1 M oreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

Fraţilor, vă reamintesc Evanghelia pe care v-am vestit-o, pe care aţi primit-o, în care aţi rămas

2 B y which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

şi prin care sunteţi mântuiţi dacă rămâneţi fermi în cuvântul pe care vi l-am vestit; altfel aţi crezut degeaba.

3 F or I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Ceea ce v-am dat ca fiind de primă importanţă este ceea ce eu, la rândul meu, am primit: anume că Cristos a murit pentru păcatele noastre, potrivit Scripturilor,

4 A nd that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

că a fost îngropat, că a fost înviat a treia zi, potrivit Scripturilor,

5 A nd that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

că i S-a arătat lui Chifa şi apoi celor doisprezece

6 A fter that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

și că, după aceea, li S-a arătat la peste cinci sute de fraţi deodată, dintre care cei mai mulţi încă trăiesc, iar unii au adormit.

7 A fter that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

După aceea i S-a arătat lui Iacov, apoi tuturor apostolilor.

8 A nd last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Ultimului dintre toţi, ca unuia născut înainte de vreme, mi S-a arătat şi mie.

9 F or I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Căci eu sunt cel mai neînsemnat dintre apostoli; eu nu sunt vrednic să fiu numit apostol, pentru că am persecutat biserica lui Dumnezeu,

10 B ut by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

însă prin harul lui Dumnezeu sunt ceea ce sunt, iar harul Lui faţă de mine n-a fost fără rezultat, ci am trudit mai mult decât oricare dintre ei, dar nu eu, ci harul lui Dumnezeu care este cu mine.

11 T herefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

Deci – fie eu, fie ei – noi aşa predicăm, iar voi aşa aţi crezut. Învierea morţilor

12 N ow if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Dar dacă se predică faptul că Cristos a fost înviat din morţi, cum pot spune unii dintre voi că nu există învierea morţilor?

13 B ut if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

Dacă nu există o înviere a morţilor, nici Cristos nu a fost înviat.

14 A nd if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Dar dacă Cristos n-a fost înviat, atunci predicarea noastră este zadarnică şi, de asemenea, şi credinţa voastră este zadarnică.

15 Y ea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

Mai mult decât atât, noi suntem găsiţi ca depunând o mărturie falsă despre Dumnezeu, pentru că am depus mărturie că Dumnezeu L-a înviat pe Cristos, pe Care, dacă este adevărat că morţii nu învie, nu L-a înviat.

16 F or if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

Dacă morţii nu învie, nici Cristos n-a fost înviat,

17 A nd if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

iar dacă Cristos n-a fost înviat, atunci credinţa voastră este zadarnică, iar voi sunteţi încă în păcatele voastre.

18 T hen they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

Atunci şi cei care au murit în Cristos sunt pierduţi.

19 I f in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Dacă numai pentru viaţa aceasta am nădăjduit în Cristos, atunci suntem cei mai de plâns dintre oameni!

20 B ut now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Dar Cristos a fost înviat din morţi, El fiind primul rod dintre cei care au adormit.

21 F or since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

Întrucât moartea a venit printr-un om, învierea morţilor a venit tot printr-un Om.

22 F or as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Aşa cum în Adam toţi mor, la fel, în Cristos, toţi vor fi înviaţi,

23 B ut every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

însă fiecare la rândul lui; primul rod este Cristos, apoi, la venirea Lui, cei ai lui Cristos.

24 T hen cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

Apoi va veni sfârşitul, când El îi va încredinţa Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu Tatăl, după ce va fi distrus orice conducător, orice autoritate şi orice putere.

25 F or he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

Căci El trebuie să domnească până când îi va pune pe toţi vrăjmaşii sub picioarele Sale.

26 T he last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Ultimul vrăjmaş care va fi distrus va fi moartea.

27 F or he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

Căci El „I-a pus totul sub picioare“. Dar când se spune că toate I-au fost supuse, este evident că aceasta nu-L include pe Cel Ce I le-a supus pe toate.

28 A nd when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

Când toate lucrurile Îi vor fi fost supuse, atunci Însuşi Fiul I Se va supune Celui Ce I-a supus toate lucrurile, pentru ca Dumnezeu să fie totul în toţi.

29 E lse what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

Altfel, ce vor face cei care se botează pentru cei morţi ? Dacă morţii nu sunt înviaţi nicidecum, de ce mai sunt botezaţi ei pentru cei morţi ?

30 A nd why stand we in jeopardy every hour?

Şi de ce suntem noi în pericol tot timpul?

31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Sunt în pericol de moarte în fiecare zi. Acest lucru este cert, fraţilor, întocmai ca lauda pe care o am cu voi în Cristos Isus, Domnul nostru.

32 I f after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.

Dacă doar din motive omeneşti m-am luptat cu fiarele în Efes, ce-am câştigat, dacă morţii nu învie? „Să mâncăm şi să bem, căci mâine vom muri!“

33 B e not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Nu vă înşelaţi: „Tovărăşiile rele strică obiceiurile bune. “

34 A wake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Veniţi-vă în fire cum se cuvine şi nu mai păcătuiţi; căci sunt unii care trăiesc în ignoranţă faţă de Dumnezeu. Spre ruşinea voastră o spun. Învierea în trup

35 B ut some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

Cineva ar putea întreba: „Cum învie morţii? Cu ce fel de trup vor veni?“

36 T hou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

Ce nebunie! Ceea ce tu semeni, nu vine la viaţă dacă nu moare,

37 A nd that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

iar ceea ce semeni nu este trupul care va fi, ci doar o sămânţă simplă, ca una de grâu sau de altceva.

38 B ut God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

Însă Dumnezeu îi dă fiecărei seminţe un trup, aşa cum doreşte; fiecărei seminţe îi dă trupul ei.

39 A ll flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

Nu toate trupurile sunt la fel: unul este trupul oamenilor, altul este trupul animalelor, altul al păsărilor, altul al peştilor.

40 T here are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Există trupuri cereşti şi trupuri pământeşti. Există o splendoare a celor cereşti şi un alt fel de splendoare a celor pământeşti.

41 T here is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Alta este splendoarea soarelui, alta este splendoarea lunii şi alta este splendoarea stelelor, iar o stea diferă de alta în splendoare.

42 S o also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

La fel este şi cu învierea morţilor. Ceea ce este semănat în putrezire, este înviat în nemurire.

43 I t is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

Ceea ce este semănat în necinste, este înviat în slavă. Ceea ce este semănat în slăbiciune, este înviat în putere.

44 I t is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Este semănat trup firesc şi este înviat trup duhovnicesc. Dacă există un trup firesc, există şi unul duhovnicesc.

45 A nd so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Aşa este şi scris: „Primul om, Adam, a devenit un suflet viu.“ Ultimul Adam a devenit un duh care dă viaţă.

46 H owbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Dar primul nu este cel duhovnicesc, ci este cel firesc; apoi vine cel duhovnicesc.

47 T he first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Primul om a fost făcut din ţărâna pământului. Al doilea Om este din cer.

48 A s is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

Aşa cum era cel din ţărână, aşa sunt şi cei din ţărână; şi aşa cum este Cel Ceresc, aşa sunt şi cei cereşti.

49 A nd as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Aşa cum suntem în asemănarea celui din ţărână, la fel vom fi şi în asemănarea Celui Ceresc.

50 N ow this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Ceea ce spun, fraţilor, sunt următoarele: carnea şi sângele nu pot să moştenească Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, şi nici putrezirea nu poate moşteni nemurirea.

51 B ehold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

Iată, vă spun o taină: nu toţi vom adormi, dar toţi vom fi schimbaţi

52 I n a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

într-o clipă, într-o clipire din ochi, la cea din urmă trâmbiţă. Căci trâmbiţa va suna, iar cei morţi vor fi înviaţi ca nemuritori, şi noi vom fi schimbaţi.

53 F or this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Căci ceea ce este supus putrezirii trebuie să se îmbrace în neputrezire, iar ceea ce este muritor trebuie să se îmbrace în nemurire.

54 S o when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

Când ceea ce este supus putrezirii se va fi îmbrăcat în neputrezire, iar ceea ce este muritor se va fi îmbrăcat în nemurire, atunci se va împlini cuvântul care a fost scris: „Moartea a fost înghiţită în victorie.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Moarte, unde îţi este victoria? Moarte, unde îţi este boldul?“

56 T he sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Boldul morţii este păcatul, iar puterea păcatului este Legea.

57 B ut thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Dar mulţumiri fie aduse lui Dumnezeu, Care ne dă victoria prin Domnul nostru Isus Cristos.

58 T herefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

De aceea, fraţii mei preaiubiţi, fiţi fermi, de neclintit, întotdeauna implicaţi din plin în lucrarea Domnului, pentru că ştiţi că în Domnul strădania voastră nu este zadarnică.
