su desolación, mientras que habitéis en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; entonces descansará la tierra y gozará de sus días de reposo.

35 A ll the days of the desolation it shall rest, which it did not rest on your sabbaths, when ye dwelt therein.

“Durante todos los días de su desolación la tierra guardará el descanso que no guardó en vuestros días de reposo mientras habitabais en ella.

36 A nd as to those that remain of you—I will send faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies, that the sound of a driven leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth;

“En cuanto a los que queden de vosotros, infundiré cobardía en sus corazones en la tierra de sus enemigos; y el sonido de una hoja que se mueva los ahuyentará, y aun cuando nadie los persiga, huirán como quien huye de la espada, y caerán.

37 a nd they shall stumble one over another, as it were before a sword, when none pursueth; and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

“Tropezarán unos con otros como si huyeran de la espada aunque nadie los persiga; no tendréis fuerza para hacer frente a vuestros enemigos.

38 A nd ye shall perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up.

“Y pereceréis entre las naciones y os devorará la tierra de vuestros enemigos.

39 A nd they that remain of you shall waste away through their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also through the iniquities of their fathers shall they waste away with them.

“Así que los que sobrevivan de vosotros se pudrirán a causa de su iniquidad en la tierra de vuestros enemigos; también a causa de las iniquidades de sus antepasados se pudrirán juntamente con ellos.

40 A nd they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, through their unfaithfulness wherein they were unfaithful to me, and also that they have walked contrary unto me,

“Si confiesan su iniquidad y la iniquidad de sus antepasados, por las infidelidades que cometieron contra mí, y también porque procedieron con hostilidad contra mí

41 s o that I also walked contrary unto them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,

(yo también procedía con hostilidad contra ellos para llevarlos a la tierra de sus enemigos), o si su corazón incircunciso se humilla, y reconocen sus iniquidades,

42 I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

entonces yo me acordaré de mi pacto con Jacob, me acordaré también de mi pacto con Isaac y de mi pacto con Abraham, y me acordaré de la tierra.

43 F or the land shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its sabbaths, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they despised my judgments, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

“Porque la tierra será abandonada por ellos, y gozará de sus días de reposo mientras quede desolada con su ausencia. Entretanto, ellos pagarán su iniquidad, porque despreciaron mis ordenanzas y su alma aborreció mis estatutos.

44 A nd yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, to break my covenant with them, for I am Jehovah their God.

“Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, cuando estén en la tierra de sus enemigos no los desecharé ni los aborreceré tanto como para destruirlos, quebrantando mi pacto con ellos, porque yo soy el Señor su Dios,

45 B ut I will remember toward them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be their God: I am Jehovah.

sino que por ellos me acordaré del pacto con sus antepasados, que yo saqué de la tierra de Egipto a la vista de las naciones, para ser su Dios. Yo soy el Señor.”

46 T hese are the statutes and ordinances and laws which Jehovah made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.

Estos son los estatutos, ordenanzas y leyes que el Señor estableció entre El y los hijos de Israel por medio de Moisés en el monte Sinaí.
