1 S eñor, ¡escúchame! ¡Atiende mi clamor de justicia! ¡Presta oído a mi oración, pues no brota de labios mentirosos!

Hear a just cause, O Lord, give heed to my cry; Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.

2 ¡ Sé tú quien me reivindique! ¡Posa tus ojos en mi rectitud!

Let my judgment come forth from Your presence; Let Your eyes look with equity.

3 T ú has examinado mi corazón; por las noches has venido a verme. ¡Ponme a prueba, que nada malo hallarás! ¡Nada malo han pronunciado mis labios!

You have tried my heart; You have visited me by night; You have tested me and You find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

4 Y o no hago lo que otros hacen; al contrario, tomo en cuenta tus palabras y me alejo de caminos de violencia.

As for the deeds of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the paths of the violent.

5 S ostén mis pasos en tus sendas para que mis pies no resbalen.

My steps have held fast to Your paths. My feet have not slipped.

6 D ios mío, yo te invoco porque tú me respondes; ¡inclina a mí tu oído, y escucha mis palabras!

I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.

7 T ú, que salvas de sus perseguidores a los que buscan tu protección, ¡dame una muestra de tu gran misericordia!

Wondrously show Your lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them.

8 ¡ Cuídame como a la niña de tus ojos! ¡Escóndeme bajo la sombra de tus alas!

Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings

9 ¡ No dejes que me vean mis malvados enemigos, los opresores que quieren quitarme la vida!

From the wicked who despoil me, My deadly enemies who surround me.

10 S e regodean en su soberbia, y profieren palabras insolentes.

They have closed their unfeeling heart, With their mouth they speak proudly.

11 M e tienen rodeado por completo, y sólo esperan verme caer por tierra.

They have now surrounded us in our steps; They set their eyes to cast us down to the ground.

12 P arecen leones que esperan a su presa; parecen cachorros, echados en su escondite.

He is like a lion that is eager to tear, And as a young lion lurking in hiding places.

13 ¡ Reacciona, Señor! ¡Enfréntate a ellos, y ponlos en vergüenza! ¡Con tu espada, ponme a salvo de esos malvados!

Arise, O Lord, confront him, bring him low; Deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword,

14 ¡ Con tu mano, Señor, sálvame de estos malvados que viven obsesionados con los bienes de este mundo! ¡Ya los has saciado con tus riquezas, y hasta les sobra para sus hijos más pequeños!

From men with Your hand, O Lord, From men of the world, whose portion is in this life, And whose belly You fill with Your treasure; They are satisfied with children, And leave their abundance to their babes.

15 A mí me bastará con ver tu rostro de justicia; ¡satisfecho estaré al despertar y contemplarte!

As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.
