1 A nd he began to say to them in parables, A man planted a vineyard, and made a fence round and dug a wine-vat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and left the country.

Entonces comenzó a hablarles en parábolas: Un hombre planto una viña y la cerco con un muro, cavo un estanque debajo del lagar y edifico una torre; la arrendó a labradores y se fue de viaje.

2 A nd he sent a bondman to the husbandmen at the season, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

Al tiempo de la vendimia envió un siervo a los labradores para recibir de los labradores su parte de los frutos de la viña.

3 B ut they took him, and beat, and sent away empty.

Pero ellos, echándole mano, lo golpearon y lo enviaron con las manos vacías.

4 A nd again he sent to them another bondman; and him they struck on the head, and sent away with insult.

De nuevo les mandó otro siervo, y a él lo hirieron en la cabeza y lo trataron vergonzosamente.

5 A nd he sent another, and him they killed; and many others, beating some and killing some.

Y envió a otro y a éste lo mataron; y así con otros muchos, golpeando a unos y matando a otros.

6 H aving yet therefore one beloved son, he sent also him to them the last, saying, They will have respect for my son.

Todavía le quedaba uno, un hijo amado; y les envió a este último, diciendo: “Respetarán a mi hijo.”

7 B ut those husbandmen said to one another, This is the heir: come, let us kill him and the inheritance will be ours.

Pero aquellos labradores se dijeron entre sí: “Este es el heredero; ¡venid, matémosle, y la heredad será nuestra!”

8 A nd they took him and killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.

Y echándole mano, lo mataron y lo arrojaron fuera de la viña.

9 W hat therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others.

¿Qué hará, entonces, el dueño de la viña? Vendrá y destruirá a los labradores, y dará la viña a otros.

10 H ave ye not even read this scripture, The stone which they that builded rejected, this has become the corner-stone:

¿Ni aun esta Escritura habéis leído: “ La piedra que desecharon los constructores, esa, en piedra angular se ha convertido;

11 t his is of Lord, and it is wonderful in our eyes?

esto fue hecho de parte del Señor, y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos ”?

12 A nd they sought to lay hold of him, and they feared the crowd; for they knew that he had spoken the parable of them. And they left him and went away.

Y procuraban prenderle, pero temían a la multitud, porque comprendieron que contra ellos había dicho la parábola. Y dejándole, se fueron. El pago del impuesto al César

13 A nd they send to him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, that they might catch him in speaking.

Y le enviaron algunos de los fariseos y de los herodianos para sorprenderle en alguna palabra.

14 A nd they come and say to him, Teacher, we know that thou art true, and carest not for any one; for thou regardest not men's person, but teachest the way of God with truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?

Y cuando ellos llegaron, le dijeron: Maestro, sabemos que eres veraz y que no buscas el favor de nadie, porque eres imparcial, y enseñas el camino de Dios con verdad. ¿Es lícito pagar impuesto al César, o no?

15 S hould we give, or should we not give? But he knowing their hypocrisy said unto them, Why tempt ye me? Bring me a denarius that I may see.

¿Pagaremos o no pagaremos ? Pero El, dándose cuenta de su hipocresía, les dijo: ¿Por qué me estáis poniendo a prueba? Traedme un denario para verlo.

16 A nd they brought. And he says to them, Whose this image and superscription? And they said to him, Caesar's.

Se lo trajeron, y El les dijo: ¿De quién es esta imagen y la inscripción? Y ellos le dijeron: Del César.

17 A nd Jesus answering said to them, Pay what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God. And they wondered at him.

Entonces Jesús les dijo: Dad al César lo que es del César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios. Y se maravillaban de El. Pregunta sobre la resurrección

18 A nd Sadducees come to him, that say there is no resurrection; and they demanded of him saying,

Y algunos saduceos (los que dicen que no hay resurrección) se le acercaron, y le preguntaban, diciendo:

19 T eacher, Moses wrote to us that if any one's brother die, and leave a wife behind, and leave no children, that his brother shall take his wife, and raise up seed to his brother.

Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito: Si el hermano de alguno muere y deja mujer y no deja hijo, que su hermano tome la mujer y levante descendencia a su hermano.

20 T here were seven brethren; and the first took a wife, and dying did not leave seed;

Hubo siete hermanos; y el primero tomó esposa, y murió sin dejar descendencia.

21 a nd the second took her and died, and neither did he leave seed; and the third likewise.

Y el segundo la tomó, y murió sin dejar descendencia; y asimismo el tercero;

22 A nd the seven did not leave seed. Last of all the woman also died.

y así los siete, sin dejar descendencia. Y por último murió también la mujer.

23 I n the resurrection, when they shall rise again, of which of them shall she be wife, for the seven had her as wife?

En la resurrección, cuando resuciten, ¿de cuál de ellos será mujer? Pues los siete la tuvieron por mujer.

24 A nd Jesus answering said to them, Do not ye therefore err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?

Jesús les dijo: ¿No es ésta la razón por la que estáis equivocados: que no entendéis las Escrituras ni el poder de Dios?

25 F or when they rise from among dead they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in the heavens.

Porque cuando resuciten de entre los muertos, ni se casarán ni serán dados en matrimonio, sino que serán como los ángeles en los cielos.

26 B ut concerning the dead that they rise, have ye not read in the book of Moses, in the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, I the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

Y en cuanto a que los muertos resucitan, ¿no habéis leído en el libro de Moisés, en el pasaje sobre la zarza ardiendo, cómo Dios le habló, diciendo: “ Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob ”?

27 H e is not the God of dead, but of living. Ye therefore greatly err.

El no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos; vosotros estáis muy equivocados. El mandamiento supremo

28 A nd one of the scribes who had come up, and had heard them reasoning together, perceiving that he had answered them well, demanded of him, Which is first commandment of all?

Cuando uno de los escribas se acercó, los oyó discutir, y reconociendo que les había contestado bien, le preguntó: ¿Cuál mandamiento es el más importante de todos?

29 A nd Jesus answered him, first commandment of all, Hear, Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord;

Jesús respondió: El más importante es: “ Escucha, Israel; el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es;

30 a nd thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding, and with all thy strength. This is first commandment.

y amaras al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazon, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente, y con toda tu fuerza.”

31 A nd a second like it this: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is not another commandment greater than these.

El segundo es éste: “ Amaras a tu projimo como a ti mismo.” No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos.

32 A nd the scribe said to him, Right, teacher; thou hast spoken according to truth. For he is one, and there is none other besides him;

Y el escriba le dijo: Muy bien, Maestro; con verdad has dicho que El es uno, y no hay otro ademas de El;

33 a nd to love him with all the heart, and with all the intelligence, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbour as one's self, is more than all the burnt-offerings and sacrifices.

y que amarle con todo el corazon y con todo el entendimiento y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al projimo como a uno mismo, es más que todos los holocaustos y los sacrificios.

34 A nd Jesus, seeing that he had answered intelligently, said to him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared question him any more.

Viendo Jesús que él había respondido sabiamente, le dijo: No estás lejos del reino de Dios. Y después de eso, nadie se aventuraba a hacerle más preguntas. Jesús, Hijo y Señor de David

35 A nd Jesus answering said teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say that the Christ is son of David?

Y tomando la palabra, Jesús decía mientras enseñaba en el templo: ¿Por qué dicen los escribas que el Cristo es hijo de David ?

36 D avid himself said in the Holy Spirit, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on my right hand until I put thine enemies footstool of thy feet.

David mismo dijo por el Espíritu Santo: “ El Señor dijo a mi Señor: ‘ sientate a mi diestra, hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies.’”

37 D avid himself calls him Lord, and whence is he his son? And the mass of the people heard him gladly.

David mismo le llama “Señor.” ¿En qué sentido es, pues, su hijo? Y la gran multitud le escuchaba con gusto. Advertencia contra los escribas

38 A nd he said to them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, who like to walk about in long robes, and salutations in the marketplaces,

Y en su enseñanza les decía: Cuidaos de los escribas, a quienes les gusta andar con vestiduras largas, y aman los saludos respetuosos en las plazas,

39 a nd first seats in the synagogues, and first places at suppers;

los primeros asientos en las sinagogas y los lugares de honor en los banquetes;

40 w ho devour the houses of widows, and as a pretext make long prayers. These shall receive a severer judgment.

que devoran las casas de las viudas, y por las apariencias hacen largas oraciones; éstos recibirán mayor condenación. La ofrenda de la viuda

41 A nd Jesus, having sat down opposite the treasury, saw how the crowd was casting money into the treasury; and many rich cast in much.

Jesús se sentó frente al arca del tesoro, y observaba cómo la multitud echaba dinero en el arca del tesoro; y muchos ricos echaban grandes cantidades.

42 A nd a poor widow came and cast in two mites, which is a farthing.

Y llegó una viuda pobre y echó dos pequeñas monedas de cobre, o sea, un cuadrante.

43 A nd having called his disciples to he said to them, Verily I say unto you, This poor widow has cast in more than all who have cast into the treasury:

Y llamando a sus discípulos, les dijo: En verdad os digo, que esta viuda pobre echó más que todos los contribuyentes al tesoro;

44 f or all have cast in of that which they had in abundance, but she of her destitution has cast in all that she had, the whole of her living.

porque todos ellos echaron de lo que les sobra, pero ella, de su pobreza echó todo lo que poseía, todo lo que tenía para vivir.
