1 S eñor, acuérdate de David y de sus muchas aflicciones;

Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction,

2 a cuérdate, Poderoso de Jacob, de la promesa que te hizo, cuando dijo:

how he swore to Yahweh, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

3 « No voy a refugiarme en mi casa, ni voy a entregarme al descanso;

“Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;

4 n o me permitiré un momento de sueño, ni pegaré los ojos para dormirme,

I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;

5 h asta que el Señor, el Poderoso de Jacob, tenga un lugar digno dónde residir.»

until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

6 E n Efrata oímos hablar del arca, y la hallamos en los campos del bosque.

Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:

7 ¡ Vamos! ¡Entremos en el santuario! ¡Arrodillémonos ante el estrado de sus pies!

“We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.

8 ¡ Ven, Señor, a tu lugar de reposo! ¡Ven, con tu arca poderosa!

Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; you, and the ark of your strength.

9 ¡ Que tus sacerdotes se revistan de justicia, y que se alegre el pueblo que te es fiel!

Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”

10 P uesto que amas a tu siervo David, no le des la espalda, que es tu elegido.

For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

11 E l Señor le hizo a David un juramento, del cual no va a retractarse: «A tus hijos los pondré en tu trono,

Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

12 s i ellos obedecen mi pacto. Yo les enseñaré mis testimonios, y también sus hijos y descendientes te sucederán en el trono para siempre.»

If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forever more.”

13 E l Señor eligió a Sión, y decidió establecer allí su santuario.

For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

14 « En este lugar viviré para siempre; aquí es donde quiero establecer mi trono.

“This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.

15 M ultiplicaré el alimento de mi pueblo, para que los pobres se sacien de pan.

I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16 L os sacerdotes se cubrirán de triunfo, y el pueblo del Señor cantará de alegría.

Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.

17 A llí renacerá el poder de David, y mantendré encendida la lámpara de mi elegido.

There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

18 A sus enemigos los dejaré confundidos, pero la corona de David mantendrá su esplendor.»

I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent.”
