1 H ear this, ye priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king: for this judgment is for you; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

„Ascultaţi aceasta, preoţilor! Ia aminte, Casă a lui Israel! Pleacă-ţi urechea, familie regală! Căci pentru voi este judecata aceasta, fiindcă aţi fost o cursă la Miţpa şi un laţ întins asupra Taborului!

2 A nd they have plunged themselves in the corruption of apostasy, but I will be a chastiser of them all.

Răzvrătiţii se afundă în măcel, dar Eu îi voi disciplina pe toţi.

3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, Ephraim, thou hast committed whoredom; Israel is defiled.

Eu îl cunosc pe Efraim, iar Israel nu-Mi este ascuns, căci acum, Efraime, te-ai prostituat, iar Israel s-a întinat!

4 T heir doings do not allow them to return unto their God; for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they know not Jehovah.

Faptele lor nu le îngăduie să se întoarcă la Dumnezeul lor, căci în mijlocul lor este un duh de desfrâu şi ei nu-L cunosc pe Domnul.

5 A nd Israel's pride doth testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall by their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.

Mândria lui Israel mărturiseşte împotriva lui. Israel şi Efraim se împiedică în înseşi fărădelegile lor, iar Iuda se împiedică împreună cu ei.

6 T hey shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find: he hath withdrawn himself from them.

Vor merge cu turmele şi cu cirezile lor să-L caute pe Domnul, dar nu-L vor găsi, căci S-a depărtat de la ei.

7 T hey have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have begotten strange children: now shall the new moon devour them, with their allotted possessions.

Au fost necredincioşi faţă de Domnul, căci au născut copii nelegitimi. Acum sărbătoarea lunii noi îi va devora, pe ei şi ogoarele lor.

8 B low the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; cry aloud Beth-aven: behind thee, O Benjamin!

Sunaţi din corn la Ghiva şi din trâmbiţă la Rama! Strigaţi în Bet-Aven! După tine, Beniamine!

9 E phraim shall be a desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which is sure.

Efraim va deveni o pustie în ziua mustrării – fac cunoscut seminţiilor lui Israel acest lucru care este sigur.

10 T he princes of Judah are become like them that remove the landmark: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

Căpeteniile lui Iuda sunt ca cei ce mută hotarele. Îmi voi revărsa furia asupra lor ca un potop de ape.

11 E phraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because in selfwill he walked after the commandment.

Efraim este asuprit, zdrobit sub judecată, căci i-a plăcut să meargă după învăţături false.

12 A nd I will be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

Eu sunt ca o molie pentru Efraim şi ca un putregai pentru Casa lui Iuda.

13 W hen Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sore, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb; but he was unable to heal you, nor hath he removed your sore.

Când Efraim şi-a văzut boala şi Iuda – rănile, Efraim s-a dus în Asiria şi a trimis după măreţul împărat. Dar el nu poate să vă vindece, nici să vă trateze rana.

14 F or I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, I will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.

Căci Eu voi fi ca un leu pentru Efraim şi ca un leu tânăr pentru Casa lui Iuda. Eu Însumi voi sfâşia şi apoi voi pleca; voi prăda şi nimeni nu-Mi va lua prada.

15 I will go away, I will return to my place, till they acknowledge their trespass, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

Voi pleca şi mă voi întoarce în Locul Meu, până când îşi vor recunoaşte vina. Ei vor căuta faţa Mea; în strâmtorarea lor Mă vor căuta cu adevărat.“
