1 H ow amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

Cât de plăcute sunt Lăcaşurile Tale, Doamne al Oştirilor!

2 M y soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

Sufletul meu tânjeşte şi suspină după curţile Domnului. Inima şi trupul meu strigă de bucurie către Dumnezeul cel Viu.

3 Y ea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Chiar şi pasărea îşi găseşte o casă, chiar şi rândunica îşi găseşte un cuib pentru ea, un loc unde să-şi pună puii, un loc la altarele Tale, Doamne al Oştirilor, Împăratul meu şi Dumnezeul meu!

4 B lessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Ferice de cei ce locuiesc în Casa Ta, căci ei Te laudă mereu! Sela

5 B lessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Ferice de oamenii a căror tărie este în Tine şi a căror inimă se îndreaptă spre înălţimile Sionului.

6 W ho passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

Când străbat aceştia valea Plângerii, ei o prefac într-un loc cu izvoare, pe care ploaia timpurie îl acoperă cu iazuri.

7 T hey go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

Ei merg din putere în putere şi se înfăţişează înaintea lui Dumnezeu, în Sion.

8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

Doamne, Dumnezeul Oştirilor, ascultă-mi rugăciunea! Pleacă-Ţi urechea, Dumnezeule al lui Iacov! Sela

9 B ehold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

Scut al nostru, ia aminte, Dumnezeule! Priveşte cu bunăvoinţă la faţa unsului Tău!

10 F or a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Mai bine o zi în curţile Tale, decât o mie în altă parte. Mai bine stau în pragul Casei Dumnezeului meu, decât să locuiesc în corturile răutăţii.

11 F or the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Căci Domnul Dumnezeu este soare şi scut; El dă îndurare şi slavă. Nu lipseşte de bine pe cei ce umblă în integritate.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Doamne al Oştirilor, ferice de omul care-şi pune încrederea în Tine!
