1 T he burden of the word of Jehovah, in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall it rest; (for Jehovah hath an eye upon men, and upon all the tribes of Israel;)

La profecía de la palabra de Jehová está contra la tierra de Hadrac y sobre Damasco; porque a Jehová deben mirar los ojos de los hombres, y de todas las tribus de Israel.

2 a nd also Hamath bordereth thereon; on Tyre and Zidon, though she be very wise.

También Hamat será comprendida en el territorio de éste; Tiro y Sidón, aunque sean muy sabias.

3 A nd Tyre hath built herself a stronghold, and hath heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

Bien que Tiro se edificó fortaleza, y amontonó plata como polvo, y oro como lodo de las calles,

4 B ehold, the Lord will take possession of her, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

he aquí, el Señor la empobrecerá, y herirá en el mar su poderío, y ella será consumida por el fuego.

5 A shkelon shall see, and fear; Gazah also, and she shall be greatly pained; Ekron also, for her expectation shall be put to shame: and the king shall perish from Gazah, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

Verá Ascalón esto, y temerá; Gaza también, y le entrará mucho miedo; asimismo Ecrón, porque su esperanza será confundida; y perecerá el rey de Gaza, y Ascalón no será habitada.

6 A nd a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines;

Habitará en Asdod gente bastarda, y pondré fin a la soberbia de los filisteos.

7 a nd I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth; but he that remaineth, he also shall belong to our God, and shall be as a leader in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.

Quitaré la sangre de su boca, y sus abominaciones de entre sus dientes, y quedará también un remanente para nuestro Dios, y serán como capitanes en Judá, y Ecrón será como el jebuseo.

8 A nd I will encamp about my house because of the army, because of those that pass by and that return; and the exactor shall not pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

Entonces acamparé junto a mi casa como un puesto de guardia, para que ninguno vaya ni venga, y no pasará más sobre ellos el opresor; porque ahora miraré con mis ojos. El futuro rey de Sión

9 R ejoice greatly, daughter of Zion; shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, thy King cometh to thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly and rIding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Alégrate mucho, hija de Sión; da voces de júbilo, hija de Jerusalén; he aquí que tu rey viene a ti, justo y victorioso, humilde, y cabalgando sobre un asno, sobre un pollino, hijo de asna.

10 A nd I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem; and the battle-bow shall be cut off. And he shall speak peace unto the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

Y destruirá los carros de Efraín, y los caballos de Jerusalén, y los arcos de guerra serán quebrados; y dictará paz a las naciones, y su señorío será de mar a mar, y desde el río hasta los confines de la tierra.

11 A s for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant, I will send forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.

Y tú también por la sangre de tu pacto serás salva; yo he sacado tus presos de la cisterna en que no hay agua.

12 T urn again to the stronghold, prisoners of hope! even to-day do I declare I will render double unto thee.

Volveos a la fortaleza, oh prisioneros de esperanza; hoy también os anuncio que os restauraré el doble.

13 F or I have bent Judah for me, I have filled the bow with Ephraim; and I will raise up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and make thee like the sword of a mighty man.

Porque he entesado para mí a Judá como arco, e hice a Efraín su flecha, y despertaré a tus hijos, oh Sión, contra tus hijos, oh Grecia, y te pondré como espada de valiente.

14 A nd Jehovah shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning; and the Lord Jehovah will blow the trumpet, and will march with whirlwinds of the south.

Y Jehová será visto sobre ellos, y su dardo saldrá como relámpago; y el Señor Jehová tocará trompeta, y avanzará entre los torbellinos del austro.

15 J ehovah of hosts will defend them; and they shall devour, and shall tread down the sling-stones; and they shall drink, make a noise as from wine; and they shall be filled like a bowl, like the corners of the altar.

Jehová de los ejércitos los amparará, y ellos devorarán, y hollarán las piedras de la honda, y beberán, y harán estrépito como agitados por el vino; y se llenarán como tazones, o como los cuernos del altar.

16 A nd Jehovah their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people; for the stones of a crown, lifted up upon his land.

Y los salvará en aquel día Jehová su Dios como al rebaño de su pueblo; porque refulgirán sobre su tierra como piedras de diadema.

17 F or how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Corn shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the maidens.

Porque ¡cuánta es su bondad, y cuánta su hermosura! El trigo hará prosperar a los jóvenes, y el mosto hará florecer a las doncellas.
