1 A nd it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth, the tenth of the month, certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Jehovah, and they sat before me.

Aconteció en el año séptimo, en el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, que vinieron algunos de los ancianos de Israel a consultar a Jehová, y se sentaron delante de mí.

2 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Y vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

3 S on of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Are ye come to inquire of me? I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Hijo de hombre, habla a los ancianos de Israel, y diles: Así dice el Señor Jehová: ¿A consultarme venís vosotros? Vivo yo, que no os responderé, dice el Señor Jehová.

4 W ilt thou judge them, wilt thou judge, son of man? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers,

¿Quieres tú juzgarlos? ¿Los quieres juzgar tú, hijo de hombre? Hazles conocer las abominaciones de sus padres,

5 a nd say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up my hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up my hand unto them, saying, I Jehovah your God,

y diles: Así dice el Señor Jehová: El día que escogí a Israel, y que alcé mi mano para jurar a la descendencia de la casa de Jacob, y me di a conocer a ellos en la tierra de Egipto, cuando alcé mi mano y les juré diciendo: Yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios;

6 i n that day I lifted up my hand unto them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the ornament of all lands;

aquel día les alcé mi mano, jurando así que los sacaría de la tierra de Egipto a una tierra que les había provisto, que fluye leche y miel, la cual es la más hermosa de todas las tierras;

7 a nd I said unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I Jehovah your God.

entonces les dije: Cada uno arroje lejos de sí las abominaciones de delante de sus ojos, y no os contaminéis con los ídolos de Egipto. Yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios.

8 B ut they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: none of them cast away the abominations of his eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I thought to pour out my fury upon them, so as to accomplish mine anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

Mas ellos se rebelaron contra mí, y no quisieron obedecerme; no echó de sí cada uno las abominaciones de delante de sus ojos, ni dejaron los ídolos de Egipto; entonces dije que derramaría mi ira sobre ellos, para desahogar mi enojo en ellos en medio de la tierra de Egipto.

9 B ut I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they were, in whose sight I had made myself known unto them in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

Con todo, por consideración a mi nombre, para que no se infamase ante los ojos de las naciones en medio de las cuales estaban, en cuyos ojos fui conocido, actué para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto.

10 A nd I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

Los hice salir de la tierra de Egipto, y los traje al desierto,

11 A nd I gave them my statutes, and made known unto them mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them.

y les di mis estatutos, y les hice conocer mis ordenanzas, por las cuales el hombre que las cumpla vivirá.

12 A nd I also gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I Jehovah that hallow them.

Y les di también mis sábados, para que fuesen por señal entre mí y ellos, para que supiesen que yo soy Jehová, que los santifico.

13 B ut the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live by them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned: and I said I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

Mas se rebeló contra mí la casa de Israel en el desierto; no anduvieron en mis estatutos, y desecharon mis ordenanzas, por las cuales el hombre que las cumpla, vivirá; y profanaron en gran manera mis sábados; dije, por tanto, que derramaría sobre ellos mi ira en el desierto para exterminarlos.

14 B ut I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Pero retraje mi mano por el honor de mi nombre, para que no se infamase a la vista de las naciones ante cuyos ojos los había sacado.

15 A nd I also lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land that I had given, flowing with milk and honey, which is the ornament of all lands;

También les alcé mi mano en el desierto, jurando que no los traería a la tierra que les había dado, que fluye leche y miel, la cual es la más hermosa de todas las tierras;

16 b ecause they rejected mine ordinances and walked not in my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

porque desecharon mis ordenanzas, y no anduvieron en mis estatutos, y profanaron mis sábados, porque su corazón se iba tras sus ídolos.

17 B ut mine eye spared them so as not to destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

Con todo, los perdonó mi ojo, pues no los destruí, ni los exterminé del todo en el desierto;

18 A nd I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, neither keep their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

y dije en el desierto a sus hijos: No andéis en los estatutos de vuestros padres, ni guardéis sus ordenanzas, ni os contaminéis con sus ídolos.

19 I Jehovah your God: walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them;

Yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios; andad en mis estatutos, y guardad mis ordenanzas, y ponedlas por obra;

20 a nd hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I Jehovah your God.

y santificad mis sábados, y sean por señal entre mí y vosotros, para que sepáis que yo soy Jehová, vuestro Dios.

21 A nd the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept mine ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live by them; they profaned my sabbaths: and I said I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish mine anger against them in the wilderness.

Mas los hijos se rebelaron contra mí; no anduvieron en mis estatutos, ni guardaron mis ordenanzas para ponerlas por obra, por las cuales el hombre que las cumpla, vivirá; profanaron mis sábados. Dije entonces que derramaría mi ira sobre ellos, para desahogar mi enojo en ellos en el desierto.

22 B ut I withdrew my hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Mas retraje mi mano y actué por el honor de mi nombre, para que no se infamase a la vista de las naciones ante cuyos ojos los había sacado.

23 I lifted up my hand also unto them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;

También les alcé yo mi mano en el desierto, jurando que los esparciría entre las naciones, y que los dispersaría por las tierras,

24 b ecause they performed not mine ordinances, and rejected my statutes, and profaned my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

porque no pusieron por obra mis ordenanzas, sino que desecharon mis estatutos y profanaron mis sábados, y se les fueron los ojos tras los ídolos de sus padres.

25 A nd I also gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances whereby they should not live;

Por eso yo les di también estatutos que no eran buenos, y ordenanzas por las cuales no podrían vivir.

26 a nd I defiled them by their own gifts, in that they devoted all that opened the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I Jehovah.

Y los contaminé en sus ofrendas cuando hacían pasar por el fuego a todo primogénito, para desolarlos y hacerles saber que yo soy Jehová.

27 T herefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have wrought unfaithfulness against me.

Por tanto, hijo de hombre, habla a la casa de Israel, y diles: Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: Todavía me añadieron vuestros padres una nueva injuria, al obrar deslealmente contra mí.

28 W hen I had brought them into the land which I had lifted up my hand to give unto them, then they saw every high hill and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; and there they placed their sweet savour, and there poured out their drink-offerings.

Porque cuando yo los había traído a la tierra sobre la cual había alzado mi mano jurando que había de dársela, miraron a todo collado alto y a todo árbol frondoso, y allí sacrificaron sus víctimas, y allí presentaron ofrendas que me irritan, allí pusieron también su incienso agradable, y allí derramaron sus libaciones.

29 A nd I said unto them, What is the high place whither ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.

Y yo les dije: ¿Qué significa ese lugar alto adonde vosotros vais? Y fue llamado su nombre Bamá hasta el día de hoy.

30 T herefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Do ye defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers? and do ye commit fornication after their abominations?

Di, pues, a la casa de Israel: Así dice el Señor Jehová: Cuando os contamináis a la manera de vuestros padres, y fornicáis tras sus abominaciones,

31 A nd when ye offer your gifts, making your sons to pass through the fire, ye defile yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day; and shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

y cuando, al ofrecer vuestras ofrendas, haciendo pasar vuestros hijos por el fuego, os habéis contaminado con todos vuestros ídolos hasta hoy; ¿voy yo a dejarme consultar por vosotros, casa de Israel? Vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, que no me dejaré consultar por vosotros.

32 A nd that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, in serving wood and stone.

Y no ha de ser lo que habéis pensado. Porque vosotros decís: Seremos como las naciones, como las demás familias de la tierra, que sirven al palo y a la piedra.

33 I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, verily with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, will I reign over you.

Vivo yo, dice el Señor Jehová, que con mano fuerte y brazo extendido, y furor desencadenado, he de reinar sobre vosotros;

34 A nd I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out;

y os sacaré de entre los pueblos, y os reuniré de las tierras en que estáis esparcidos, con mano fuerte y brazo extendido, y furor desencadenado;

35 a nd I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.

y os traeré al desierto de los pueblos, y allí litigaré con vosotros cara a cara.

36 L ike as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Como litigué con vuestros padres en el desierto de la tierra de Egipto, así litigaré con vosotros, dice el Señor Jehová.

37 A nd I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

Os haré pasar bajo la vara, y os haré entrar en los vínculos del pacto;

38 A nd I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I Jehovah.

y apartaré de entre vosotros a los rebeldes, y a los que prevarican contra mí; de la tierra de sus peregrinaciones los sacaré, mas a la tierra de Israel no entrarán; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

39 A s for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Go ye, serve every one his idols henceforth also, if none of you will hearken unto me; but profane my holy name no more with your gifts and with your idols.

Y a vosotros, oh casa de Israel, así dice el Señor Jehová: Andad cada uno tras sus ídolos, y servidles; después, yo juro que me escucharéis y no profanaréis más mi santo nombre con vuestras ofrendas y con vuestros ídolos.

40 F or in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, there shall all the house of Israel serve me, the whole of it, in the land; there will I accept them, and there will I require your heave-offerings and the first-fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

Porque en mi santo monte, en el alto monte de Israel, dice el Señor Jehová, allí me servirá toda la casa de Israel, toda ella en la tierra; allí los aceptaré, y allí demandaré vuestras ofrendas, y las primicias de vuestros dones, con todas vuestras cosas consagradas.

41 A s a sweet savour will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you in the sight of the nations.

Con vuestro incienso agradable os aceptaré, cuando os haya sacado de entre los pueblos, y os haya congregado de entre las tierras en que estáis esparcidos; y seré santificado en vosotros a los ojos de las naciones.

42 A nd ye shall know that I Jehovah, when I have brought you into the land of Israel, into the country which I lifted up my hand to give to your fathers.

Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando os haya traído a la tierra de Israel, la tierra por la cual alcé mi mano jurando que la daría a vuestros padres.

43 A nd there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils which ye have committed.

Y allí os acordaréis de vuestros caminos, y de todos vuestros hechos en que os contaminasteis; y tendréis asco de vosotros mismos a causa de todos vuestros pecados que cometisteis.

44 A nd ye shall know that I Jehovah, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando actúe con vosotros por amor de mi nombre, no según vuestros caminos malos ni según vuestras perversas obras, oh casa de Israel, dice el Señor Jehová. Profecía contra el Négueb

45 A nd the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

Vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

46 S on of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop against the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field;

Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia el sur, derrama tu palabra hacia la parte austral, profetiza contra el bosque del Négueb.

47 a nd say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of Jehovah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flashing flame shall not be quenched; and all that it meets from the south to the north shall be burned thereby.

Y dirás al bosque del Négueb: Oye la palabra de Jehová: Así dice el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo voy a encender en ti un fuego, el cual consumirá en ti todo árbol verde y todo árbol seco; no se apagará la llama del fuego; y serán quemados en ella todos los rostros, desde el sur hasta el norte.

48 A nd all flesh shall see that I Jehovah have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.

Y verá toda carne que yo Jehová lo encendí; no se apagará.

49 A nd I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?

Entonces dije: ¡Ah, Señor Jehová!, ellos dicen de mí: ¿No es éste un inventor de parábolas?
