1 T he word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

هَذِهِ الكَلِمَةُ جاءَتْ إلَى إرْمِيا مِنَ اللهِ:

2 T hus speaketh Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Write thee in a book all the words that I have spoken unto thee.

«هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ القَدِيرُ إلَهُ إسْرائِيلَ: ‹اكتُبْ جَميعَ الكَلامِ الَّذِي كَلَّمْتُكَ بِهِ عَلَى لَفِيفةٍ.

3 F or behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, when I will turn the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

فَسَتَأتِي أيّامٌ، يَقُولُ اللهُ ، حِينَ أُرجِعُ فِيها ما سُلِبَ مِنْ بَني إسْرائِيلَ وَيَهُوذا، يَقُولُ اللهُ. وَسَأُرجِعُهُمْ إلَى هَذِهِ الأرْضِ الَّتِي أعطَيتُها لآبائِهِمْ لِكَي يَمتَلِكُوها.›»

4 A nd these are the words that Jehovah hath spoken concerning Israel and concerning Judah;

هَذا هُوَ الكَلامُ الَّذِي تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ اللهُ عَنْ إسْرائِيلَ وَيَهُوذا.

5 f or thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, there is fear, and no peace.

لأنَّ هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «سَمِعْنا صَوتَ رُعبٍ، سَمِعنا عَنْ خَوفٍ لا سَلامٍ.

6 A sk ye now, and see, whether a male doth travail with child? Wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail; and all faces are turned into paleness?

«اسألُوا وَانظُرُوا إنْ كانَ هُناكَ رَجُلٌ يَلِدُ! فَلِماذا أرَى كُلَّ الرِّجالِ الأبطالِ يَضَعُونَ أيدِيهِمْ عَلَى بُطُونِهِمْ، كَالنِّساءِ اللَّواتِي يَلِدنَ؟ وَلِماذا شَحُبَتْ كُلُّ وُجُوهِهِمْ؟

7 A las! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

«وَيلٌ لَهُمْ، لأنَّ ذَلِكَ اليَومَ عَظِيمٌ، وَلَيسَ لَهُ مَثِيلٌ. سَيَكُونُ وَقتَ ضِيقٍ لِيَعقُوبَ، وَلَكِنَّهُ سَيَخلُصُ مِنهُ.

8 A nd it shall come to pass in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more reduce him to servitude.

«فِي ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ، يَقُولُ اللهُ القَدِيرُ، سَأُكَسِّرُ نِيرَ بابِلَ عَنْ كَتِفِكَ، وَسَأنزَعُ قُيُودَكَ. حِينَئِذٍ، لَنْ يُجبِرَهُمُ الغُرَباءُ، فِيما بَعْدُ، عَلَى خِدمَتِهِمْ،

9 B ut they shall serve Jehovah their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

لَكِنَّهُمْ سَيَخدِمُونَ إلَهَهُمْ وَداوُدَ مَلِكَهُمْ، الَّذِي سَأُعِينُهُ عَلَيهِمْ.

10 A nd thou, my servant Jacob, fear not, saith Jehovah; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and at ease, and none shall make afraid.

«أمّا أنتَ يا خادِمِي يَعقُوبَ، فَلا تَخَفْ، يَقُولُ اللهُ ، وَأنتَ يا إسْرائِيلُ، لا تَرتَعِبْ. لأنِّي سَأُخَلِّصُكَ مِنْ بَعِيدٍ، وَسَأُنقِذُ نَسلَكَ مِنْ أرْضِ سَبيِهِمْ. سَيَرجِعُ يَعقُوبُ، وَسَيَكُونُ فِي راحَةٍ وَأمانٍ، وَلَنْ يَكُونَ هُناكَ مَنْ يُزعِجُهُ.

11 F or I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee: for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have scattered thee; yet of thee will I not make a full end, but I will correct thee with judgment, and will not hold thee altogether guiltless.

لأنِّي مَعَكَ، يَقُولُ اللهُ ، لأُنقِذَكَ، وَلأنِّي سَأُفنِي الأُمَمَ الَّتِي بَدَّدْتُكَ فِي وَسَطِها. أمّا أنتَ فَلَنْ أُفنِيكَ، لَكِنِّي سَأُؤَدِّبُكَ بِالعَدلِ، وَلَنْ أدَعَ إثمَكَ بِلا عِقابٍ.»

12 F or thus saith Jehovah: Thy bruise is incurable, thy wound is grievous.

لأنَّ هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «إصابَتُكَ لا شِفاءَ لَها، وَجُرحُكَ بَلِيغٌ.

13 T here is none to plead thy cause, to bind up; thou hast no healing medicines.

لا يُوجَدُ مَنْ يُدافِعُ عَنْ قَضِيَّتِكَ. وَما مِنْ شِفاءٍ اِجُرحِكَ.

14 A ll thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not. For I have smitten thee with the stroke of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of thine iniquity: thy sins are manifold.

كُلُّ الَّذِينَ كانُوا يُحِبُّونَكَ نَسُوكَ، وَهُمْ لا يَهتَمُّونَ بِخَيْرِكَ. لأنَّي ضَرَبْتُكَ ضَربَةً قاسِيَةً كَعَدُوٍّ، بِسَبَبِ كِبَرِ إثمِكَ، وَكَثرَةِ خَطاياكَ.

15 W hy criest thou because of thy bruise? thy sorrow is incurable; for the greatness of thine iniquity, thy sins are manifold, I have done these things unto thee.

لِماذا تَصرُخِينَ بِسَبَبِ إصابَتِكِ؟ جُرحُكِ لا يُمكِنُ شِفاؤُهُ. بِسَبَبِ عَظَمَةِ إثمِكِ، وَبِسَبَبِ كَثرَةِ خَطاياكِ، عَمِلتُ هَذِا بِكِ.

16 T herefore all that devour thee shall be devoured, and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be for a spoil; and all they that prey upon thee will I give to be a prey.

لِذَلِكَ، كُلُّ الَّذِينَ التَهَمُوكِ سَيُلتَهَمُونَ، وَكُلُّ خُصُومِكِ سَيَذهَبُونَ إلَى السَّبيِ. الَّذِينَ سَلَبُوكِ سَيُسلَبُونَ، وَكُلُّ الَّذِينَ يَنهَبُونَكِ سَيُنهَبُونَ.

17 F or I will apply a bandage unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; for they have called thee an outcast: This is Zion that no man seeketh after.

يَقُولُ اللهُ: «سَأُعِيدُ صِحَّتَكِ إلَيكِ، وَسَأُشفِيكِ مِنْ جُرُوحِكِ، لأنَّ النّاسَ دَعُوكِ ‹المَنبُوذَةَ.› قالُوا: ‹هَذِهِ صِهْيَوْنُ الَّتِي لا يُرِيدُها أحَدٌ.›»

18 T hus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his habitations; and the city shall be built upon her own heap; and the palace shall be inhabited after the manner thereof.

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «سَأُغَيِّرُ مَصِيرَ خِيامِ يَعقُوبَ وَسَأرحَمُ مَساكِنَهُ، وَسَتُبنَى المَدِينَةُ عَلَى خَرائِبِها، وَالقَصرُ فِي مَكانِهِ.

19 A nd out of them shall proceed thanksgiving, and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be diminished; and I will honour them, and they shall not be small.

سَتَخرُجُ تَرانِيمُ الشُّكرِ مِنهُمْ، وَكَذَلِكَ صَوتُ الضَّحِكِ. سَأُكَثِّرُهُمْ، فَلا يَكُونُونَ قَلِيلِينَ، وَسَأُكرِمُهُمْ، فَلا يَكُونُونَ مُنبُوذِينَ.

20 A nd their sons shall be as aforetime; and their assembly shall be established before me; and I will punish all that oppress them.

وَسَيَكُونُ نَسلُهُمْ كَما كانَ مِنْ قَبلُ، وَسَتَثبُتُ جَماعَتُهُمْ أمامِي، وَسَأُعاقِبُ كُلَّ الَّذِينَ يُضايِقُونَهُمْ.

21 A nd their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to approach, and he shall draw near unto me. For who is this that engageth his heart to draw near unto me? saith Jehovah.

وَسَيَأتِي قائِدٌ مِنْ شَعبِهِ، وَسَيَخرُجُ حاكِمُهُ مِنْ وَسَطِهِ. سَأُقَرِّبُهُ فَيَقتَرِبَ مِنِّي، لأنَّهُ مَنْ يَجرُؤُ عَلَى الاقتِرابِ مِنِّي،» يَقُولُ اللهُ.

22 A nd ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

«وَسَتَكُونُونَ شَعبِي، وَسَأكُونُ إلَهَكُمْ.»

23 B ehold, a tempest of Jehovah, fury is gone forth, a sweeping storm: it shall whirl down upon the head of the wicked.

ها عاصِفَةُ اللهِ! غَضَبُهُ يَخْرُجُ، يَلتَفُّ فَوقَ رُؤوسِ الأشْرارِ كَالإعْصارِ.

24 T he fierce anger of Jehovah shall not return, until he have executed, and until he have performed the purposes of his heart. At the end of the days ye shall consider it.

لَنْ يَرتَدَّ غَضَبُ اللهِ الشَّدِيدُ، حَتَّى يُتَمِّمَ ما يَنوِي عَمَلَهُ. فِي الايّامِ الأخِيرَةِ، سَتَفهَمُونَ.
