1 И от сего трепещет сердце мое и подвиглось с места своего.

“At this my heart shakes with fear and jumps from its place.

2 С лушайте, слушайте голос Его и гром, исходящий из уст Его.

Listen to the thunder of His voice and the noise that comes from His mouth.

3 П од всем небом раскат его, и блистание его--до краев земли.

He lets it loose under the whole heaven. He lets His lightning go to the ends of the earth.

4 З а ним гремит глас; гремит Он гласом величества Своего и не останавливает его, когда голос Его услышан.

His voice sounds after it. He thunders with His great and powerful voice. And He does not hold back the lightning when His voice is heard.

5 Д ивно гремит Бог гласом Своим, делает дела великие, для нас непостижимые.

God thunders with His great voice. He does great things which we cannot understand.

6 И бо снегу Он говорит: будь на земле; равно мелкий дождь и большой дождь в Его власти.

For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain, ‘Be strong.’

7 О н полагает печать на руку каждого человека, чтобы все люди знали дело Его.

He stops the work of every man, that all men may know His work.

8 Т огда зверь уходит в убежище и остается в своих логовищах.

Then the wild animals go to their holes, and stay where they live.

9 О т юга приходит буря, от севера--стужа.

The storm comes from the south, and the cold from the north.

10 О т дуновения Божия происходит лед, и поверхность воды сжимается.

Water becomes ice by the breath of God. The wide waters become ice.

11 Т акже влагою Он наполняет тучи, и облака сыплют свет Его,

He loads the heavy clouds with water and they send out His lightning.

12 и они направляются по намерениям Его, чтоб исполнить то, что Он повелит им на лице обитаемой земли.

It changes its path and turns around by His leading, doing whatever He tells it to do on the earth where people live.

13 О н повелевает им идти или для наказания, или в благоволение, или для помилования.

He causes it to happen for punishment, or for His world, or because of His love.

14 В нимай сему, Иов; стой и разумевай чудные дела Божии.

“Hear this, O Job. Stop and think about the great works of God.

15 З наешь ли, как Бог располагает ими и повелевает свету блистать из облака Своего?

Do you know how God does them, and makes the lightning shine from His cloud?

16 Р азумеешь ли равновесие облаков, чудное дело Совершеннейшего в знании?

Do you know how the clouds are set in heaven, the great works of Him Who is perfect in understanding?

17 К ак нагревается твоя одежда, когда Он успокаивает землю от юга?

Do you know why you are hot in your clothes when the land becomes quiet because of the south wind?

18 Т ы ли с Ним распростер небеса, твердые, как литое зеркало?

Can you help Him spread out the sky, making it as hard as a mirror made from heated brass?

19 Н аучи нас, что сказать Ему? Мы в этой тьме ничего не можем сообразить.

Teach us what we should say to Him. We cannot put words together to help us because of darkness.

20 Б удет ли возвещено Ему, что я говорю? Сказал ли кто, что сказанное доносится Ему?

Should He be told that I want to speak? Did a man ever wish to be swallowed up?

21 Т еперь не видно яркого света в облаках, но пронесется ветер и расчистит их.

“Now men cannot look on the light when it is bright in the sky, when the wind has passed and made it clear.

22 С ветлая погода приходит от севера, и окрест Бога страшное великолепие.

A bright gold light is seen in the north. Around God is great power.

23 В седержитель! мы не постигаем Его. Он велик силою, судом и полнотою правосудия. Он не угнетает.

We cannot come near the All-powerful. He is lifted high with power. And He is right and fair and good and will not make it hard for us.

24 П осему да благоговеют пред Ним люди, и да трепещут пред Ним все мудрые сердцем!

So men honor Him with fear. He has respect for any who are wise in heart.”
