1 L et not your heart be troubled; ye believe on God, believe also on me.

Să nu vi se tulbure inima! Credeţi în Dumnezeu şi credeţi în Mine!

2 I n my Father's house there are many abodes; were it not so, I had told you: for I go to prepare you a place;

În casa Tatălui Meu sunt multe locuinţe. Dacă n-ar fi aşa, v-aş fi spus. Eu Mă duc să vă pregătesc un loc.

3 a nd if I go and shall prepare you a place, I am coming again and shall receive you to myself, that where I am ye also may be.

Iar dacă Mă voi duce şi vă voi pregăti un loc, Mă voi întoarce şi vă voi lua cu Mine, ca acolo unde sunt Eu, să fiţi şi voi.

4 A nd ye know where I go, and ye know the way.

Ştiţi calea spre locul unde Mă duc Eu.

5 T homas says to him, Lord, we know not where thou goest, and how can we know the way?

Toma I-a zis: – Doamne, nu ştim unde Te duci; cum putem să ştim calea?!

6 J esus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father unless by me.

Isus i-a răspuns: – Eu sunt calea, adevărul şi viaţa. Nimeni nu vine la Tatăl decât prin Mine.

7 I f ye had known me, ye would have known also my Father, and henceforth ye know him and have seen him.

Dacă M-aţi cunoscut pe Mine, Îl veţi cunoaşte şi pe Tatăl Meu. Şi de acum Îl cunoaşteţi şi L-aţi văzut.

8 P hilip says to him, Lord, shew us the Father and it suffices us.

Filip I-a zis: – Doamne, arată-ni-L pe Tatăl şi ne este de ajuns!

9 J esus says to him, Am I so long a time with you, and thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou, Shew us the Father?

Isus i-a răspuns: – De atâta timp sunt cu voi şi nu M-ai cunoscut, Filip? Cel ce M-a văzut pe Mine L-a văzut pe Tatăl. Cum de spui: „Arată-ni-L pe Tatăl!“?!

10 B elievest thou not that I in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words which I speak to you I do not speak from myself; but the Father who abides in me, he does the works.

Nu crezi că Eu sunt în Tatăl şi Tatăl este în Mine? Cuvintele pe care vi le spun nu le spun de la Mine, ci Tatăl, Care locuieşte în Mine, Îşi face lucrările Lui.

11 B elieve me that I in the Father and the Father in me; but if not, believe me for the works' sake themselves.

Credeţi-Mă că Eu sunt în Tatăl şi Tatăl în Mine! Dacă nu, credeţi măcar datorită lucrărilor înseşi!

12 V erily, verily, I say to you, He that believes on me, the works which I do shall he do also, and he shall do greater than these, because I go to the Father.

Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că cel ce crede în Mine va face şi el lucrările pe care le fac Eu, ba încă va face lucrări mai mari decât acestea, pentru că Eu Mă duc la Tatăl;

13 A nd whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

şi orice veţi cere în Numele Meu, voi face, pentru ca Tatăl să fie proslăvit în Fiul.

14 I f ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.

Dacă veţi cere ceva în Numele Meu, voi face. Promisiunea Duhului Sfânt

15 I f ye love me, keep my commandments.

Dacă Mă iubiţi, veţi păzi poruncile Mele.

16 A nd I will beg the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever,

Iar Eu Îl voi ruga pe Tatăl şi El vă va da un alt Apărător, Care să fie cu voi în veac, şi anume

17 t he Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him nor know him; but ye know him, for he abides with you, and shall be in you.

Duhul adevărului, pe Care lumea nu-L poate primi, pentru că nici nu-L vede, nici nu-L cunoaşte. Voi Îl cunoaşteţi, pentru că rămâne cu voi şi va fi în voi.

18 I will not leave you orphans, I am coming to you.

Nu vă voi lăsa orfani; voi veni iarăşi la voi.

19 Y et a little and the world sees me no longer; but ye see me; because I live ye also shall live.

Încă puţin, şi lumea nu Mă va mai vedea, însă voi Mă veţi vedea; pentru că Eu trăiesc, şi voi veţi trăi.

20 I n that day ye shall know that I in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

În ziua aceea veţi cunoaşte că Eu sunt în Tatăl Meu, voi în Mine şi Eu în voi.

21 H e that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; but he that loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.

Cel ce are poruncile Mele şi le păzeşte, acela este cel ce Mă iubeşte. Şi cel ce Mă iubeşte va fi iubit de Tatăl Meu, iar Eu îl voi iubi şi Mă voi arăta lui.

22 J udas, not the Iscariote, says to him, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us and not to the world?

Iuda, nu Iscarioteanul, L-a întrebat: – Doamne, cum se face că urmează să Te arăţi nouă şi nu lumii?

23 J esus answered and said to him, If any one love me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.

Isus i-a răspuns: – Dacă Mă iubeşte cineva, va păzi Cuvântul Meu; şi Tatăl Meu îl va iubi, iar Noi vom veni la el şi vom locui împreună cu el.

24 H e that loves me not does not keep my words; and the word which ye hear is not mine, but of the Father who has sent me.

Cine nu Mă iubeşte nu păzeşte cuvintele Mele; şi cuvântul pe care-l auziţi nu este al Meu, ci al Tatălui, Care M-a trimis.

25 T hese things I have said to you, abiding with you;

V-am spus aceste lucruri cât sunt încă cu voi.

26 b ut the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and will bring to your remembrance all the things which I have said to you.

Dar Apărătorul, adică Duhul Sfânt, pe Care Tatăl Îl va trimite în Numele Meu, vă va învăţa toate lucrurile şi vă va reaminti tot ce v-am spus.

27 I leave peace with you; I give my peace to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it fear.

Vă las pace, vă dau pacea Mea. Nu v-o dau aşa cum o dă lumea. Să nu vi se tulbure inima, nici să nu se înspăimânte!

28 Y e have heard that I have said unto you, I go away and I am coming to you. If ye loved me ye would rejoice that I go to the Father, for Father is greater than I.

Aţi auzit că v-am spus: „Mă duc şi voi veni iarăşi la voi.“ Dacă Mă iubeaţi, v-aţi fi bucurat că Mă duc la Tatăl, pentru că Tatăl este mai mare decât Mine.

29 A nd now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it shall have come to pass ye may believe.

Şi v-am spus acum, înainte să se întâmple, pentru ca, atunci când se va întâmpla, să credeţi.

30 I will no longer speak much with you, for the ruler of the world comes, and in me he has nothing;

Nu voi mai vorbi mult cu voi, pentru că vine domnitorul lumii acesteia. El nu are nimic în Mine,

31 b ut that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father has commanded me, thus I do. Rise up, let us go hence.

dar trebuie ca lumea să cunoască că Eu Îl iubesc pe Tatăl şi că fac aşa cum mi-a poruncit Tatăl. Ridicaţi-vă, să plecăm de aici!
