1 V indicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity; I have trusted in, leaned on, and relied on the Lord without wavering and I shall not slide.

Di Davide. Fammi giustizia, o Signore, perché io cammino nell’integrità e confido nel Signore senza vacillare.

2 E xamine me, O Lord, and prove me; test my heart and my mind.

Scrutami, o Signore, e mettimi alla prova; purifica le miei reni e il mio cuore.

3 F or Your loving-kindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.

Poiché ho davanti agli occhi la tua benevolenza e cammino nella tua verità.

4 I do not sit with false persons, nor fellowship with pretenders;

Io non siedo in compagnia di uomini bugiardi, non vado con gente ipocrita.

5 I hate the company of evildoers and will not sit with the wicked.

Detesto l’assemblea dei malvagi, non vado a sedermi tra gli empi.

6 I will wash my hands in innocence, and go about Your altar, O Lord,

Lavo le mie mani nell’innocenza e così faccio il giro del tuo altare, o Signore,

7 T hat I may make the voice of thanksgiving heard and may tell of all Your wondrous works.

per far risuonare voci di lode, per raccontare tutte le tue meraviglie.

8 L ord, I love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells.

O Signore, io amo trattenermi nella tua casa, nel luogo dove risiede la tua gloria.

9 G ather me not with sinners and sweep me not away, nor my life with bloodthirsty men,

Non mettermi in un fascio con i peccatori, non associarmi agli uomini sanguinari,

10 I n whose hands is wickedness, and their right hands are full of bribes.

nelle cui mani è scelleratezza e la cui destra è colma di regali corruttori.

11 B ut as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful and gracious to me.

Quanto a me, io cammino nella mia integrità; liberami, abbi pietà di me.

12 M y foot stands on an even place; in the congregations will I bless the Lord.

Il mio piede sta fermo in luogo piano. Nelle assemblee io benedirò il Signore.
