1 P raise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul! Ferice de omul care se teme de Domnul şi care găseşte o mare plăcere în poruncile Lui!

2 H is seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Urmaşii lui vor fi puternici în ţară; neamul celor integri va fi binecuvântat.

3 W ealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Bogăţie şi belşug sunt în casa lui, iar dreptatea sa dăinuieşte pentru totdeauna.

4 U nto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

O lumină străluceşte în întuneric pentru cei integri, pentru cel ce este îndurător, milostiv şi drept.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

Îi merge bine omului care îşi face milă împrumutând şi care îşi chiverniseşte lucrurile potrivit cu dreptatea.

6 S urely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Niciodată nu se va clătina. Cel drept va fi amintit întotdeauna.

7 H e shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

El nu se teme de veşti rele, căci inima lui este tare şi se încrede în Domnul.

8 H is heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

Inima lui este tare şi nu se teme; el îşi va vedea împlinită dorinţa faţă de duşmanii săi.

9 H e hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

A împărţit şi a dăruit celor nevoiaşi; dreptatea lui rămâne pentru totdeauna, iar puterea îi va fi înălţată cu onoare.

10 T he wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Cel rău vede aceasta şi se mânie, scrâşneşte din dinţi şi leşină; dorinţele celor răi tot neîmplinite rămân.
