1 A nd he cried in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Draw near, ye that have charge of the city, and every man his destroying weapon in his hand.

Тогава Той извика в ушите ми с висок глас и каза: Нека се приближат онези, на които е заръчано за града, всеки с изтребителното си оръжие в ръка.

2 A nd behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which is turned toward the north, and every man his slaughter weapon in his hand; and in the midst of them, one man clothed with linen, with a writer's ink-horn by his side; and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.

И, ето, шест мъже идеха по пътя от горната порта, която гледа към север, всеки с разрушително оръжие в ръка, и сред тях един човек, облечен в ленено, с писарска мастилница на кръста му; и като влязоха, застанаха при медния жертвеник.

3 A nd the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house; and he called to the man clothed with linen, who had the writer's ink-horn by his side;

А славата на Израелевия Бог се издигна от херувимите, над които беше, и застана над прага на дома; и Той извика към облечения в ленено мъж, който имаше на кръста си писарска мастилница.

4 a nd Jehovah said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.

Господ му каза: Мини през града, през Йерусалим, и сложи белег върху челата на мъжете, които въздишат и плачат поради всичките мерзости, които стават сред него.

5 A nd to the others he said in my hearing, Go after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have pity.

А на другите каза, при което аз слушах: Минете след него през града и поразете; окото ви да не пощади, нито да покажете милост;

6 S lay utterly the old man, the young man, and the maiden, and little children, and women; but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the elders who were before the house.

старци, юноши и девици, младенци и жени избийте без остатък; но не се приближавайте към никого от онези, върху които е белегът; и започнете от светилището Ми. И така, те започнаха от старейшините, които бяха пред дома.

7 A nd he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go forth. And they went forth, and smote in the city.

Тогава им каза: Осквернете дома и напълнете дворовете с убити; излезте. И те излязоха и поразяваха в града.

8 A nd it came to pass, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! wilt thou destroy all the remnant of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

Докато те поразяваха, аз останах, паднах на лицето си и извиках: Горко, Господи Йехова! Ще изтребиш ли всички останали от Израел, като изливаш гнева Си върху Йерусалим?

9 A nd he said unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness; for they say, Jehovah hath forsaken the earth, and Jehovah seeth not.

Той ми отговори: Беззаконието на Израелевия и Юдовия дом стана твърде голямо; земята е пълна с кръв и градът - изпълнен с извращение на съд, защото си казват: Господ е напуснал земята, и: Господ не вижда.

10 A nd as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense their way upon their head.

Затова и от Моя страна окото Ми няма да ги пощади и Аз няма да покажа милост, а ще възвърна постъпките им върху главите им.

11 A nd behold, the man clothed with linen, who had the ink-horn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.

И, ето, облеченият в ленено мъж, който имаше на кръста си мастилницата, даде отчет за работата, като каза: Направих, както Ти ми заповяда.
