1 T hen came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

Все роды Израиля пришли к Давиду в Хеврон и сказали: – Мы – твоя плоть и кровь.

2 E ven aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.

Даже прежде, когда нашим царем был Саул, это ты водил израильтян в битвы. Господь сказал тебе: «Ты будешь пасти Мой народ, Израиль, и станешь его правителем».

3 A nd all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.

Когда все старейшины Израиля пришли к царю Давиду в Хеврон, он заключил с ними в Хевроне союз перед Господом, и они помазали Давида в цари над Израилем.

4 D avid was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.

Давиду было тридцать лет, когда он стал царем, и правил он сорок лет.

5 I n Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

В Хевроне он правил Иудеей семь лет и шесть месяцев, а в Иерусалиме он правил всем Израилем и Иудеей тридцать три года. Давид захватывает Иерусалим (1 Пар. 11: 4-9; 14: 1-2)

6 A nd the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.

Царь со своими людьми пошел на Иерусалим против живших там иевусеев. Иевусеи сказали Давиду: – Ты не войдешь сюда; тебя отгонят даже слепые и хромые. Они думали: «Давид не сможет войти сюда».

7 B ut David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.

Но Давид захватил крепость Сион, что ныне Город Давида.

8 A nd David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul …! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

В тот день Давид сказал: – Пусть всякий, разящий иевусеев, проберется к этим «хромым и слепым», ненавидящим душу Давида, через водопроводный туннель. Вот почему говорится: «Слепой и хромой не войдут во дворец».

9 S o David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.

Давид обосновался в крепости, и она стала называться Городом Давида. Он возвел вокруг нее город от Милло и внутри.

10 A nd David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.

Давид становился все сильнее и сильнее, потому что с ним был Господь, Бог Сил.

11 A nd Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

Хирам, царь Тира, отправил к Давиду послов, кедровые бревна, а также плотников и каменщиков, которые построили Давиду дворец.

12 A nd David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.

Давид понял, что Господь утвердил его царем над Израилем и вознес его царство ради Своего народа Израиля. Другие сыновья Давида (1 Пар. 3: 5-8; 14: 3-7)

13 A nd David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

Покинув Хеврон, Давид взял себе в Иерусалиме еще наложниц и жен, и у него родились еще сыновья и дочери.

14 A nd these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Вот имена детей, которые родились у него там: Шаммуа, Шовав, Нафан, Соломон,

15 a nd Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

Ивхар, Елисуа, Нефег, Иафия,

16 a nd Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.

Элишама, Елиада и Элифелет. Поражения филистимлян (1 Пар. 14: 8-17)

17 A nd the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard, and went down to the stronghold.

Услышав о том, что Давид помазан в цари над всем Израилем, все филистимляне отправились искать его, но Давид, узнав об этом, спустился в крепость.

18 A nd the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Филистимляне пришли и расположились в долине Рефаим.

19 A nd David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.

Давид спросил Господа: – Идти ли мне на филистимлян? Отдашь ли Ты их мне? Господь ответил ему: – Иди, Я непременно отдам филистимлян в твои руки.

20 A nd David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

Давид пошел к Баал-Перациму и разбил их там. Он сказал: – Как прорвавшаяся вода, Господь разбил моих врагов. Так это место получило имя Баал-Перацим.

21 A nd they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

Филистимляне оставили там своих идолов, а Давид и его люди унесли их.

22 A nd the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Филистимляне еще раз пришли и расположились в долине Рефаим.

23 A nd David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.

Давид спросил Господа, и Тот ответил: – Не нападай на них отсюда, но обойди их с тыла и напади на них со стороны бальзамовых деревьев.

24 A nd it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.

Как только ты услышишь в вершинах бальзамовых деревьев шум как от шагов, тотчас же выступай в бой, потому что Господь вышел перед тобой, чтобы разбить войско филистимлян.

25 A nd David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.

Давид сделал так, как повелел ему Господь, и разил филистимлян всю дорогу от Гаваона до Гезера.
