1 V einticinco años tenía Jotam cuando comenzó a reinar, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Jerusa, hija de Sadoc.

Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jerushah the daughter of Zadok.

2 E hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todas las cosas que había hecho Uzías, su padre, salvo que no entró en el santuario de Jehová. Pero el pueblo continuaba corrompiéndose.

He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, according to all that his father Uzziah had done: however he didn’t enter into Yahweh’s temple. The people still did corruptly.

3 F ue él quien edificó la puerta mayor de la casa de Jehová, y también muchas otras edificaciones sobre el muro Ofel.

He built the upper gate of Yahweh’s house, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.

4 A demás edificó ciudades en las montañas de Judá, y construyó fortalezas y torres en los bosques.

Moreover he built cities in the hill country of Judah, and in the forests he built fortresses and towers.

5 T ambién tuvo él guerra con el rey de los hijos de Amón, a los cuales venció; y le dieron los hijos de Amón en aquel año cien talentos de plata, diez mil coros de trigo y diez mil de cebada. Lo mismo le dieron el segundo y el tercer año.

He fought also with the king of the children of Ammon, and prevailed against them. The children of Ammon gave him the same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand cors of wheat, and ten thousand cors of barley. The children of Ammon gave that much to him in the second year also, and in the third.

6 A sí que Jotam se hizo fuerte, porque preparó sus caminos delante de Jehová, su Dios.

So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before Yahweh his God.

7 L os demás hechos de Jotam, todas sus guerras y sus caminos, están escritos en el libro de los reyes de Israel y de Judá.

Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

8 C uando comenzó a reinar tenía veinticinco años, y dieciséis años reinó en Jerusalén.

He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

9 D urmió Jotam con sus padres, y lo sepultaron en la Ciudad de David. Reinó en su lugar su hijo Acaz.

Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in David’s city: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.
