1 A nd Jehovah said to Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh; for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

Domnul i-a răspuns lui Moise: – Vei vedea acum ce-i voi face lui Faraon. O mână puternică îl va sili să-i lase să plece. Datorită unei mâini puternice, el îi va izgoni din ţara lui.

2 A nd God spoke to Moses, and said to him, I am Jehovah.

Dumnezeu i-a mai zis lui Moise: – Eu sunt Domnul.

3 A nd I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as the Almighty God; but by my name Jehovah I was not made known to them.

Eu M-am descoperit lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacov ca Dumnezeul Atotputernic, dar cu Numele de „ Domnul “ nu M-am făcut cunoscut lor.

4 A nd I established also my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were sojourners.

Am făcut legământ cu ei ca să le dau Canaanul, ţara în care au locuit ca străini;

5 A nd I have heard also the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians have forced to serve, and I have remembered my covenant.

tot Eu am auzit geamătul israeliţilor pe care egiptenii îi ţin ca sclavi şi Mi-am adus aminte de acest legământ.

6 T herefore say unto the children of Israel, I am Jehovah, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their service, and I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments.

De aceea aşa să le spui israeliţilor: „Eu sunt Domnul şi vă voi scoate de sub jugul egiptenilor; vă voi elibera din sclavia în care ei vă ţin. Vă voi răscumpăra cu o mână întinsă şi cu faptele măreţe ale judecăţii Mele.

7 A nd I will take you to me for a people, and will be your God; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah your God, am he who bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

Vă voi lua ca popor al Meu şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru. Veţi şti că Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, Care v-a eliberat de sub jugul egiptenilor.

8 A nd I will bring you into the land concerning which I swore to give it unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; and I will give it you for a possession: I am Jehovah.

Vă voi duce în ţara pe care am jurat că o voi da lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacov şi am să v-o dau vouă ca moştenire. Eu sunt Domnul. “

9 A nd Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not listen to Moses from anguish of spirit, and from hard service.

Moise le-a spus aceste cuvinte israeliţilor, dar ei nu le-au luat în seamă din cauza deznădejdii şi a sclaviei cumplite în care se aflau.

10 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

După aceea, Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

11 G o in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

– Du-te şi spune-i lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, să-i lase pe israeliţi să plece din ţara sa.

12 A nd Moses spoke before Jehovah, saying, Lo, the children of Israel do not hearken to me: how then should Pharaoh hearken to me, to me of uncircumcised lips?

Dar Moise I-a răspuns Domnului: – Dacă israeliţii nu m-au luat în seamă, cum mă va asculta atunci Faraon pe mine, un vorbitor atât de slab ?

13 A nd Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a commandment to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

Domnul le-a vorbit lui Moise şi Aaron şi le-a dat porunci cu privire la israeliţi şi la monarhul Egiptului, pentru a-i putea scoate pe israeliţi din Egipt. Genealogia lui Moise şi a lui Aaron

14 T hese are the heads of their fathers' houses: the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallu, Hezron and Carmi: these are the families of Reuben.

Iată-i pe cei care au fost conducătorii familiilor părinţilor lor: Fiii lui Ruben, întâiul născut al lui Israel, au fost: Hanoh, Palu, Heţron şi Carmi; acestea au fost clanurile lui Ruben.

15 — And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Saul the son of a Canaanitish woman: these are the families of Simeon.

Fiii lui Simeon au fost: Iemuel, Iamin, Ohad, Iachin, Ţohar şi Saul, fiul unei canaanite; acestea au fost clanurile lui Simeon.

16 A nd these are the names of the sons of Levi, according to their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

Fiii lui Levi, potrivit genealogiilor lor, au fost: Gherşon, Chehat şi Merari. Durata vieţii lui Levi a fost de o sută treizeci şi şapte de ani.

17 T he sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

Fiii lui Gherşon au fost: Libni şi Şimei, potrivit clanurilor lor.

18 A nd the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred and thirty-three years.

Fiii lui Chehat au fost: Amram, Iţhar, Hebron şi Uziel. Durata vieţii lui Chehat a fost de o sută treizeci şi trei de ani.

19 A nd the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations.

Fiii lui Merari au fost: Mahli şi Muşi. Acestea au fost clanurile lui Levi, potrivit genealogiilor lor.

20 A nd Amram took Jochebed his aunt as wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty-seven years.

Amram a luat-o de soţie pe Iochebed, sora tatălui său. Ea i-a născut lui Amram pe Aaron şi pe Moise. Durata vieţii lui Amram a fost de o sută treizeci şi şapte de ani.

21 A nd the sons of Jizhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zicri.

Fiii lui Iţhar au fost: Korah, Nefeg şi Zicri,

22 A nd the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

iar fiii lui Uziel: Mişael, Elţafan şi Sitri.

23 A nd Aaron took Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Nahshon, as wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Aaron a luat-o de soţie pe Elişeba, fiica lui Aminadab, sora lui Nahşon. Ea i-a născut lui Aaron pe Nadab, pe Abihu, pe Elazar şi pe Itamar.

24 A nd the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korahites.

Fiii lui Korah au fost: Asir, Elkana şi Abiasaf. Acestea au fost clanurile korahiţilor.

25 A nd Eleazar Aaron's son took of the daughters of Putiel as wife; and she bore him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families.

Elazar, fiul lui Aaron, a luat-o de soţie pe una dintre fiicele lui Putiel. Ea i l-a născut pe Fineas. Aceştia au fost conducătorii familiilor leviţilor, potrivit clanurilor lor.

26 T his is that Aaron and Moses, to whom Jehovah said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.

Iar aceşti Aaron şi Moise sunt cei cărora Domnul le-a zis să-i scoată pe israeliţi din ţara Egiptului, după oştirile lor.

27 T hese are they who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: this is that Moses and Aaron.

Ei sunt cei care i-au zis lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, să-i lase pe israeliţi să plece din Egipt – aceşti Moise şi Aaron. Aaron vorbeşte pentru Moise

28 A nd it came to pass on the day when Jehovah spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

În ziua când Domnul i-a vorbit lui Moise în ţara Egiptului,

29 t hat Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying, I am Jehovah: speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say unto thee.

El i-a zis: – Eu sunt Domnul; spune-i lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, tot ce ţi-am poruncit.

30 A nd Moses said before Jehovah, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how will Pharaoh hearken unto me?

Însă Moise i-a răspuns Domnului: – Dar eu sunt un vorbitor slab, de ce m-ar asculta Faraon?
