1 N ow in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

În primul an al domniei lui Cirus, împăratul Persiei, ca să se împlinească Cuvântul Domnului spus prin Ieremia, Domnul a trezit duhul lui Cirus, împăratul Persiei, şi acesta a pus să se vestească prin viu grai şi prin scrisori în toată împărăţia sa următoarele:

2 T hus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

Aşa vorbeşte Cirus, împăratul Persiei: „ Domnul, Dumnezeul cerurilor, Care mi-a dat toate regatele pământului, m-a numit să-I zidesc o Casă la Ierusalim, în Iuda.

3 W ho is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

Cine dintre voi este din poporul Lui? Dumnezeul lui să fie cu el! Lăsaţi-l să plece la Ierusalim, în Iuda, ca să zidească Casa Domnului, Dumnezeul lui Israel. El este Dumnezeul Care locuieşte la Ierusalim.

4 A nd whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.

Fiecare supravieţuitor, în orice loc s-ar afla, să fie ajutat de oamenii din acele locuri cu argint, cu aur, cu diferite bunuri şi cu vite, precum şi cu daruri de bunăvoie pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu din Ierusalim.“

5 T hen rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

Atunci căpeteniile familiilor lui Iuda şi ale lui Beniamin, preoţii, leviţii şi toţi aceia al căror duh a fost trezit de Dumnezeu s-au pregătit şi s-au dus să rezidească Casa Domnului din Ierusalim.

6 A nd all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.

Toţi vecinii lor i-au sprijinit cu argint, cu aur, cu diferite bunuri, cu vite şi cu lucruri scumpe, pe lângă tot felul de daruri de bunăvoie.

7 A lso Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;

Împăratul Cirus a adus uneltele Casei Domnului, cele care fuseseră luate de Nebucadneţar de la Ierusalim şi puse în templul zeului său.

8 E ven those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

Cirus, împăratul Persiei, le-a adus prin vistiernicul Mitredat şi le-a dat lui Şeşbaţar, prinţul iudeilor.

9 A nd this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,

Iată care este numărul lor: treizeci de vase de aur, o mie de vase de argint, douăzeci şi nouă de cuţite,

10 T hirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.

treizeci de cupe de aur, patru sute zece cupe de argint şlefuit, o mie de alte vase.

11 A ll the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

Toate vasele de aur şi de argint erau în număr de cinci mii patru sute. Şeşbaţar le-a adus pe toate acestea atunci când exilaţii au venit din Babilon la Ierusalim.
