1 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

2 « Y tú, hijo de hombre, ¿no juzgarás tú, no juzgarás tú a la ciudad sanguinaria y le mostrarás todas sus abominaciones?

You, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations.

3 L e dirás, pues: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: ¡Ciudad que derrama sangre dentro de sí misma para que venga su hora, y que hizo ídolos contra sí misma para contaminarse!

You shall say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: A city that sheds blood within herself, that her time may come, and that makes idols against herself to defile her!

4 E n tu sangre que derramaste has pecado y te has contaminado con tus ídolos que hiciste; has hecho que tu día se acerque y has llegado al término de tus años; por tanto, te he dado en oprobio a las naciones, en escarnio a todas las tierras.

You have become guilty in your blood that you have shed, and are defiled in your idols which you have made; and you have caused your days to draw near, and have come even to your years: therefore have I made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the countries.

5 L as que están cerca de ti y las que están lejos se reirán de ti, amancillada de nombre y de gran turbación.

Those who are near, and those who are far from you, shall mock you, you infamous one, full of tumult.

6 » ”He aquí que los gobernantes de Israel, cada uno según su poder, se esfuerzan en derramar sangre.

Behold, the princes of Israel, everyone according to his power, have been in you to shed blood.

7 A l padre y a la madre despreciaron en ti; al extranjero trataron con violencia en medio de ti, y en ti despojaron al huérfano y a la viuda.

In you have they set light by father and mother; among you they have dealt by oppression with the foreigner; in you they have wronged the fatherless and the widow.

8 M is santuarios menospreciaste y mis sábados has profanado.

You have despised my holy things, and have profaned my Sabbaths.

9 C alumniadores hubo en ti para derramar sangre; en ti comieron sobre los montes y en medio de ti hicieron perversidades.

Slanderous men have been in you to shed blood; and in you they have eaten on the mountains: they have committed lewdness among you.

10 L a desnudez del padre descubrieron en ti, y en ti hicieron violencia a la que estaba impura por su menstruo.

In you have they uncovered their fathers’ nakedness; in you have they humbled her who was unclean in her impurity.

11 C ada uno hizo abominación con la mujer de su prójimo, cada uno contaminó pervertidamente a su nuera y cada uno violó en ti a su hermana, la hija de su padre.

One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.

12 P recio recibieron en ti para derramar sangre; interés y usura tomaste, y a tus prójimos defraudaste con violencia. ¡Te olvidaste de mí!, dice Jehová, el Señor.

In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me, says the Lord Yahweh.

13 » ”Y batí mis manos a causa de la avaricia con que actuaste y a causa de la sangre que derramaste en medio de ti.

Behold, therefore, I have struck my hand at your dishonest gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been within you.

14 ¿ Estará firme tu corazón? ¿Serán fuertes tus manos en los días en que yo proceda contra ti? Yo, Jehová, he hablado, y lo haré.

Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.

15 T e dispersaré por las naciones, te esparciré por los países y eliminaré de ti tu impureza.

I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries; and I will consume your filthiness out of you.

16 Y por ti misma serás degradada a la vista de las naciones. Y sabrás que yo soy Jehová.”»

You shall be profaned in yourself, in the sight of the nations; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

17 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

18 « Hijo de hombre, la casa de Israel se me ha convertido en escoria. Todos ellos son bronce, estaño, hierro y plomo en medio del horno; y en escorias de plata se han convertido.

Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the middle of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.

19 P or tanto, así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: “Por cuanto todos vosotros os habéis convertido en escorias, por eso, yo os reuniré en medio de Jerusalén.

Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the middle of Jerusalem.

20 C omo quien junta plata, bronce, hierro, plomo y estaño en medio del horno, para encender fuego en él para fundirlos, así os juntaré en mi furor y en mi ira. Os pondré allí y os fundiré.

As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the middle of the furnace, to blow the fire on it, to melt it; so will I gather you in my anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you.

21 Y o os juntaré y soplaré sobre vosotros en el fuego de mi furor, y en medio de él seréis fundidos.

Yes, I will gather you, and blow on you with the fire of my wrath, and you shall be melted in the middle of it.

22 C omo se funde la plata en medio del horno, así, en medio de él, seréis fundidos. Así sabréis que yo, Jehová, habré derramado mi ira sobre vosotros.”»

As silver is melted in the middle of the furnace, so you will be melted in the middle of it; and you will know that I, Yahweh, have poured out my wrath on you.

23 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

24 « Hijo de hombre, dile a ella: “Tú no eres tierra limpia ni rociada con lluvia en el día del furor.

Son of man, tell her, You are a land that is not cleansed, nor rained on in the day of indignation.

25 H ay conjuración de sus profetas en medio de ella, como de león rugiente que arrebata la presa. Devoraron vidas, tomaron haciendas y honra, multiplicaron sus viudas en medio de ella.

There is a conspiracy of her prophets within it, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many within it.

26 S us sacerdotes violaron mi Ley y contaminaron mis santuarios; entre lo santo y lo profano no hicieron diferencia, ni distinguieron entre inmundo y limpio. De mis sábados apartaron sus ojos, y yo he sido profanado en medio de ellos.

Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

27 S us jefes en medio de ella son como lobos que arrebatan la presa: derraman sangre para destruir las vidas, para obtener ganancias injustas.

Her princes within it are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain.

28 S us profetas recubrían con lodo suelto, profetizando vanidad y prediciéndoles mentira, diciendo: ‘Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor’, y Jehová no había hablado.

Her prophets have plastered for them with whitewash, seeing false visions, and divining lies to them, saying, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, when Yahweh has not spoken.

29 E l pueblo de la tierra oprimía y robaba; al afligido y necesitado hacía violencia y al extranjero oprimía contra derecho.

The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yes, they have troubled the poor and needy, and have oppressed the foreigner wrongfully.

30 B usqué entre ellos un hombre que levantara una muralla y que se pusiera en la brecha delante de mí, a favor de la tierra, para que yo no la destruyera; pero no lo hallé.

I sought for a man among them, who should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

31 P or tanto, derramé sobre ellos mi ira. Con el ardor de mi ira los consumí; hice volver el camino de ellos sobre su propia cabeza, dice Jehová, el Señor.”»

Therefore have I poured out my indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought on their heads, says the Lord Yahweh.
