1 T he burden of Egypt. Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swift cloud, and cometh to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt are moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt melteth in the midst of it.

Profecía sobre Egipto. He aquí que Jehová monta sobre una ligera nube, y está llegando a Egipto; y los ídolos de Egipto temblarán delante de él, y se derretirá el corazón de los egipcios dentro de ellos.

2 A nd I will incite the Egyptians against the Egyptians; and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

Levantaré egipcios contra egipcios, y cada uno peleará contra su hermano, cada uno contra su prójimo; ciudad contra ciudad, y reino contra reino.

3 A nd the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it, and I will destroy the counsel thereof; and they shall seek unto the idols and unto the conjurers, and unto the necromancers, and unto the soothsayers.

Y el espíritu de Egipto se desvanecerá en medio de él, y destruiré sus planes; y consultarán a sus imágenes, a sus hechiceros, a sus evocadores y a sus adivinos.

4 A nd the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord, and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

Y entregaré a Egipto en manos de un amo duro, y un rey violento se enseñoreará de ellos, dice el Señor, Jehová de los ejércitos.

5 A nd the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up;

Y las aguas del mar faltarán, y el río se agotará y secará.

6 a nd the rivers shall stink, and the streams of Egypt shall be diminished and drain away: the reeds and sedges shall wither.

Los canales apestarán, se agotarán y secarán las corrientes de Egipto; la caña y el carrizo se marchitarán.

7 T he meadows by the Nile, on the banks of the Nile, and everything sown by the Nile, shall be dried up, be driven away, and be no.

La pradera de junto al río, de junto a la ribera del río, y toda sementera del río, se secarán, serán aventadas y desaparecerán.

8 A nd the fishers shall mourn, and all they that cast fish-hook into the Nile shall lament, and they that spread net upon the waters shall languish.

Los pescadores también se entristecerán; harán duelo todos los que echan anzuelo en el río, y desfallecerán los que extienden red sobre las aguas.

9 A nd they that work in fine flax, and they that weave white stuffs shall be ashamed.

Los que trabajan el lino fino y los que tejen redes serán confundidos,

10 A nd her pillars shall be broken in pieces, and all workers for hire shall be sad of soul.

porque todos sus tejedores estarán abatidos, y todos sus jornaleros entristecidos.

11 T hey are but fools, the princes of Zoan, the wise counsellors of Pharaoh: counsel is become senseless. How say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

Ciertamente están locos los príncipes de Zoán; los más prudentes consejeros de Faraón dan consejos estúpidos. ¿Cómo diréis a Faraón: Yo soy hijo de los sabios, el hijo de los reyes antiguos?

12 W here are they then, thy wise ? Let them now tell thee, and let them make known what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.

¿Dónde están ahora aquellos tus sabios? Que te digan ahora, y te hagan saber qué es lo que Jehová de los ejércitos ha determinado sobre Egipto.

13 T he princes of Zoan are become foolish, the princes of Noph are deceived; and the corner-stones of its tribes have caused Egypt to err.

Se han entontecido los príncipes de Zoán, se han engañado los príncipes de Menfis; engañaron a Egipto los que son la piedra angular de sus tribus.

14 J ehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst thereof; and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunkard staggereth in his vomit.

Jehová ha infundido espíritu de vértigo en medio de él; e hicieron errar a Egipto en todas sus empresas, como se tambalea el ebrio en su vómito.

15 N either shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, palm-branch or rush, may do.

Y no le saldrá bien a Egipto cosa alguna que haga la cabeza o la cola, la palmera o el junco. Conversión de Egipto y Asiria

16 I n that day shall Egypt be like unto women; and it shall tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Jehovah of hosts, which he shaketh over it.

En aquel día los egipcios serán como mujeres; porque se asombrarán y temerán en la presencia de la mano levantada de Jehová de los ejércitos, que él agitará contra ellos.

17 A nd the land of Judah shall be a dismay unto Egypt: every one that thinketh of it shall be afraid for himself, because of the counsel of Jehovah of hosts, which he hath purposed against it.

Y la tierra de Judá servirá de espanto a Egipto; todo hombre que de ella se acordare, temerá por causa del plan que Jehová de los ejércitos trazó contra él.

18 I n that day shall there be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan, and swearing by Jehovah of hosts: one shall be called, The city of Heres.

En aquel tiempo habrá cinco ciudades en la tierra de Egipto que hablen la lengua de Canaán, y que juren por Jehová de los ejércitos; una será llamada la ciudad de destrucción.

19 I n that day shall there be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to Jehovah:

En aquel tiempo habrá un altar para Jehová en medio de la tierra de Egipto, y un monumento a Jehová junto a su frontera.

20 a nd it shall be for a sign and for a witness to Jehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto Jehovah because of the oppressors, and he will send them a saviour and defender, who shall deliver them.

Y será por señal y por testimonio a Jehová de los ejércitos en la tierra de Egipto; porque clamarán a Jehová a causa de sus opresores, y él les enviará un salvador y un defensor que los libre.

21 A nd Jehovah shall be known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know Jehovah in that day, and shall serve with sacrifice and oblation; and they shall vow a vow unto Jehovah, and perform it.

Y Jehová será conocido de Egipto, y los de Egipto conocerán a Jehová en aquel día, y harán sacrificio y oblación; y harán votos a Jehová, y los cumplirán.

22 A nd Jehovah will smite Egypt; he will smite and heal: and they shall return to Jehovah, and he will be entreated of them, and will heal them.

Y herirá Jehová a Egipto; herirá y sanará, y se convertirán a Jehová, y les será propicio y los sanará.

23 I n that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria; and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and Egypt shall serve with Assyria.

En aquel tiempo habrá una calzada de Egipto a Asiria, y asirios entrarán en Egipto, y egipcios en Asiria; y los egipcios adorarán con los asirios a Jehová.

24 I n that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth;

En aquel tiempo Israel será tercero con Egipto y con Asiria para bendición en medio de la tierra;

25 w hom Jehovah of hosts will bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance!

porque Jehová de los ejércitos los bendecirá diciendo: Bendito el pueblo mío Egipto, y el asirio obra de mis manos, e Israel mi heredad.
