1 I t is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

Este cunoscut faptul că între voi există desfrâu şi încă un desfrâu din acela cum nici între neamuri nu se găseşte, până acolo încât un om trăieşte cu soţia tatălui său.

2 A nd ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

Iar voi aţi devenit aroganţi şi nu v-aţi mâhnit mai degrabă, pentru ca acela care a făcut lucrul acesta să fie dat afară din mijlocul vostru?

3 F or I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

Chiar dacă sunt absent cu trupul, totuşi, în duh, sunt cu voi şi l-am şi judecat deja pe cel ce a săvârşit un astfel de lucru, ca şi cum aş fi prezent.

4 I n the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

În Numele Domnului Isus, voi şi cu duhul meu, fiind adunaţi laolaltă, împreună cu puterea Domnului nostru Isus,

5 T o deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

am hotărât să daţi un astfel de om pe mâna lui Satan, pentru nimicirea trupului, pentru ca duhul lui să fie mântuit în ziua Domnului.

6 Y our glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

Lauda voastră nu este un lucru bun. Nu ştiţi că puţină drojdie dospeşte tot aluatul?

7 P urge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Curăţaţi drojdia veche, ca să fiţi un aluat nou, fără drojdie, cum de fapt şi sunteţi, întrucât Cristos, Mielul nostru de Paşte, a fost jertfit.

8 T herefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Aşadar, să sărbătorim nu cu drojdia veche, nici cu drojdia răutăţii şi ticăloşiei, ci cu azimele sincerităţii şi adevărului.

9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

V-am scris în scrisoarea mea să nu vă asociaţi cu cei desfrânaţi,

10 Y et not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

dar nu m-am referit la oamenii desfrânaţi ai acestei lumi sau la cei lacomi şi tâlhari, sau la cei idolatri, pentru că atunci ar trebui să ieşiţi din lume.

11 B ut now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

Ci vă scriu să nu vă asociaţi cu nimeni care îşi zice frate, dar este desfrânat sau lacom, sau idolatru, sau bârfitor, sau beţiv, sau tâlhar. Cu un astfel de om nici măcar să nu mâncaţi!

12 F or what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

De ce să-i judec pe cei de afară? N-ar trebui să-i judecaţi pe cei dinăuntru?

13 B ut them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Pe cei de afară îi va judeca Dumnezeu. „Daţi-l afară din mijlocul vostru pe omul acela rău!“
