1 A sk of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain; Jehovah will make lightnings, and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

Pedid a Jehová lluvia en la estación tardía. Jehová, el que hace los relámpagos, os dará lluvia abundante, y hierba verde en el campo a cada uno.

2 F or the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams: they comfort in vain. Therefore they have gone away as a flock, they are in distress, because there is no shepherd.

Porque las imágenes han hablado vanidad, y los adivinos han visto mentira, han hablado sueños vanos, y vano es su consuelo; por lo cual el pueblo vaga como ovejas, y sufre porque no tiene pastor.

3 M ine anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for Jehovah of hosts visiteth his flock, the house of Judah, and maketh them as his majestic horse in the battle.

Contra los pastores se ha encendido mi enojo, y castigaré a los machos cabríos; pero Jehová de los ejércitos visitará su rebaño, la casa de Judá, y los pondrá como su caballo de honor en la guerra.

4 F rom him shall come forth the corner-stone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every exactor together.

De él saldrá la piedra angular, de él la clavija, de él el arco de guerra, de él también todos los jefes.

5 A nd they shall be as mighty men, treading down the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, for Jehovah is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.

Y serán como valientes que en la batalla huellan al enemigo en el lodo de las calles; y pelearán, porque Jehová estará con ellos; y los que cabalgan en caballos serán avergonzados.

6 A nd I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back again; for I will have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Jehovah their God, and I will answer them.

Yo fortaleceré la casa de Judá, y daré la victoria a la casa de José, y los haré volver; porque de ellos tendré compasión, y serán como si no los hubiera desechado; porque yo soy Jehová su Dios, y los oiré.

7 A nd Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their hearts shall rejoice as through wine; and their children shall see, and rejoice; their heart shall be joyful in Jehovah.

Y Efraín será como un valiente, y se alegrará su corazón como a causa del vino; sus hijos también verán, y se alegrarán; su corazón se gozará en Jehová.

8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall multiply as they used to multiply.

Yo los llamaré con un silbido, y los reuniré, porque los he redimido; y serán tan numerosos como lo fueron antes.

9 A nd I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children and return.

Y aunque los esparciré entre los pueblos, con todo, se acordarán de mí en lejanos países; y vivirán con sus hijos, y volverán.

10 A nd I will bring them again out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and shall not be found for them.

Porque yo los haré volver de la tierra de Egipto, y los recogeré de Asiria; y los traeré a la tierra de Galaad y del Líbano, y no habrá bastante sitio para ellos.

11 A nd he shall pass through the sea of affliction, and shall smite the billows in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.

Y él atravesará el mar de la angustia, y herirá en el mar las ondas, y se secarán todas las profundidades del río; y la soberbia de Asiria será abatida, y quedará suprimido el cetro de Egipto.

12 A nd I will strengthen them in Jehovah; and they shall walk in his name, saith Jehovah.

Y yo los fortaleceré en Jehová, y caminarán en su nombre, dice Jehová.
