1 T he word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

La palabra de Jehová que vino a Jeremías, diciendo:

2 T hus speaketh Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Write thee in a book all the words that I have spoken unto thee.

Así habla Jehová, Dios de Israel, diciendo: Escríbete en un libro todas las palabras que te he hablado.

3 F or behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, when I will turn the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

Porque he aquí que vienen días, dice Jehová, en que haré volver a los cautivos de mi pueblo Israel y Judá, dice Jehová, y los haré retornar a la tierra que di a sus padres, y la disfrutarán.

4 A nd these are the words that Jehovah hath spoken concerning Israel and concerning Judah;

Y estas son las palabras que habló Jehová acerca de Israel y de Judá.

5 f or thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, there is fear, and no peace.

Porque así dice Jehová: Hemos oído voz de temblor; de espanto, y no de paz.

6 A sk ye now, and see, whether a male doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail; and all faces are turned into paleness?

Inquirid ahora, y mirad si el varón da a luz; porque he visto que todo hombre tenía las manos sobre sus lomos, como mujer que está de parto, y se han vuelto pálidos todos los rostros.

7 A las! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

¡Ah, cuán grande es aquel día!, tanto, que no hay otro semejante a él; tiempo de angustia para Jacob; pero de ella será salvado.

8 A nd it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more reduce him to servitude.

En aquel día, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, yo quebraré su yugo de tu cuello, y romperé tus coyundas, y extranjeros no lo volverán más a poner en servidumbre,

9 B ut they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

sino que servirán a Jehová su Dios y a David su rey, a quien yo les levantaré.

10 A nd thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and at ease, and none shall make afraid.

Por tanto, tú, siervo mío Jacob, no temas, dice Jehová, ni desmayes, Israel; porque he aquí que yo soy el que acudo a salvarte desde lejos a ti y a tu descendencia de la tierra de su cautividad; y Jacob volverá, descansará y vivirá tranquilo, y no habrá quien le espante.

11 F or I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee; yet of thee will I not make a full end, but I will correct thee with judgment, and will not hold thee altogether guiltless.

Porque yo estoy contigo para salvarte, dice Jehová, y destruiré a todas las naciones entre las cuales te esparcí; pero a ti no te destruiré del todo, sino que te castigaré con medida; ya que no te dejaré sin castigo.

12 F or thus saith Jehovah: Thy bruise is incurable, thy wound is grievous.

Porque así dice Jehová: Incurable es tu quebrantamiento, y grave tu herida.

13 T here is none to plead thy cause, to bind up; thou hast no healing medicines.

No hay quien juzgue tu causa para que seas vendada; no hay para ti medicamentos eficaces.

14 A ll thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not. For I have smitten thee with the stroke of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity: thy sins are manifold.

Todos tus amantes te olvidaron; no te buscan; porque como hiere un enemigo te herí, con azote de adversario cruel, a causa de la magnitud de tu maldad, porque tus pecados se habían aumentado.

15 W hy criest thou because of thy bruise? thy sorrow is incurable; for the greatness of thine iniquity, thy sins are manifold, I have done these things unto thee.

¿Por qué gritas a causa de tu quebrantamiento? Incurable es tu dolor, porque por la grandeza de tu iniquidad y por tus muchos pecados te he hecho esto.

16 T herefore all that devour thee shall be devoured, and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be for a spoil; and all they that prey upon thee will I give to be a prey.

Por eso, serán consumidos todos los que te consumen; y todos tus adversarios, todos irán en cautiverio; los que te despojan, serán despojo; y a todos los que hicieron presa de ti, daré en presa.

17 F or I will apply a bandage unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; for they have called thee an outcast: This is Zion that no man seeketh after.

Pues yo haré venir sanidad para ti, y sanaré tus heridas, dice Jehová; porque te llamaron desechada, diciendo: Ésta es Sión, de la que nadie se cuida.

18 T hus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his habitations; and the city shall be built upon her own heap; and the palace shall be inhabited after the manner thereof.

Así dice Jehová: He aquí, yo hago volver los cautivos de las tiendas de Jacob, y de sus tiendas tendré compasión, y la ciudad será edificada sobre su antigua colina, y el palacio será restablecido tal como era.

19 A nd out of them shall proceed thanksgiving, and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be diminished; and I will honour them, and they shall not be small.

Y saldrá de ellos acción de gracias, y voz de gente que está en regocijo, y los multiplicaré, y no serán disminuidos; los multiplicaré, y no serán menoscabados.

20 A nd their sons shall be as aforetime; and their assembly shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

También sus hijos serán como antes, y su congregación será delante de mí establecida; y castigaré a todos sus opresores.

21 A nd their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to approach, and he shall draw near unto me. For who is this that engageth his heart to draw near unto me? saith Jehovah.

Su príncipe será uno de ellos, y de en medio de ella saldrá su jefe; y le haré llegar cerca, y él se acercará a mí; porque ¿quién es aquel que se atreve a acercarse a mí?, dice Jehová.

22 A nd ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Y me seréis por pueblo, y yo seré vuestro Dios.

23 B ehold, a tempest of Jehovah, fury is gone forth, a sweeping storm: it shall whirl down upon the head of the wicked.

He aquí, la tempestad de Jehová sale con furor; la tempestad que barre como un torbellino; remolineará sobre la cabeza de los malvados.

24 T he fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and until he have performed the purposes of his heart. At the end of the days ye shall consider it.

No se calmará el ardor de la ira de Jehová, hasta que haya hecho y cumplido los designios de su corazón; en el fin de los días os percataréis de esto.
