1 « Canto dei pellegrinaggi.» Quando l'Eterno fece ritornare i prigionieri di Sion, ci sembrava di sognare.

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 A llora la nostra bocca si riempí di riso e la nostra lingua di canti di gioia, allora si diceva fra le nazioni: «L'Eterno ha fatto cose grandi per loro».

Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

3 L 'Eterno ha fatto cose grandi per noi, e siamo pieni di gioia.

The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 F a' ritornare i nostri prigionieri, o Eterno, come i torrenti nel sud.

Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.

5 Q uelli che seminano con lacrime, mieteranno con canti di gioia.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 B en va piangendo colui che porta il seme da spargere, ma tornerà con canti di gioia portando i suoi covoni.

He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
