1 M i Señor, mi fortaleza, ¡yo te amo!

“I love You, O Lord, my strength.”

2 M i Señor y Dios, tú eres mi roca, mi defensor, ¡mi libertador! Tú eres mi fuerza y mi escudo, mi poderosa salvación, mi alto refugio. ¡En ti confío!

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

3 Y o te invoco, Señor, porque sólo tú eres digno de alabanza; ¡tú me salvas de mis adversarios!

I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, And I am saved from my enemies.

4 L os lazos de la muerte me rodearon; ¡me arrolló un torrente de perversidad!

The cords of death encompassed me, And the torrents of ungodliness terrified me.

5 L os lazos del sepulcro me rodearon; ¡me vi ante las trampas de la muerte!

The cords of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.

6 P ero en mi angustia, Señor, a ti clamé; a ti, mi Dios, pedí ayuda, y desde tu templo me escuchaste; ¡mis gemidos llegaron a tus oídos!

In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears.

7 L a tierra tembló y se estremeció; las montañas se cimbraron hasta sus cimientos; ¡se sacudieron por la indignación del Señor!

Then the earth shook and quaked; And the foundations of the mountains were trembling And were shaken, because He was angry.

8 H umo salía de su nariz, y por su boca brotaba fuego encendido; ¡su furor inflamaba los carbones!

Smoke went up out of His nostrils, And fire from His mouth devoured; Coals were kindled by it.

9 E l Señor inclinó el cielo, y descendió; bajo sus pies había una densa oscuridad.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down With thick darkness under His feet.

10 M ontó sobre un querubín, y voló; ¡voló sobre las alas del viento!

He rode upon a cherub and flew; And He sped upon the wings of the wind.

11 S e envolvió en un manto de sombras; se ocultó entre grises nubes, cargadas de agua.

He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.

12 D e su deslumbrante presencia salieron ascuas y granizos que cruzaron las nubes.

From the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds, Hailstones and coals of fire.

13 E l Señor lanzó un poderoso trueno; el Altísimo dejó escuchar su voz en medio de ascuas y granizos.

The Lord also thundered in the heavens, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.

14 L anzó sus flechas, y los dispersó; ¡lanzó relámpagos, y acabó con ellos!

He sent out His arrows, and scattered them, And lightning flashes in abundance, and routed them.

15 E l Señor dejó oír su reprensión, ¡y a la vista quedó el fondo de las aguas! De su nariz salió un intenso soplo, ¡y a la vista quedaron los cimientos del mundo!

Then the channels of water appeared, And the foundations of the world were laid bare At Your rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.

16 D esde lo alto el Señor me tendió la mano y me rescató de las aguas tumultuosas,

He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

17 ¡ me libró de los poderosos enemigos que me odiaban y eran más fuertes que yo!

He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

18 M e atacaron en el día de mi desgracia, pero el Señor me dio su apoyo:

They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my stay.

19 m e llevó a un terreno espacioso, y me salvó, porque se agradó de mí.

He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me.

20 E l Señor me premió porque soy justo; ¡porque mis manos están limpias de culpa!

The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.

21 Y o he seguido los caminos del Señor, y ningún mal he cometido contra mi Dios.

For I have kept the ways of the Lord, And have not wickedly departed from my God.

22 T engo presentes todos sus decretos, y no me he apartado de sus estatutos.

For all His ordinances were before me, And I did not put away His statutes from me.

23 C on él me he conducido rectamente, y me he alejado de la maldad;

I was also blameless with Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity.

24 é l ha visto la limpieza de mis manos, y por eso ha recompensado mi justicia.

Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.

25 S eñor, tú eres fiel con el que es fiel, e intachable con el que es intachable.

With the kind You show Yourself kind; With the blameless You show Yourself blameless;

26 J uegas limpio con quien juega limpio, pero al tramposo le ganas en astucia.

With the pure You show Yourself pure, And with the crooked You show Yourself astute.

27 T ú salvas a los humildes, pero humillas a los soberbios.

For You save an afflicted people, But haughty eyes You abase.

28 S eñor, mi Dios, tú mantienes mi lámpara encendida; ¡tú eres la luz de mis tinieblas!

For You light my lamp; The Lord my God illumines my darkness.

29 ¡ Con tu ayuda, mi Dios, puedo vencer ejércitos y derribar murallas!

For by You I can run upon a troop; And by my God I can leap over a wall.

30 E l camino de Dios es perfecto; la palabra del Señor, acrisolada; Dios es el escudo de los que en él confían.

As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

31 ¡ Aparte del Señor, no hay otro Dios! ¡Aparte de nuestro Dios, no hay otra Roca!

For who is God, but the Lord ? And who is a rock, except our God,

32 D ios es quien me infunde fuerzas; Dios es quien endereza mi camino;

The God who girds me with strength And makes my way blameless?

33 D ios es quien me aligera los pies y me hace correr como un venado; Dios es quien me afirma en las alturas;

He makes my feet like hinds’ feet, And sets me upon my high places.

34 D ios adiestra mis manos para el combate, y me da fuerzas para tensar el arco de bronce.

He trains my hands for battle, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

35 T ú me diste el escudo de tu salvación, me sostuviste con tu mano derecha, y con tu bondad me engrandeciste.

You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your right hand upholds me; And Your gentleness makes me great.

36 M e pusiste sobre un terreno espacioso, para que mis pies no resbalaran,

You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.

37 y así pude perseguir y alcanzar a mis adversarios; ¡no volví hasta haberlos exterminado!

I pursued my enemies and overtook them, And I did not turn back until they were consumed.

38 L os herí, y ya no se levantaron; ¡quedaron tendidos debajo de mis pies!

I shattered them, so that they were not able to rise; They fell under my feet.

39 T ú me infundiste fuerzas para la batalla, para vencer y humillar a mis adversarios.

For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

40 T ú los hiciste ponerse en retirada, y así acabé con los que me odiaban.

You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, And I destroyed those who hated me.

41 C lamaron a ti, Señor, pero no los atendiste; ¡no hubo nadie que los ayudara!

They cried for help, but there was none to save, Even to the Lord, but He did not answer them.

42 L os hice polvo, y los arrastró el viento; ¡los pisoteé como al lodo en las calles!

Then I beat them fine as the dust before the wind; I emptied them out as the mire of the streets.

43 T ú me libraste de un pueblo rebelde, Y me pusiste al frente de las naciones. Gente que yo no conocía, viene a servirme;

You have delivered me from the contentions of the people; You have placed me as head of the nations; A people whom I have not known serve me.

44 g ente extraña me rinde homenaje; ¡apenas me escuchan, me obedecen!

As soon as they hear, they obey me; Foreigners submit to me.

45 ¡ Gente de otros pueblos se llena de miedo, y sale temblando de sus escondites!

Foreigners fade away, And come trembling out of their fortresses.

46 ¡ Viva el Señor! ¡Bendita sea mi roca! ¡Exaltado sea el Dios de mi salvación!

The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock; And exalted be the God of my salvation,

47 E s el Dios que vindica mis agravios y somete a las naciones bajo mis pies.

The God who executes vengeance for me, And subdues peoples under me.

48 E s el Dios que me libra de mis adversarios, que me eleva por encima de mis oponentes, ¡que me pone a salvo de los violentos!

He delivers me from my enemies; Surely You lift me above those who rise up against me; You rescue me from the violent man.

49 P or eso alabo al Señor entre los pueblos, y canto salmos a su nombre.

Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O Lord, And I will sing praises to Your name.

50 E l Señor da la victoria al rey; siempre es misericordioso con su ungido, con David y con sus descendientes.

He gives great deliverance to His king, And shows lovingkindness to His anointed, To David and his descendants forever.
