1 I t is good to give thanks unto Jehovah, and to sing psalms unto thy name, O Most High;

Bine este să se aducă laudă Domnului, să se cânte Numelui Tău, Preaînalte,

2 T o declare thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness in the nights,

să se vestească dimineaţa îndurarea Ta şi credincioşia Ta – noaptea,

3 U pon an instrument of ten strings and upon the lute; upon the Higgaion with the harp.

cu lira cea cu zece corzi, cu harfa şi în sunet de liră.

4 F or thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

Căci Tu mă înveseleşti, Doamne, prin ceea ce înfăptuieşti; la lucrările mâinilor Tale strig de bucurie!

5 J ehovah, how great are thy works! Thy thoughts are very deep:

Ce măreţe sunt lucrările Tale, Doamne! Cât de adânci sunt gândurile Tale!

6 A brutish man knoweth not, neither doth a fool understand it.

Omul fără minte nu cunoaşte acest lucru şi nebunul nu-l înţelege.

7 W hen the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed for ever.

Cei răi înmuguresc ca iarba şi toţi cei ce săvârşesc nelegiuirea înfloresc, dar numai ca să fie nimiciţi pe vecie.

8 A nd thou, Jehovah, art on high for evermore.

Însă Tu, Doamne, eşti înălţat pe vecie!

9 F or lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, for lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

Duşmanii Tăi, Doamne, duşmanii Tăi pier! Sunt îndepărtaţi toţi cei ce săvârşesc nelegiuirea!

10 B ut my horn shalt thou exalt like a buffalo's: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

Mie însă îmi înalţi puterea ca bivolului sălbatic; sunt uns cu uleiuri proaspete.

11 A nd mine eye shall see on mine enemies; mine ears shall hear of the evil-doers that rise up against me.

Ochii mei au văzut pedepsirea duşmanilor mei, iar urechile mele au auzit zdrobirea celor răi care se ridicau împotriva mea.

12 T he righteous shall shoot forth like a palm-tree; he shall grow like a cedar on Lebanon.

Cel drept înmugureşte ca palmierul şi creşte ca cedrul din Liban.

13 T hose that are planted in the house of Jehovah shall flourish in the courts of our God:

Cei sădiţi în Casa Domnului, înmuguresc în curţile Dumnezeului nostru.

14 T hey are still vigorous in old age, they are full of sap and green;

Ei rodesc până la bătrâneţe, sunt plini de miez şi de verdeaţă,

15 T o shew that Jehovah is upright: my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

ca să se facă de cunoscut că Domnul este drept. Stânca mea! În El nu există nedreptate!
