1 I t is good to give thanks unto Jehovah, and to sing psalms unto thy name, O Most High;

حَسَنٌ هُوَ تَقدِيمُ الشُّكرِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ للهِ ، وَالتَّغَنِّي باسمِكَ أيُّها اللهُ العَلِيُّ.

2 T o declare thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness in the nights,

حَسَنٌ أنْ يُخبَرَ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ كُلَّ صَباحٍ. وَبِإخلاصِكَ فِي اللَّيلِ.

3 U pon an instrument of ten strings and upon the lute; upon the Higgaion with the harp.

حَسَنٌ أنْ يَكُونَ التَّغَنِّي مَصحُوباً بِقَيثارَةٍ ذاتِ عَشْرَةِ أوتارٍ، وَدَندَنَةِ العُودِ.

4 F or thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

لأنَّكَ فَرَّحتَنِي يا اللهُ بِأعمالِكَ. وَأنا أبتَهِجُ بِأعمالِ يَدَيكَ.

5 J ehovah, how great are thy works! Thy thoughts are very deep:

أعمالُكَ عَظِيمَةٌ جِدّاً يا اللهُ ، وَأفكارُكَ تَتَجاوَزُ الفَهمَ.

6 A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand it.

كَثِيراً ما يُشْبِهُ النّاسُ البَهائِمَ الغَبِيَّةَ، هُمْ لا يَفهَمُونَ شَيئاً.

7 W hen the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed for ever.

رُبَّما يُزهِرُ الأشرارُ كَالأزهارِ البَرِّيَّةِ، وَقَدْ يَنمُو فاعِلُو الشَّرِّ فِي كُلِّ مَكانٍ، لَكِنَّهُمْ إلَى الأبَدِ سَيُدَمَّرُونَ!

8 A nd thou, Jehovah, art on high for evermore.

أمّا أنتَ يا اللهُ ، فَإلَى الأبَدِ مُرْتَفِعٌ!

9 F or lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, for lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

أمّا أعداؤكَ يا اللهُ فَسَيَهلِكُونَ، وَكُلُّ فاعِلِي الشَّرِّ سَيَتَبَعثَرُونَ.

10 B ut my horn shalt thou exalt like a buffalo's: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

وَأنتَ قَوَّيتَنِي كَثَورٍ بَرِّيٍّ. وَسكَبْتَ زَيتَكَ النَّقِيَ عَلَى رأسِي!

11 A nd mine eye shall see on mine enemies; mine ears shall hear of the evil-doers that rise up against me.

أجَلْ، رَأيتُ رِجالَ العِصاباتِ يَكمُنُونَ لِي، يَتَأهَّبُونَ لِلانقِضاضِ عَلَيَّ! سَمِعْتُ أُولَئِكَ الأشرارَ وَهُمْ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ لِلهُجُومِ عَلَيَّ!

12 T he righteous shall shoot forth like a palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar on Lebanon.

كَنَخلَةٍ يُزهِرُ الإنسانُ الصّالِحُ، وَكَأرْزَةٍ فِي لُبنانَ سَيَعلُو.

13 T hose that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God:

يُزهِرُ أُولَئِكَ المَزرُوعُونَ فِي ساحَةِ بَيتِ اللهِ إلَهِنا!

14 T hey are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green;

حَتَّى فِي شَيخُوخَتِهِمْ سَيُواصِلُونَ الإثمارَ، كَأشجارٍ دائِمَةِ الخُضرَةِ.

15 T o shew that Jehovah is upright: my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

لِكَي يُخبِرُوا بِأنَّ اللهَ أمينٌ، هُوَ صَخْرَتِي، وَلا ظُلمَ فِيهِ.
