1 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered before the Lord, and died;

Domnul i-a vorbit lui Moise după moartea celor doi fii ai lui Aaron, care au murit atunci când s-au înfăţişat înaintea Domnului.

2 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

Domnul i-a zis: „Spune-i fratelui tău, Aaron, să nu intre oricând în Locul Preasfânt, dincolo de draperia dinaintea Capacului Ispăşirii, care este pe chivot, ca să nu moară; căci Eu Mă voi arăta în nor, deasupra Capacului Ispăşirii.

3 T hus shall Aaron come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering.

Iată cum trebuie să intre Aaron în Locul Preasfânt: să ia un viţel pentru o jertfă pentru păcat şi un berbec pentru o ardere de tot.

4 H e shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them on.

Să se îmbrace cu tunica de in sfinţită şi să-şi ia pe el izmenele de in; să se încingă cu brâul de in şi să-şi pună mitra de in; acestea sunt veşminte sfinte. Să se îmbrace cu ele după ce îşi va scălda trupul în apă.

5 A nd he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.

De la adunarea israeliţilor să ia doi ţapi pentru o jertfă pentru păcat şi un berbec pentru o ardere de tot.

6 A nd Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make an atonement for himself, and for his house.

Aaron să aducă un viţel ca jertfă pentru păcatul lui şi să facă ispăşire pentru el însuşi şi pentru familia sa.

7 A nd he shall take the two goats, and present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Să ia apoi cei doi ţapi şi să-i înfăţişeze înaintea Domnului, la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii.

8 A nd Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one lot for the Lord, and the other lot for the scapegoat.

Aaron să arunce sorţii pe cei doi ţapi, un sorţ pentru Domnul şi altul pentru Azazel.

9 A nd Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord 's lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering.

Aaron să ia ţapul care a ieşit la sorţi pentru Domnul şi să-l aducă ca jertfă pentru păcat,

10 B ut the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness.

iar ţapul care a ieşit la sorţ pentru Azazel să fie adus viu înaintea Domnului, ca să fie folosit la ispăşire şi să i se dea drumul în pustie ca ţap de ispăşire.

11 A nd Aaron shall bring the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of the sin offering which is for himself:

Apoi Aaron să aducă viţelul ca jertfă pentru păcatul lui şi să facă ispăşire pentru el şi pentru familia lui; să înjunghie viţelul ca jertfă pentru păcatul lui.

12 A nd he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the Lord, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:

Să ia o cădelniţă cu cărbuni aprinşi de pe altarul dinaintea Domnului, doi pumni de tămâie mirositoare, pisată mărunt, să le aducă dincolo de draperie

13 A nd he shall put the incense upon the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he die not:

şi să pună tămâia pe foc, înaintea Domnului, pentru ca norul de tămâie să acopere Capacul Ispăşirii, care este deasupra Mărturiei şi astfel să nu moară.

14 A nd he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

Să ia din sângele viţelului şi să stropească cu degetul partea de răsărit a Capacului Ispăşirii; sângele să-l stropească cu degetul de şapte ori înaintea Capacului Ispăşirii.

15 T hen shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat:

După aceea, să înjunghie ţapul jertfei pentru păcat, care este pentru popor, să aducă sângele dincolo de draperie şi să facă cu sângele lui la fel cum a făcut cu sângele viţelului; să-l stropească pe Capacul Ispăşirii şi înaintea Capacului Ispăşirii.

16 A nd he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

Aşa să facă ispăşire pentru Locul Preasfânt, din cauza necurăţiei israeliţilor, din cauza greşelilor lor şi a tuturor păcatelor lor; aşa să facă şi pentru Cortul Întâlnirii, care este între ei, în mijlocul necurăţiilor lor.

17 A nd there shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation of Israel.

Nimeni să nu fie în Cortul Întâlnirii din momentul în care el va intra în Locul Preasfânt ca să facă ispăşire şi până când va ieşi, atunci când va fi făcut deja ispăşire pentru el, pentru familia sa şi pentru toată adunarea lui Israel.

18 A nd he shall go out unto the altar that is before the Lord, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

Apoi va trebui să iasă, să se ducă lângă altarul care este înaintea Domnului şi să facă ispăşire pentru altar; să ia din sângele viţelului şi din sângele ţapului şi să ungă coarnele altarului.

19 A nd he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

Să ia sânge cu degetul şi să stropească altarul de şapte ori; astfel îl va curăţi şi-l va sfinţi de necurăţiile israeliţilor.

20 A nd when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat:

După ce va termina de făcut ispăşirea pentru Locul Preasfânt, pentru Cortul Întâlnirii şi pentru altar, să aducă ţapul cel viu.

21 A nd Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness:

Aaron să-şi pună mâinile pe capul ţapului viu şi să mărturisească toate nelegiuirile israeliţilor, toate greşelile lor şi toate păcatele lor, punându-le pe capul ţapului şi izgonindu-l pe acesta departe în pustie, printr-un om care va avea această însărcinare.

22 A nd the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.

Astfel, ţapul va duce cu el toate nelegiuirile lor într-un loc pustiu, căci ţapului i se va da drumul în pustie.

23 A nd Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place, and shall leave them there:

Apoi Aaron să intre în Cortul Întâlnirii, să se dezbrace de veşmintele de in, cu care se îmbrăcase când intrase în Locul Preasfânt şi să le lase acolo.

24 A nd he shall wash his flesh with water in the holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for himself, and for the people.

Să-şi scalde trupul în apă într-un loc sfânt şi să se îmbrace cu veşmintele sale; apoi să vină şi să jertfească atât arderea de tot pentru el, cât şi arderea de tot pentru popor, făcând ispăşire pentru el şi pentru popor.

25 A nd the fat of the sin offering shall he burn upon the altar.

Grăsimea jertfei pentru păcat s-o ardă pe altar.

26 A nd he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the camp.

Cel ce va da drumul ţapului pentru Azazel va trebui să-şi spele hainele şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; apoi va putea să revină în tabără.

27 A nd the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one carry forth without the camp; and they shall burn in the fire their skins, and their flesh, and their dung.

Viţelul jertfei pentru păcat şi ţapul jertfei pentru păcat, al căror sânge a fost adus înăuntru pentru a se face ispăşire în Locul Preasfânt, să fie scoşi în afara taberei; pielea, carnea şi balega să le fie arse în foc.

28 A nd he that burneth them shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp.

Cel care le va arde va trebui să-şi spele hainele şi să-şi scalde trupul în apă; după aceea va putea reveni în tabără.

29 A nd this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:

Aceasta să fie o poruncă veşnică pentru voi: în a zecea zi a lunii a şaptea să vă smeriţi sufletele şi să nu lucraţi nimic, nici voi, nici băştinaşul şi nici străinul care locuieşte în mijlocul vostru.

30 F or on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the Lord.

Pentru că în ziua aceasta se va face ispăşire pentru voi ca să fiţi curăţiţi; astfel veţi fi curăţiţi înaintea Domnului de toate păcatele voastre.

31 I t shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.

Este un Sabat, o zi de odihnă în care să vă smeriţi sufletele; aceasta este o poruncă veşnică.

32 A nd the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:

Preotul care va fi uns şi sfinţit ca preot în locul tatălui său va trebui să facă ispăşire îmbrăcat în veşmintele de in, veşmintele sfinte.

33 A nd he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the congregation.

Să facă ispăşire pentru Locul Preasfânt, să facă ispăşire pentru Cortul Întâlnirii şi pentru altar, să facă ispăşire pentru preoţi şi pentru tot poporul din adunare.

34 A nd this shall be an everlasting statute unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their sins once a year. And he did as the Lord commanded Moses.

Aceasta să fie o poruncă veşnică pentru voi: să se facă ispăşire pentru israeliţi o singură dată pe an, pentru toate păcatele lor.“ Şi Moise a făcut aşa cum i-a poruncit Domnul.
