1 L odate l'Eterno, perché è cosa buona cantare le lodi al nostro DIO, perché è piacevole e conveniente lodarlo.

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2 L 'Eterno edifica Gerusalemme e raccoglie i dispersi d'Israele

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 E gli guarisce quelli che hanno il cuore rotto e fascia le loro ferite.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4 C onta il numero delle stelle e le chiama tutte per nome.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 G rande è il nostro Signore, immensa è la sua potenza e infinita la sua intelligenza.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6 L 'Eterno innalza gli umili, ma abbassa i malvagi fino a terra.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 C antate all'Eterno con ringraziamento, cantate con la cetra le lodi al nostro DIO,

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8 c he copre il cielo di nuvole, prepara la pioggia per la terra e fa crescere l'erba sui monti.

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9 E gli provvede cibo al bestiame e ai piccoli dei corvi che gridano.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 E gli non si compiace nella forza del cavallo né prende alcun piacere nelle gambe dell'uomo.

He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 L 'Eterno prende piacere in quelli che lo temono in quelli che sperano nella sua benignità.

The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 L oda l'Eterno, o Gerusalemme, celebra il tuo DIO, o Sion.

Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 P oiché egli ha rinforzato le sbarre delle tue porte e ha benedetto i tuoi figli in mezzo a te.

For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 E gli conserva la pace entro i tuoi confini e ti sazia col fior di frumento.

He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 I nvia sulla terra il suo comando, la sua parola corre velocissima.

He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 M anda la neve come lana e sparge la brina come cenere.

He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 G etta la sua grandine come a pezzi; chi può resistere al suo freddo?

He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 M anda la sua parola e li fa sciogliere fa soffiare il suo vento, e le acque corrono.

He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 E gli ha fatto conoscere la sua parola a Giacobbe, i suoi statuti e i suoi decreti a Israele.

He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 E gli non ha fatto questo con alcun'altra nazione, ed esse non conoscono i suoi decreti. Alleluia.

He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.
