1 L isten, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples from afar. Jehovah hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

«Ascultaţi-Mă, ţinuturi de lângă mare! Luaţi aminte, popoare de departe! Domnul M-a chemat înainte să mă nasc; pe când eram încă în pântecele mamei Mele, El Mi-a rostit numele.

2 A nd he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hath concealed me under the shadow of his hand, and he hath made me a polished shaft: in his quiver hath he hidden me.

Mi-a făcut gura ca o sabie ascuţită şi M-a ascuns la umbra mâinii Sale; M-a făcut o săgeată lustruită şi M-a ascuns în tolba Lui.

3 A nd he said unto me, Thou art my servant, Israel, in whom I will glorify myself.

Mi-a zis: ‘Tu eşti Robul Meu Israel, cel în care Îmi voi arăta splendoarea!’

4 — And I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought and in vain; nevertheless my judgment is with Jehovah, and my work with my God.

Dar Eu am zis: ‘Am trudit degeaba, Mi-am irosit puterea pentru nimic şi fără nici un folos; totuşi cauza Mea este în grija domnului, iar răsplata Mea este la Dumnezeul Meu.’

5 A nd now, saith Jehovah, that formed me from the womb to be his servant, that I should bring Jacob again to him; (though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorified in the eyes of Jehovah, and my God shall be my strength;)

Şi acum Domnul zice – El, Care M-a întocmit din pântece pentru a fi Robul Său şi pentru a-l aduce pe Iacov înapoi la El, ca astfel Israel să se adune la El, căci sunt onorat înaintea Domnului şi Dumnezeul Meu a devenit tăria Mea –

6 — and he saith, It is a small thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel; I have even given thee for a light of the nations, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

El zice: ‘Este prea puţin pentru Tine să fii Robul Meu şi să ridici seminţiile lui Iacov, să aduci înapoi pe supravieţuitorii lui Israel. De aceea Te-am pus să fii o lumină pentru neamuri, ca să duci mântuirea Mea până la marginile pământului!’»

7 T hus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to the servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, princes, and they shall worship, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.

Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Răscumpărătorul lui Israel şi Sfântul său, către Cel dispreţuit şi urât de popor, către Robul conducătorilor: «Regii vor vedea şi se vor ridica, iar prinţii se vor pleca, din pricina Domnului, Care este credincios, a Sfântului lui Israel, Care Te-a ales.»“ Restaurarea lui Israel

8 T hus saith Jehovah: In a time of acceptance have I answered thee, and in the day of salvation have I helped thee; and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the land, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

„Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «La vremea îndurării Îţi voi răspunde şi în ziua mântuirii Te voi ajuta; Te voi păzi şi Te voi face un legământ pentru popor, pentru a reface ţara şi a reîmpărţi moştenirile pustiite,

9 s aying to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pasture shall be on all bare hills.

pentru a le zice captivilor: ‘Ieşiţi!’, iar celor din întuneric: ‘Arătaţi-vă!’ Ei se vor hrăni pe lângă drumuri şi vor găsi păşune pe toate dealurile pleşuve.

10 T hey shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor sun smite them; for he that hath mercy on them will lead them, and by the springs of water will he guide them.

Nu le va fi foame, nici nu le va fi sete, arşiţa nu-i va lovi, nici soarele, căci Cel Ce se îndură de ei îi va conduce şi îi va călăuzi pe lângă izvoare de apă.

11 A nd I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be raised up.

Îmi voi preface toţi munţii în cărări şi drumuri largi Îmi vor fi construite.

12 B ehold, these shall come from afar; and behold, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

Iată-i venind de departe – unii dinspre nord, unii dinspre apus, iar alţii dinspre ţinutul Syene.»

13 S hout, ye heavens; and be joyful, thou earth; and break forth into singing, ye mountains: for Jehovah hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted ones.

Strigaţi de bucurie, ceruri! Bucură-te, pământ! Chiuiţi de bucurie, munţilor! Căci Domnul Şi-a mângâiat poporul şi va avea îndurare faţă de ai Săi care suferă!

14 B ut Zion said, Jehovah hath forsaken me, and the Lord hath forgotten me.

Sionul însă a zis: « Domnul m-a părăsit, Stăpânul meu a uitat de mine.»

15 C an a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even these forget, but I will not forget thee.

«Dar oare poate o femeie să-şi uite copilul pe care-l alăptează sau să nu aibă milă de rodul pântecelui său? Şi chiar dacă ea ar uita, Eu nu te voi uita!

16 L o, I have graven thee upon the palms of hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Iată, te-am încrustat în palmele Mele, iar zidurile tale sunt pururi înaintea Mea.

17 T hy sons shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that laid thee waste shall go forth from thee.

Fiii tăi se grăbesc să se întoarcă, iar cei ce te-au distrus şi te-au lăsat în ruină se îndepărtează de tine.

18 L ift up thine eyes round about and behold: they all gather themselves together, they come to thee. As I live, saith Jehovah, thou shalt indeed clothe thee with them all as with an ornament, and bind them on as a bride doth.

Ridică-ţi ochii şi priveşte în jur! Toţi fiii tăi se adună şi vin la tine. Viu sunt Eu, zice Domnul, că-i vei purta pe toţi ca pe o podoabă, te vei împodobi cu ei ca o mireasă.

19 F or thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy destroyed land, thou shalt even now be too straitened by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

Pentru că ruinele, locurile tale pustii şi ţara ta devastată vor fi acum prea strâmte pentru poporul tău, iar cei ce te-au devorat vor fi departe.

20 T he children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too narrow for me: make room for me, that I may dwell.

Fiii de care ai fost lipsită îţi vor spune chiar în auzul tău: ‘Locul este prea strâmt pentru mine; fă-mi mai mult loc ca să locuiesc!’

21 A nd thou shalt say in thy heart, Who hath borne me these, seeing I had lost my children and was desolate, an exile, and driven about? and who hath brought up these? behold, I was left alone; these, where were they?

Atunci te vei întreba: ‘Cine mi i-a născut pe aceştia? Eram fără copii şi stearpă, exilată şi izgonită. Cine i-a crescut? Eram părăsită şi singură, deci de unde sunt aceştia?’»“

22 T hus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and set up my banner to the peoples; and they shall bring thy sons in bosom, and thy daughters shall be carried upon the shoulder.

„Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, voi face cu mâna semn neamurilor şi Îmi voi ridica steagul către popoare; ele îţi vor aduce fiii pe braţe, iar fiicele îţi vor fi purtate pe umerii lor.

23 A nd kings shall be thy nursing-fathers, and their princesses thy nursing-mothers: they shall bow down to thee with the face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet. And thou shalt know that I Jehovah; for they shall not be ashamed who wait on me.

Regii lor vor fi părinţii tăi adoptivi, iar reginele lor te vor alăpta. Cu feţele plecate la pământ ţi se vor închina şi vor linge ţărâna de pe picioarele tale. Atunci vei şti că Eu sunt Domnul, iar cei ce nădăjduiesc în Mine nu vor fi făcuţi de ruşine.»

24 S hall the prey be taken from the mighty? and shall he that is rightfully captive be delivered?

Poate fi luată prada de la cel puternic sau pot fi eliberaţi captivii unui tiran ?

25 F or thus saith Jehovah: Even the captive of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; and I will strive with him that striveth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Domnul însă vorbeşte astfel: «Da, captivii celui puternic vor fi luaţi, iar prada tiranului va fi eliberată, căci Eu voi lupta cu cei ce se luptă cu tine şi tot Eu îţi voi izbăvi copiii.

26 A nd I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with new wine. And all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Îi voi face pe asupritorii tăi să-şi mănânce propria carne şi se vor îmbăta cu sângele lor ca de vin. Atunci orice făptură va şti că Eu sunt Domnul, Mântuitorul şi Răscumpărătorul tău, Puternicul lui Iacov.»“
