1 J esus was led by the Holy Spirit to a desert. There He was tempted by the devil.

Da ward Jesus vom Geist in die Wüste geführt, auf daß er von dem Teufel versucht würde.

2 J esus went without food for forty days and forty nights. After that He was hungry.

Und da er vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte gefastet hatte, hungerte ihn.

3 T he devil came tempting Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to be made into bread.”

Und der Versucher trat zu ihm und sprach: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so sprich, daß diese Steine Brot werden.

4 B ut Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man is not to live on bread only. Man is to live by every word that God speaks.’”

Und er antwortete und sprach: Es steht geschrieben: "Der Mensch lebt nicht vom Brot allein, sondern von einem jeglichen Wort, das durch den Mund Gottes geht."

5 T hen the devil took Jesus up to Jerusalem, the holy city. He had Jesus stand on the highest part of the house of God.

Da führte ihn der Teufel mit sich in die Heilige Stadt und stellte ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels

6 T he devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. It is written, ‘He has told His angels to look after You. In their hands they will hold You up. Then Your foot will not hit against a stone.’”

und sprach zu ihm: Bist du Gottes Sohn, so laß dich hinab; denn es steht geschrieben: Er wird seinen Engeln über dir Befehl tun, und sie werden dich auf Händen tragen, auf daß du deinen Fuß nicht an einen Stein stoßest.

7 J esus said to the devil, “It is written also, ‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”

Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Wiederum steht auch geschrieben: "Du sollst Gott, deinen HERRN, nicht versuchen."

8 A gain the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. He had Jesus look at all the nations of the world to see how great they were.

Wiederum führte ihn der Teufel mit sich auf einen sehr hohen Berg und zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt und ihre Herrlichkeit

9 H e said to Jesus, “I will give You all these nations if You will get down at my feet and worship me.”

und sprach zu ihm: Das alles will ich dir geben, so du niederfällst und mich anbetest.

10 J esus said to the devil, “Get away, Satan. It is written, ‘You must worship the Lord your God. You must obey Him only.’”

Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Hebe dich weg von mir Satan! denn es steht geschrieben: "Du sollst anbeten Gott, deinen HERRN, und ihm allein dienen."

11 T hen the devil went away from Jesus. Angels came and cared for Him. Jesus Preaches in Galilee

Da verließ ihn der Teufel; und siehe, da traten die Engel zu ihm und dienten ihm.

12 W hen Jesus heard that John the Baptist had been put in prison, He went to the country of Galilee.

Da nun Jesus hörte, daß Johannes überantwortet war, zog er in das galiläische Land.

13 H e left Nazareth and went to live in the city of Capernaum. It is by the lake in the land of Zebulun and Naphtali.

Und verließ die Stadt Nazareth, kam und wohnte zu Kapernaum, das da liegt am Meer, im Lande Sebulon und Naphthali,

14 T his happened as the early preacher Isaiah said it would happen. He said,

auf das erfüllet würde, was da gesagt ist durch den Propheten Jesaja, der da spricht:

15 “ The land of Zebulun and Naphtali is along the road to the lake. It is on the other side of the Jordan River in Galilee. These people are not Jews.

"Das Land Sebulon und das Land Naphthali, am Wege des Meeres, jenseit des Jordans, und das heidnische Galiläa,

16 T he people who sat in darkness saw a great light. Light did shine on those in the land who were near death.”

das Volk, das in Finsternis saß, hat ein großes Licht gesehen; und die da saßen am Ort und Schatten des Todes, denen ist ein Licht aufgegangen."

17 F rom that time on, Jesus went about preaching. He said, “Be sorry for your sins and turn from them. The holy nation of heaven is near.” Jesus Calls Peter and Andrew

Von der Zeit an fing Jesus an, zu predigen und zu sagen: Tut Buße, das Himmelreich ist nahe herbeigekommen!

18 J esus was walking by the Sea of Galilee. He saw two brothers. They were Simon (his other name was Peter) and Andrew, his brother. They were putting a net into the sea for they were fishermen.

Als nun Jesus an dem Galiläischen Meer ging, sah er zwei Brüder, Simon, der da heißt Petrus, und Andreas, seinen Bruder, die warfen ihre Netze ins Meer; denn sie waren Fischer.

19 J esus said to them, “Follow Me. I will make you fish for men!”

Und er sprach zu ihnen: Folget mir nach; ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen!

20 A t once they left their nets and followed Him.

Alsbald verließen sie ihre Netze und folgten ihm nach.

21 G oing from there, Jesus saw two other brothers. They were James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were sitting in a boat with their father, mending their nets. Jesus called them.

Und da er von da weiterging, sah er zwei andere Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und Johannes, seinen Bruder, im Schiff mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus, daß sie ihre Netze flickten; und er rief sie.

22 A t once they left the boat and their father and followed Jesus. Jesus Keeps On Preaching in Galilee

Alsbald verließen sie das Schiff und ihren Vater und folgten ihm nach.

23 J esus went over all Galilee. He taught in their places of worship and preached the Good News of the holy nation. He healed all kinds of sickness and disease among the people.

Und Jesus ging umher im ganzen galiläischen Lande, lehrte sie in ihren Schulen und predigte das Evangelium von dem Reich und heilte allerlei Seuche und Krankheit im Volk.

24 T he news about Him went over all the country of Syria. They brought all the sick people to Him with many kinds of diseases and pains. They brought to Him those who had demons. They brought those who at times lose the use of their minds. They brought those who could not use their hands and legs. He healed them.

Und sein Gerücht erscholl in das ganze Syrienland. Und sie brachten zu ihm allerlei Kranke, mit mancherlei Seuchen und Qual behaftet, die Besessenen, die Mondsüchtigen und Gichtbrüchigen; und er machte sie alle gesund.

25 M any people followed Him from Galilee and Judea. They followed Him from the cities of Decapolis and Jerusalem. They followed Him from Judea and from the other side of the Jordan River.

Und es folgte ihm nach viel Volks aus Galiläa, aus den Zehn-Städten, von Jerusalem, aus dem jüdischen Lande und von jenseits des Jordans.
