1 N o quiero, hermanos, que ignoréis acerca de los dones espirituales.

Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.

2 S abéis que cuando erais gentiles se os extraviaba llevándoos, como se os llevaba, a los ídolos mudos.

You know that when you were heathen, you were led away to those mute idols, however you might be led.

3 P or tanto, os hago saber que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios dice de Jesús: «¡Sea anatema!», como tampoco nadie puede exclamar: «¡Jesús es el Señor!», sino por el Espíritu Santo.

Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God’s Spirit says, “Jesus is accursed.” No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” but by the Holy Spirit.

4 A hora bien, hay diversidad de dones, pero el Espíritu es el mismo.

Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 Y hay diversidad de ministerios, pero el Señor es el mismo.

There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord.

6 Y hay diversidad de actividades, pero Dios, que hace todas las cosas en todos, es el mismo.

There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.

7 P ero a cada uno le es dada la manifestación del Espíritu para el bien de todos.

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.

8 A uno es dada por el Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de conocimiento según el mismo Espíritu;

For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;

9 a otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu; y a otro, dones de sanidades por el mismo Espíritu.

to another faith, by the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, by the same Spirit;

10 A otro, el hacer milagros; a otro, profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, diversos géneros de lenguas, y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages.

11 P ero todas estas cosas las hace uno y el mismo Espíritu, repartiendo a cada uno en particular como él quiere.

But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.

12 A sí como el cuerpo es uno, y tiene muchos miembros, pero todos los miembros del cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un solo cuerpo, así también Cristo,

For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.

13 p orque por un solo Espíritu fuimos todos bautizados en un cuerpo, tanto judíos como griegos, tanto esclavos como libres; y a todos se nos dio a beber de un mismo Espíritu.

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.

14 A demás, el cuerpo no es un solo miembro, sino muchos.

For the body is not one member, but many.

15 S i dijera el pie: «Como no soy mano, no soy del cuerpo», ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

If the foot would say, “Because I’m not the hand, I’m not part of the body,” it is not therefore not part of the body.

16 Y si dijera la oreja: «Porque no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo», ¿por eso no sería del cuerpo?

If the ear would say, “Because I’m not the eye, I’m not part of the body,” it’s not therefore not part of the body.

17 S i todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿dónde estaría el oído? Si todo fuera oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato?

If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be?

18 P ero ahora Dios ha colocado cada uno de los miembros en el cuerpo como él quiso,

But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body, just as he desired.

19 p ues si todos fueran un solo miembro, ¿dónde estaría el cuerpo?

If they were all one member, where would the body be?

20 P ero ahora son muchos los miembros, aunque el cuerpo es uno solo.

But now they are many members, but one body.

21 N i el ojo puede decir a la mano: «No te necesito», ni tampoco la cabeza a los pies: «No tengo necesidad de vosotros».

The eye can’t tell the hand, “I have no need for you,” or again the head to the feet, “I have no need for you.”

22 A l contrario, los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más débiles, son los más necesarios;

No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.

23 y a aquellos miembros del cuerpo que nos parecen menos dignos, los vestimos más dignamente; y los que en nosotros son menos decorosos, se tratan con más decoro,

Those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, on those we bestow more abundant honor; and our unpresentable parts have more abundant propriety;

24 p orque los que en nosotros son más decorosos no tienen necesidad. Pero Dios ordenó el cuerpo dando más abundante honor al que menos tenía,

whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God composed the body together, giving more abundant honor to the inferior part,

25 p ara que no haya divisiones en el cuerpo, sino que todos los miembros se preocupen los unos por los otros.

that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

26 D e manera que si un miembro padece, todos los miembros se duelen con él, y si un miembro recibe honra, todos los miembros con él se gozan.

When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. Or when one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 V osotros, pues, sois el cuerpo de Cristo y miembros cada uno en particular.

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

28 Y a unos puso Dios en la iglesia, primeramente apóstoles, luego profetas, lo tercero maestros, luego los que hacen milagros, después los que sanan, los que ayudan, los que administran, los que tienen don de lenguas.

God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.

29 ¿ Son todos apóstoles? ¿Son todos profetas? ¿Son todos maestros? ¿Hacen todos milagros?

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers?

30 ¿ Tienen todos dones de sanidad? ¿Hablan todos lenguas? ¿Interpretan todos?

Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret?

31 P rocurad, sin embargo, los dones mejores. La preeminencia del amor Ahora yo os muestro un camino mucho más excelente.

But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you.
