peste Efraim, Beniamin şi Manase! Trezeşte-Ţi puterea şi vino să ne salvezi!

3 T urn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Dumnezeule, adu-ne înapoi! Fă să lumineze faţa Ta peste noi şi vom fi eliberaţi!

4 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?

Doamne, Dumnezeul Oştirilor, până când te vei mai mânia la auzul rugăciunii poporului Tău?

5 T hou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

Îi hrăneşti cu pâine plămădită cu lacrimi şi îi adapi cu lacrimi din plin.

6 T hou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

Ne-ai făcut măr de discordie pentru vecinii noştri, spre batjocura duşmanilor noştri.

7 T urn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Dumnezeu al Oştirilor, adu-ne înapoi! Fă să lumineze faţa Ta peste noi şi vom fi eliberaţi!

8 T hou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

Ai adus o vie din Egipt, ai alungat neamuri şi ai plantat-o.

9 T hou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

I-ai făcut loc, iar ea a prins rădăcini şi a umplut ţara.

10 T he hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.

Munţii au fost acoperiţi de umbra viei, şi cedrii lui Dumnezeu de ramurile ei.

11 S he sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.

Îşi trimitea mlădiţele până la mare, până la râu se întindeau vlăstarele ei.

12 W hy hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

De ce i-ai străpuns gardul ca să o culeagă astfel toţi cei ce trec pe drum?

13 T he boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.

O râmă mistreţul din pădure şi o pasc fiarele câmpului.

14 R eturn, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

Dumnezeu al Oştirilor, întoarce-Te, Te rog! Priveşte din ceruri şi ia aminte! Cercetează via aceasta,

15 A nd the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

rădăcina pe care a sădit-o dreapta Ta, fiul pe care l-ai înălţat pentru Tine!

16 I t is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

Este arsă de foc şi tăiată. Poporul Tău piere din pricina mustrării feţei Tale.

17 L et thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

Mâna Ta să fie peste omul dreptei Tale, peste fiul omului pe care l-ai înălţat pentru Tine!

18 S o will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

Atunci noi nu ne vom mai întoarce de la Tine! Înviorează-ne şi vom chema Numele Tău!

19 T urn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

Doamne, Dumnezeul Oştirilor, adu-ne înapoi! Fă să lumineze faţa Ta peste noi şi vom fi eliberaţi!
