1 A t this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.

În faţa acestor lucruri, inima îmi tremură şi saltă din locul ei.

2 H ear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

Ascultaţi! Ascultaţi tunetul glasului Său şi bubuitul care iese din gura Sa!

3 H e directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.

Îşi desfăşoară fulgerul sub cerul întreg şi-l trimite până la marginile pământului.

4 A fter it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

Apoi se aude vuietul glasului Său; El tună cu glasul Său măreţ. Când I se aude glasul, El nu opreşte fulgerele.

5 G od thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

Vocea lui Dumnezeu tună într-un mod deosebit; El face fapte măreţe, dincolo de înţelegerea noastră.

6 F or he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

El spune zăpezii: «Cazi pe pământ!» şi ploii: «Fii o ploaie puternică!»

7 H e sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

El îl opreşte pe orice om din lucrul lui, pentru ca toţi oamenii să recunoască lucrarea Lui.

8 T hen the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

Atunci animalele se duc la adăpostul lor şi rămân în vizuinile lor.

9 O ut of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.

Vijelia iese din odaia sa şi frigul din vânturile cele năprasnice.

10 B y the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.

Suflarea lui Dumnezeu face gheaţa şi îngheaţă apele mari.

11 A lso by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

El încarcă norii grei cu umezeală; împrăştie norii cu fulgerul Său.

12 A nd it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.

Ei se mişcă după călăuzirea Lui şi fac tot ceea ce le porunceşte pe faţa întregului pământ.

13 H e causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

El aduce norii ca să-i pedepsească pe oameni sau să ude pământul Său şi să-Şi arate îndurarea.

14 H earken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Iov, ia aminte la aceasta! Stai şi cugetă la minunile lui Dumnezeu!

15 D ost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

Ştii tu cum conduce Dumnezeu norii şi cum face să strălucească fulgerul Său?

16 D ost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?

Ştii tu cum plutesc norii? Înţelegi tu minunile Celui Desăvârşit în cunoştinţă?

17 H ow thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

Ştii tu de ce ţi se încălzesc hainele, când pământul se odihneşte de vântul dinspre sud?

18 H ast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

Poţi tu să întinzi cerurile ca El, tari ca o oglindă turnată?

19 T each us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

«Învaţă-ne ce trebuie să-I spunem! Din pricina întunericului nu ştim să ne apărăm cauza.»

20 S hall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

Cine Îi va spune că vreau să-I vorbesc? Va vrea cineva să-I vorbească ca să fie înghiţit?

21 A nd now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

Nimeni nu poate privi cum străluceşte soarele în ceruri, după ce vântul le-a înseninat.

22 F air weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

El vine din nord într-o splendoare de aur; împrejurul lui Dumnezeu este o măreţie înfricoşătoare.

23 T ouching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

Cel Atotputernic este dincolo de înţelegerea noastră. Este măreţ în putere, în judecată şi în dreptate. El nu va asupri.

24 M en do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

De aceea oamenii se tem de El; da, toţi cei cu inima înţeleaptă se vor teme de El.“
