1 “ Take from among the people of Israel your brother Aaron and his sons, Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, to work for Me as religious leaders.

Du sollst Aaron, deinen Bruder, und seine Söhne zu dir nehmen aus den Kindern Israel, daß er mein Priester sei, nämlich Aaron und seine Söhne Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.

2 M ake holy clothing for your brother Aaron, for honor and for beauty.

Und sollst Aaron, deinen Bruder, heilige Kleider machen, die herrlich und schön seien.

3 T ell all the able workmen, whom I have given the spirit of wisdom, to make Aaron’s clothing to set him apart for My work. He will work for Me as a religious leader.

Und du sollst reden mit allen, die eines weisen Herzens sind, die ich mit dem Geist der Weisheit erfüllt habe, daß sie Aaron Kleider machen zu seiner Weihe, daß er mein Priester sei.

4 T hese are the clothes they will make: A breast-piece, a linen vest, a long piece of clothing, a long coat, a head-covering, and a wide belt. They will make holy clothing for your brother Aaron and his sons to work for Me as religious leaders.

Das sind aber die Kleider, die sie machen sollen: das Amtschild, den Leibrock, Purpurrock, engen Rock, Hut und Gürtel. Also sollen sie heilige Kleider machen deinem Bruder Aaron und seinen Söhnen, daß er mein Priester sei.

5 T hey will use gold and blue and purple and red cloth and fine linen. The Linen Vest

Dazu sollen sie nehmen Gold, blauen und roten Purpur, Scharlach und weiße Leinwand.

6 “ They will use gold and blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen to make the linen vest that holds the breast-piece. It will be the work of the able workman.

Den Leibrock sollen sie machen von Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Scharlach und gezwirnter weißer Leinwand, kunstreich;

7 I t will have two shoulder pieces to join it at the two ends.

zwei Schulterstücke soll er haben, die zusammengehen an beiden Enden, und soll zusammengebunden werden.

8 T he well-made belt on it will be made of the same gold and blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen.

Und sein Gurt darauf soll derselben Kunst und Arbeit sein, von Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Scharlach und gezwirnter weißer Leinwand.

9 T ake two onyx stones and cut on them the names of Israel’s sons.

Und sollst zwei Onyxsteine nehmen und darauf graben die Namen der Kinder Israel,

10 P ut six of their names on one stone, and the six names of the others on the other stone, from the oldest to the youngest.

Auf jeglichen sechs Namen, nach der Ordnung ihres Alters.

11 A s an able workman cuts words in a ring, cut the names of Israel’s sons on the two stones. Then set them into beautiful pieces of gold.

Das sollst du tun durch die Steinschneider, die da Siegel graben, also daß sie mit Gold umher gefaßt werden.

12 P ut the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the linen vest, as stones for the family groups of Israel to be remembered. Aaron will carry their names on his two shoulders before the Lord, to be remembered.

Und sollst sie auf die Schulterstücke des Leibrocks heften, daß es Steine seien zum Gedächtnis für die Kinder Israel, daß Aaron ihre Namen auf seinen beiden Schultern trage vor dem HERRN zum Gedächtnis.

13 M ake beautiful pieces of gold

Und sollst goldene Fassungen machen

14 a nd two chains of pure gold. Make them like ropes are made. And put the chains on the pieces of gold. The Breast-Piece

und zwei Ketten von feinem Golde, mit zwei Enden, aber die Glieder ineinander hangend; und sollst sie an die Fassungen tun.

15 “ Make a breast-piece to be used when judging. It is to be made by an able workman. Make it like the work of the linen vest, of gold, and blue, purple and red cloth and fine linen.

Das Amtschild sollst du machen nach der Kunst, wie den Leibrock, von Gold, blauem und rotem Purpur, Scharlach und gezwirnter weißer Leinwand.

16 I t will be as long as it is wide, with one half laid over the other. Make it as long and as wide as a man’s fingers can spread.

Viereckig soll es sein und zwiefach; eine Spanne breit soll seine Länge sein und eine Spanne breit seine Breite.

17 P ut four straight rows of stones on it. The first row will be a ruby, a topaz and an emerald.

Und sollst's füllen die vier Reihen voll Steine. Die erste Reihe sei ein Sarder, Topas, Smaragd;

18 T he second row will be a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond.

die andere ein Rubin, Saphir, Demant;

19 T he third row will be a jacinth, an agate and an amethyst.

die dritte ein Lynkurer, Achat, Amethyst;

20 A nd the fourth row will be a beryl, an onyx and a jasper. They will be set in beautiful pieces of gold.

die vierte ein Türkis, Onyx, Jaspis. In Gold sollen sie gefaßt sein in allen Reihen

21 T here will be twelve stones, one for each name of the sons of Israel. The name of each family group will be cut on one of these special stones.

und sollen nach den zwölf Namen der Kinder Israel stehen, gegraben vom Steinschneider, daß auf einem jeglichen ein Namen stehe nach den zwölf Stämmen.

22 M ake chains for the breast-piece, like ropes of pure gold.

Und sollst Ketten zu dem Schild machen mit zwei Enden, aber die Glieder ineinander hangend, von feinem Golde,

23 A nd make two rings of gold and put them on the two ends of the breast-piece.

und zwei goldene Ringe an das Schild, also daß du die zwei Ringe heftest an zwei Ecken des Schildes,

24 J oin the two gold chains to the two rings at the ends of the breast-piece.

und die zwei goldenen Ketten in die zwei Ringe an den beiden Ecken des Schildes tust.

25 J oin the other two ends of the two chains to the beautiful gold pieces that hold the two stones at the shoulders in the front.

Aber die zwei Enden der zwei Ketten sollst du an die zwei Fassungen tun und sie heften auf die Schulterstücke am Leibrock vornehin.

26 M ake two rings of gold to put on the two ends of the breast-piece, on the inside, next to the linen vest.

Und sollst zwei andere goldene Ringe machen und an die zwei Ecken des Schildes heften an seinem Rand, inwendig gegen den Leibrock.

27 T hen make two rings of gold and put them on the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the linen vest in front, near where they join. They will be above the well-made belt of the linen vest.

Und sollst abermals zwei goldene Ringe machen und sie unten an die zwei Schulterstücke vorn am Leibrock heften, wo der Leibrock zusammengeht, oben über dem Gurt des Leibrocks.

28 T ie the rings of the breast-piece to the rings of the linen vest with a blue rope so the breast-piece may not come loose from the linen vest.

Und man soll das Schild mit seinen Ringen mit einer blauen Schnur an die Ringe des Leibrocks knüpfen, daß es über dem Gurt des Leibrocks hart anliege und das Schild sich nicht vom Leibrock losmache.

29 “ Aaron will carry the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breast-piece of judging when he goes in the holy place, so they will be remembered before the Lord all the time. Other Religious Leaders’ Clothes

Also soll Aaron die Namen der Kinder Israel tragen in dem Amtschild auf seinem Herzen, wenn er in das Heilige geht, zum Gedächtnis vor dem HERRN allezeit.

30 “ Put the Urim and the Thummim into the breast-piece over Aaron’s heart when he goes before the Lord. Aaron will carry the judging of the people of Israel over his heart before the Lord all the time.

Und sollst in das Amtschild tun Licht und Recht, daß sie auf dem Herzen Aarons seien, wenn er eingeht vor den HERRN, daß er trage das Amt der Kinder Israel auf seinem Herzen vor dem HERRN allewege.

31 “ Make the long piece of clothing all of blue.

Du sollst auch einen Purpurrock unter dem Leibrock machen ganz von blauem Purpur.

32 T here will be an opening at its top in the center. Around the opening it will be sewed like the opening on heavy battle clothes, so it may not be torn.

Und oben mitteninne soll ein Loch sein und eine Borte um das Loch her zusammengefaltet, daß er nicht zerreiße.

33 M ake pomegranates of blue and purple and red cloth to put all around the bottom of this clothing. And put bells of gold between them.

Und unten an seinen Saum sollst du Granatäpfel machen von blauem und rotem Purpur und Scharlach um und um und zwischen dieselben goldene Schellen auch um und um,

34 P ut a gold bell and a pomegranate, then a gold bell and a pomegranate, all the way around the bottom of this clothing.

daß eine goldene Schelle sei, darnach ein Granatapfel und wieder eine goldene Schelle und wieder ein Granatapfel, um und um an dem Saum des Purpurrocks.

35 A aron will wear it when he serves Me. The sound of the bells will be heard when he goes in the holy place and when he comes out so that he will not die.

Und Aaron soll ihn anhaben, wenn er dient, daß man seinen Klang höre, wenn er aus und eingeht in das Heilige vor dem HERRN, auf daß er nicht sterbe.

36 “ Make a plate of pure gold and write on it, ‘Holy to the Lord.’

Du sollst auch ein Stirnblatt machen von feinem Golde und darauf ausgraben, wie man die Siegel ausgräbt: Heilig dem HERRN.

37 P ut it to the front of the head covering with a blue rope.

Und sollst's heften an eine blaue Schnur vorn an den Hut,

38 I t will be on Aaron’s forehead. Aaron will take away the sin of the holy things which the people of Israel set apart for the Lord as their holy gifts. It will always be on his forehead, so they may be received by the Lord.

auf der Stirn Aarons, daß also Aaron trage die Missetat des Heiligen, das die Kinder Israel heiligen in allen Gaben ihrer Heiligung; und es soll allewege an seiner Stirn sein, daß er sie versöhne vor dem HERRN.

39 M ake the long coat of fine linen, a head covering of fine linen, and a wide belt, the work of an able workman.

Du sollst auch einen engen Rock machen von weißer Leinwand und einen Hut von weißer Leinwand machen und einen gestickten Gürtel.

40 “ Make long coats for Aaron’s sons. And make belts and head coverings for them, for honor and for beauty.

Und den Söhnen Aarons sollst du Röcke, Gürtel und Hauben machen, die herrlich und schön seien.

41 D ress your brother Aaron and his sons in them. Then pour oil on them, set them apart and make them holy, so they may serve Me as religious leaders.

Und sollst sie deinem Bruder Aaron samt seinen Söhnen anziehen; und sollst sie salben und ihre Hände füllen und sie weihen, daß sie meine Priester seien.

42 M ake for them linen clothing to cover their flesh from their belts to their legs.

Und sollst ihnen leinene Beinkleider machen, zu bedecken die Blöße des Fleisches von den Lenden bis an die Hüften.

43 A aron and his sons will wear them when they go into the meeting tent, or when they go near the altar to serve in the holy place. Then they will not be guilty and die. It will be a law for him and for his children forever.

Und Aaron und seine Söhne sollen sie anhaben, wenn sie in die Hütte des Stifts gehen oder hinzutreten zum Altar, daß sie dienen in dem Heiligtum, daß sie nicht ihre Missetat tragen und sterben müssen. Das soll ihm und seinem Stamm nach ihm eine ewige Weise sein.
