1 T hen came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

Vinieron todas las tribus de Israel a David en Hebrón y hablaron, diciendo: Henos aquí, hueso tuyo y carne tuya somos.

2 E ven aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.

Y aun antes de ahora, cuando Saúl reinaba sobre nosotros, eras tú quien sacabas a Israel a la guerra, y lo volvías a traer. Además Jehová te ha dicho: Tú apacentarás a mi pueblo Israel, y tú serás príncipe sobre Israel.

3 A nd all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.

Vinieron, pues, todos los ancianos de Israel al rey en Hebrón, y el rey David hizo pacto con ellos en Hebrón delante de Jehová; y ungieron a David por rey sobre Israel.

4 D avid was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.

Era David de treinta años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cuarenta años.

5 I n Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

En Hebrón reinó sobre Judá siete años y seis meses, y en Jerusalén reinó treinta y tres años sobre todo Israel y Judá. David toma la fortaleza de Sión

6 A nd the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.

Entonces marchó el rey con sus hombres a Jerusalén contra los jebuseos que moraban en aquella tierra; los cuales hablaron a David, diciendo: Tú no entrarás acá, pues aun los ciegos y los cojos bastan para rechazarte (queriendo decir: David no podrá entrar acá).

7 B ut David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.

Pero David tomó la fortaleza de Sión, la cual es la ciudad de David.

8 A nd David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul …! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

Y dijo David aquel día: Batiendo al jebuseo por el acueducto, alcanzaréis aun a los ciegos y a los cojos que David aborrece. Por eso se dice: Ni cojo ni ciego entrarán en el Templo.

9 S o David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.

Y David moró en la fortaleza, y le puso por nombre la Ciudad de David; y edificó alrededor desde Miló hacia dentro.

10 A nd David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.

Y David iba adelantando y engrandeciéndose, y Jehová Dios de los ejércitos estaba con él. Hiram envía embajadores a David

11 A nd Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

También Hiram rey de Tiro envió embajadores a David, y madera de cedro, y carpinteros, y canteros para los muros, los cuales edificaron la casa de David.

12 A nd David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.

Y entendió David que Jehová le había confirmado por rey sobre Israel, y que había engrandecido su reino por amor de su pueblo Israel. Hijos de David nacidos en Jerusalén

13 A nd David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

Y tomó David más concubinas y mujeres de Jerusalén, después que vino de Hebrón, y le nacieron más hijos e hijas.

14 A nd these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

Estos son los nombres de los que le nacieron en Jerusalén: Samúa, Sobab, Natán, Salomón,

15 a nd Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

16 a nd Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.

17 A nd the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard, and went down to the stronghold.

Oyendo los filisteos que David había sido ungido por rey sobre Israel, subieron todos los filisteos para buscar a David; y cuando David lo oyó, descendió a la fortaleza.

18 A nd the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Y vinieron los filisteos, y se extendieron por el valle de Refaím.

19 A nd David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.

Entonces consultó David a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Iré contra los filisteos? ¿Los entregarás en mi mano? Y Jehová respondió a David: Ve, porque ciertamente entregaré a los filisteos en tu mano.

20 A nd David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

Y vino David a Baal-perazim, y allí los venció David, y dijo: Quebrantó Jehová a mis enemigos delante de mí, como corriente impetuosa. Por esto llamó el nombre de aquel lugar Baal-perazim.

21 A nd they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

Y dejaron allí sus ídolos, y David y sus hombres los quemaron.

22 A nd the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

Y los filisteos volvieron a venir, y se extendieron en el valle de Refaím.

23 A nd David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.

Y consultando David a Jehová, él le respondió: No subas, sino rodéalos, y vendrás a ellos enfrente de las balsameras.

24 A nd it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.

Y cuando oigas ruido como de pasos en la cima de las balsameras, entonces te moverás; porque Jehová saldrá delante de ti a herir el campamento de los filisteos.

25 A nd David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.

Y David lo hizo así, como Jehová se lo había mandado; e hirió a los filisteos desde Geba hasta llegar a Gézer.
