1 A nd he made him houses in the city of David, and prepared a place for the ark of God, and spread a tent for it.

След това Давид си построи и други къщи в Давидовия град; приготви и място за Божия ковчег и постави шатър за него.

2 T hen David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites, for them has Jehovah chosen to carry the ark of God, and to serve him for ever.

Тогава Давид каза: Не трябва да вдигат Божия ковчег други освен левитите, защото тях избра Господ да носят Божия ковчег и да Му служат винаги.

3 A nd David assembled all Israel to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Jehovah to its place that he had prepared for it.

И Давид събра целия Израел в Йерусалим, за да пренесат Господния ковчег на мястото, което беше приготвил за него.

4 A nd David gathered the sons of Aaron and the Levites:

Давид събра Аароновите потомци и левитите;

5 o f the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twenty;

от Каатовите потомци - началника Уриил и братята му, сто и двадесет души;

6 o f the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty;

от Мерариевите потомци - началника Асайя и братята му, двеста и двадесет души;

7 o f the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brethren a hundred and thirty;

от Гирсоновите потомци - началника Йоил и братята му, сто и тридесет души;

8 o f the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brethren two hundred;

от Елисафановите потомци - началника Семая и братята му, двеста души;

9 o f the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brethren eighty;

от Хевроновите потомци - началника Елиил и братята му, осемдесет души;

10 o f the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brethren a hundred and twelve.

от Озииловите потомци - началника Аминадав и братята му, сто и двадесет души.

11 A nd David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab;

Давид повика свещениците Садок и Авиатар и левитите Уриил, Асайя, Йоил, Семая, Емиил и Аминадав и им каза:

12 a nd he said to them, Ye are the chief fathers of the Levites; hallow yourselves, ye and your brethren, that ye may bring up the ark of Jehovah the God of Israel to I have prepared for it.

Вие сте началници на бащините домове на левитите; осветете се, вие и братята ви, за да пренесете ковчега на Господа, Израелевия Бог, на мястото, което съм приготвил за него.

13 F or because ye did not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

Защото понеже първия път вие не го вдигнахте, Господ, нашият Бог, нанесе поражение върху нас, защото не Го потърсихме според както е заповядано.

14 S o the priests and the Levites hallowed themselves to bring up the ark of Jehovah the God of Israel.

И така, свещениците и левитите осветиха себе си, за да пренесат ковчега на Господа, Израелевия Бог.

15 A nd the children of the Levites bore the ark of God upon their shoulders with the staves upon them, as Moses had commanded according to the word of Jehovah.

(Левиевите синове бяха тези, които носеха Божия ковчег с върлините горе на раменете си, както заповяда Моисей според Господнето слово.)

16 A nd David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brethren, the singers, with instruments of music, lutes, and harps, and cymbals, that they should sound aloud, lifting up the voice with joy.

Давид каза на левитските началници да поставят братята си - певците с музикални инструменти, псалтири, арфи и кимвали, за да свирят весело със силен глас.

17 A nd the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brethren, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

И така, левитите поставиха Еман, Йоилевия син, а от братята му Асаф - Варахииния син; а от братята им, Мерариевите потомци - Етан, Кисиевия син;

18 a nd with them their brethren of the second, Zechariah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers;

и с тях братята им от втория чин, вратарите Захария, Вена, Яазиил, Семирамот, Ехиил, Уний, Елиав, Ванайя, Маасия, Мататия, Елифалей, Микнейя, Овид-едом и Еиил.

19 a nd the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, to sound aloud with cymbals of brass;

Така певците Еман, Асаф и Етан бяха определени да дрънкат с медни кимвали;

20 a nd Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Unni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with lutes on Alamoth;

а Захария, Азиил, Семирамот, Ехиил, Уний, Елиав, Маасия и Ванайя - с псалтири по Аламот;

21 a nd Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom and Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps on the Sheminith to lead.

а Мататия, Елифалей, Микнейя, Овид-едом, Еиил и Азазия - с арфи по Семинит, за да ръководят пеенето.

22 A nd Chenaniah, chief of the Levites for the music, gave instruction in music, for he was skilful.

А Ханания, главен певец на левитите, ръководеше пеенето, понеже беше изкусен.

23 A nd Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.

А Варахия и Елкана бяха вратари за ковчега.

24 A nd Shebaniah, and Jehoshaphat, and Nethaneel, and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew with the trumpets before the ark of God; and Obed-Edom and Jehijah were doorkeepers for the ark.

А свещениците Севания, Йосафат, Натанаил, Амасий, Захария, Ванайя и Елиезер свиреха с тръбите пред Божия ковчег; а Овид-едом и Ехия бяха вратари за ковчега.

25 A nd David, and the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands, went to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.

И така, Давид и Израелевите старейшини и хилядниците отидоха да вдигнат с веселие ковчега на Господния завет от Овид-едомовата къща.

26 A nd it came to pass, when God helped the Levites that bore the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, that they sacrificed seven bullocks and seven rams.

И понеже Бог помагаше на левитите, които носеха ковчега на Господния завет, те пожертваха седем телета и седем овена.

27 A nd David was clothed with a robe of byssus, and all the Levites that bore the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah chief of the music of the singers; and David had upon him a linen ephod.

Давид беше облечен с одежда от висон, както и всички левити, които носеха ковчега, и певците, и Ханания, ръководителят на певците; а Давид носеше ленен ефод.

28 A nd all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah with shouting, and with sound of the trumpet, and with clarions, and with cymbals, playing aloud with lutes and harps.

Така целият Израел внасяше ковчега на Господния завет с възклицание, с глас от рог, с тръби и кимвали, като свиреха с псалтири и арфи.

29 A nd it came to pass as the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked through a window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

А когато ковчегът на Господния завет влизаше в Давидовия град, Михала, Сауловата дъщеря, погледна от прозореца и като видя, че цар Давид скача и играе, го презря в сърцето си.
