1 I n the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying:

В седмия месец, на двадесет и първия ден от месеца, Господнето слово дойде чрез пророк Агей и каза:

2 “ Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying:

Говорѝ сега на управителя на Юдея Зоровавел, Салатииловия син, и на първосвещеника Исус, Йоседековия син, и на оцелелия народ:

3 ‘ Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing?

Кой остава между вас, който е видял този дом в предишната му слава? А какъв го виждате сега? Не е ли такъв дом в очите ви като нищо?

4 Y et now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the Lord; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Но ободри се сега, Зоровавеле, казва Господ; и ободри се, ти, първосвещенико, Исусе, сине Йоседеков; и ободрете се, всички хора на тази земя, казва Господ, и работете; защото Аз съм с вас, казва Господ на Силите.

5 ‘ According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’

Според думите на завета Ми с вас, когато излязохте от Египет, Духът Ми ще пребъдва между вас; не бойте се.

6 “ For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;

Защото така казва Господ на Силите: Още веднъж, след малко, Аз ще разтърся небето и земята, морето и сушата.

7 a nd I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Ще разтърся и всички народи; и те ще дойдат с най-отбраните си дарове; и Аз ще изпълня този дом със слава, казва Господ на Силите.

8 ‘ The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts.

Среброто е Мое и златото е Мое, казва Господ на Силите.

9 ‘ The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.” The People Are Defiled

Последната слава на този дом ще бъде по-голяма от предишната, казва Господ на Силите; и на това място ще дам мир, казва Господ на Силите.

10 O n the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

На двадесет и четвъртия ден от деветия месец, във втората година на Дарий, Господнето слово дойде чрез пророк Агей и каза:

11 “ Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Now, ask the priests concerning the law, saying,

Така казва Господ на Силите: Попитай сега свещениците относно закона:

12 “ If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?”’” Then the priests answered and said, “No.”

Ако някой носи осветено месо в полата на дрехата си и с полата допре хляб или вариво, или вино, или дървено масло, или каквото и да било ястие, това ще се освети ли? И свещениците отговориха: Няма да се освети.

13 A nd Haggai said, “If one who is unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?” So the priests answered and said, “It shall be unclean.”

Тогава Агей каза: Ако някой, който е нечист от мъртво тяло, се допре до някое от тези неща, ще стане ли то нечисто? И свещениците отговориха: Ще стане нечисто.

14 T hen Haggai answered and said, “‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean. Promised Blessing

Тогава Агей добави: Така са тези хора и така е този народ пред Мене, казва Господ, така е и всяко дело на ръцете им; и каквото принасят там, е нечисто.

15 ‘ And now, carefully consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord —

И сега ви моля, размислете как беше в миналото до днес, преди да е бил положен камък върху камък в Господния храм:

16 s ince those days, when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty.

през цялото това време, когато някой отидеше при един куп, който е бил от двадесет мери, те излизаха само десет; когато отидеше при лина, за да източи петдесет мери, имаше само двадесет;

17 I struck you with blight and mildew and hail in all the labors of your hands; yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord.

поразих ви с изсушителен вятър, с мана и с градушка във всички дела на ръцете ви; но вие не се обърнахте към Мене, казва Господ.

18 ‘ Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the Lord ’s temple was laid—consider it:

А сега, размислете как ще бъде от днес нататък - от двадесет и четвъртия ден на деветия месец, - от деня, когато бе положена основата на Господния храм, - размислете го:

19 I s the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you. ’” Zerubbabel Chosen as a Signet

посятото още ли е в житницата? При това лозата, смокинята, нарът и маслината още не са родили плод; обаче от днес ще ви благословя. Божието обещание за Зоровавел

20 A nd again the word of the Lord came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

И Господнето слово дойде втори път към Агей на двадесет и четвъртия ден от месеца и каза:

21 “ Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: ‘I will shake heaven and earth.

Говорѝ на управителя на Юдея Зоровавел: Аз ще разтреса небето и земята;

22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots And those who ride in them; The horses and their riders shall come down, Every one by the sword of his brother.

ще преобърна престола на царствата и ще съборя силата на царствата на народите; ще прекатуря колесниците и онези, които се возят на тях; и конете и ездачите им ще паднат - всеки от меча на брат си.

23 ‘ In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

В онзи ден, казва Господ на Силите, ще взема тебе, служителю Мой, Зоровавелю, сине Салатиилов, казва Господ, и ще те положа като печат; защото те избрах, казва Господ на Силите.
