1 E n el sexto año, en el mes sexto, a los cinco días del mes, aconteció que estaba yo sentado en mi casa, y los ancianos de Judá estaban sentados delante de mí, y allí se posó sobre mí la mano de Jehová, el Señor.

In the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, the Lord Yahweh’s hand fell there on me.

2 M iré, y vi una figura con aspecto de hombre; desde sus caderas para abajo, fuego, y desde sus caderas para arriba parecía resplandor; el aspecto era como de bronce refulgente.

Then I saw, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire; from the appearance of his waist and downward, fire; and from his waist and upward, as the appearance of brightness, as it were glowing metal.

3 A quella figura extendió la mano y me tomó por las guedejas de mi cabeza; y el espíritu me alzó entre el cielo y la tierra y me llevó en visiones de Dios a Jerusalén, a la entrada de la puerta de adentro que mira hacia el norte, donde estaba la habitación de la imagen del celo, la que provoca a celos.

He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and the sky, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the gate of the inner court that looks toward the north; where there was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.

4 A llí estaba la gloria del Dios de Israel, como la visión que yo había visto en el campo.

Behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the appearance that I saw in the plain.

5 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, alza ahora tus ojos hacia el lado del norte.» Alcé mis ojos hacia el norte, y vi al norte, junto a la puerta del altar, aquella imagen del celo en la entrada.

Then he said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and see, northward of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

6 M e dijo entonces: «Hijo de hombre, ¿no ves lo que estos hacen, las grandes abominaciones que la casa de Israel hace aquí para alejarme de mi santuario? Pero vuélvete, y verás aún mayores abominaciones.»

He said to me, Son of man, do you see what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel do commit here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But you shall again see yet other great abominations.

7 M e llevó a la entrada del atrio, y miré, y vi un agujero en la pared.

He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold, a hole in the wall.

8 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, cava ahora en la pared.» Yo cavé en la pared, y he aquí una puerta.

Then he said to me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dug in the wall, behold, a door.

9 M e dijo luego: «Entra, y ve las malvadas abominaciones que estos hacen allí.»

He said to me, Go in, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 E ntré, pues, y miré, y vi toda forma de reptiles y bestias abominables, y todos los ídolos de la casa de Israel, que estaban pintados por toda la pared en derredor.

So I went in and saw; and see, every form of creeping things, and abominable animals, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around on the wall.

11 Y delante de ellos había setenta hombres de entre los ancianos de la casa de Israel, y Jaazanías hijo de Safán, en medio de ellos, cada uno con su incensario en su mano; y subía una nube espesa de incienso.

There stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel; and in the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.

12 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ¿has visto las cosas que los ancianos de la casa de Israel hacen en tinieblas, cada uno en sus cámaras pintadas de imágenes? Porque dicen ellos: “Jehová no nos ve. Jehová ha abandonado la tierra.”»

Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his rooms of imagery? for they say, Yahweh doesn’t see us; Yahweh has forsaken the land.

13 M e dijo después: «Vuélvete, verás que estos hacen aún mayores abominaciones.»

He said also to me, You shall again see yet other great abominations which they do.

14 M e llevó a la entrada de la puerta de la casa de Jehová, que está al norte; y vi a unas mujeres que estaban allí sentadas llorando a Tamuz.

Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yahweh’s house which was toward the north; and see, there sat the women weeping for Tammuz.

15 L uego me dijo: «¿No ves, hijo de hombre? Vuélvete, verás aún mayores abominaciones que éstas.»

Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? You shall again see yet greater abominations than these.

16 M e llevó al atrio de adentro de la casa de Jehová, y vi que junto a la entrada del templo de Jehová, entre la entrada y el altar, había unos veinticinco hombres, con sus espaldas vueltas al templo de Jehová y con sus rostros hacia el oriente, y adoraban al sol, postrándose hacia el oriente.

He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and see, at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men, with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple, and their faces toward the east; and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.

17 M e dijo: «¿No has visto, hijo de hombre? ¿Es cosa ligera para la casa de Judá cometer las abominaciones que cometen aquí? Después que han llenado de maldad el país, se volvieron a mí para irritarme; y aplican el ramo a sus narices.

Then he said to me, Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have turned again to provoke me to anger: and behold, they put the branch to their nose.

18 P ues también yo procederé con furor: mis ojos no mirarán con piedad, no tendré compasión. Gritarán a mis oídos con gran voz, pero no los escucharé.»

Therefore will I also deal in wrath; my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
